Thank you ninelives58, I agree!

It is only pro-anorexia if you are anorexic. Otherwise, it is a reminder of why you are doing what you are doing. There are plenty of people who want to lose weight for appearances who are considered in the "healthy" range. As long as you stay in the healthy range, and are not underweight, there is nothing wrong with that.

Haha! I live in Paris (and my boyfriend is French). I am a huge foodie! That is part of my problem. I love it. I am constantly thinking about what I will eat next. The French are thin because they have small portions and don't eat as much junk food. When I say small...I mean small. Breakfast is normally 1/4 to 1/3 of a…

Maybe you could ask your parents to help you lose weight? Who cooks, most of the time? Tell them that you can only have a certain amount of calories, ask if they wouldn't mind helping by cooking lighter? Or if that is too much, simply explain that you have to weigh your portion sizes now because of your diet, and ask if…

I would just call her out. "Don't you think that's a rude thing to say?"

I agree with jealousy comment. It is extremely hard to do!

Yeah, my boyfriend has done this. I think he thought he was being helpful. I explained that I can eat whatever I want within my calorie limit and he hasn't said anything again.

Judging from your chart, you've lost quite a bit already! Congrats!

Since you're in the Air Force are your meals planned out for you in advance (i.e. cafeteria-style)?

Yeah, same problem with loving food too much! I am trying to retrain the way I look at it...trying to look at it through the lens of "fuel" rather than "pleasure"...

Yeah, ladies! I can relate to a lot of what all of you are saying (especially having a lot of muscle Jensenstarr). I read that our bodies have a natural weight that they fight to keep (see this article http://www.nytimes.com/1995/03/09/us/metabolism-found-to-adjust-for-a-body-s-natural-weight.html?pagewanted=all&src=pm);…

Sometimes it is annoying to count calories, but sometimes it is your outlook, too. First, try to look at the calorie counting in a different light. I have actually started to feel RELIEVED after starting the food diary. Before, eating came with all this guilt about calories, and doubt about whether I was overeating. Now, I…

Started the group! I invited you all but if there is a problem, it is called "bikini-ready bods"! :)

Yeah, I know its frustrating to count calories when you don't feel like you're overweight or overeating! I came to the same conclusion that it must be portion sizes, because otherwise I exercise and eat right. Here's to re-training ourselves to eat!

No kidding! I have the same problem as you...2 glasses of wine a night and I can't fit into my jeans! Yipes! I'm cutting it out completely until I can learn self-control! I am hoping it will be easier to maintain the 1,200 calories without all that wine. Alcohol makes you crave greasy food, on top of the calories…

Hoorah! We should all start by naming: 1). Our goal 2). What we pledge to do differently in order to achieve it My goal is 10 lbs by January 15. I pledge to cut out alcohol (bye-bye wine! *sniffle*), reduce my calorie intake, and keep up the food diary.
