In yoga in College we were doing the "Snail" position I believe it is called where you put your legs up in the air with all of your weight on your shoulders and then roll your legs over your head to touch the floor above your head. I farted :( and immediately I went out of position and a girl asked if that was me. I said…

If you have cable like Comcast or Verizon Fios onDemand usually has fitness programs that are free so you can do strength training like lunges or work on your arms with 5lb weights or even yoga.

I love that!

I just got a Mio strapless watch. I kinda wish I would have shelled out the money for the one with the strap b/c you dont have to test each time your HR changes but I am worried that it will be annoying to wear. I do love my Mio (I have the Mio Drive) the only issue is that you have to mindfully check your HR while…

When I got on track with exercising, I started with Yoga because I have been doing it off and on since College. If you cannot get into the "regular" Hatha Yoga there are options like Power yoga (more focused on core and balancing poses) and Bikram Yoga which is done in a room of 105 degree heat for 90 minutes. It has…

Normally I will go to the gym straight after work, get off at 430 and be in the gym by 5. Some days I will go home first, prepare dinner and then go to the gym later (yoga at 730 sometimes do cardio before class). My nutritionist has told me it does not matter what time of day you eat but I feel guilty going to bed on a…

Do you measure all of your portion sizes? I had to go to the extent of buying a food scale to ensure I was calculating the calories properly. Is there any food you love that you can make a healthier version of (pizza, spaghetti)?

you eat half of your recommended 1600 calories? Obvious answer is that you are eating wayyy to few calories. Even after exercising (say if you burned 400 calories) then ate 600.. thats still consuming 1000 calories which is under what the average body needs to properly function. You need to provide nutrients to your body.…

I did low carb in high school and lost about 30lbs that I totally gained back after I started eating them again which was inevitable. it also made me tired and b!tchyy. I have just focused on more healthy foods in general and it has worked for me!

My excuse was that I just never saw any results within the first month I gave up and said it was a failure or that I was just supposed to be this size. I was too tired, the gym was soo far away, I was too busy etc etc.. On track since October and lost 22lbs (seeing my results so far has gotten me excited to keep going).…

Anything I wanted (all we had was crap food in the house: cookies, chips & french onion dip, pizza, m&Ms)... yeah I had to learn self control on my own edit: my mom did cook but not always healthy stuff!

JCPenny usually always has sales going on especially this time of year for workout clothes b/c everyone is getting on the workout wagon. I got some great moisture wicking shirts and yoga/workout pants for fairly cheap. The thing I don't like about old Navy is that their colors fade very quickly when you wash them.

it's cool, I just thought I was crazy so I had to research it

B-12 is the only vitamin that is not found in plant sources (including vegetables, fruits, beans or nuts). Meats, yogurts, cheeses etc are the only natural source, many vegetarians have to take supplements for that reason http://www.healthalternatives2000.com/vitamins-nutrition-chart.html

At my YMCA we have Water aerobics classes, and suprisingly I am the smallest person there (at 220lbs). All of the women there wear bathing suits and shorts. If you can find a program that can offer something you want to do that is easy on your joints, believe me I know that can be an issue, go for it. When you take the…

Yesterday for me was very hard to eat back my exercise calories. I went to the gym mid-day so I was barely hungry the whole rest of the day! I had a morningstar veggie burger with guacamole to get my calorie count back up (Wholly Guacamole has 100 calorie snack packs that you can dip celery or crackers). Sometimes I will…

Ice cream is my fav. I have been trying different brands like Arctic Zero and Stonyfield Farms to find options with less calorie and sugar. But the temptation of mint chocolate chip is always there!
-
http://www.myarcticzero.com/ Check this out. I found a Coffee Flavored Artic Zero pint that is 150cals for the whole pint! Unfortunately I also could only find it at whole foods for about $4 per pint. frozen bananas, vanilla and almond milk are the cheaper alternative

I love Larabars, each bar has 9 or less simple ingredients (Almonds, dates, cashews, cherries, unsweetened coconut, dried apples etc.) Although the calorie range is 190-230 per bar they are kosher, vegan, gluten free and no added sugars. Personal Fav flavors are Apple Pie, Coconut Cream Pie, cashew cookie. Most grocery…
