  • okay cool :) normally i would put in like 20 minutes of slow walking to cover the exercise burned in like a 5 hour shift, but thers not much point really. i think i'll start doing that, and treating it as a bonus :)
  • You really really need to get on your medication, its not an optional thing and even missing a few days of pills can just take it all out of me. You'll be feeling better in no time as well !
  • If youve got an underactive thyroid you have to get on meds for it , the longer you leave it the worse things'll get. Bad side effects of dry skin, exhaustion, depression, feeling cold. If you leave it too long it can have severe effects. Thyroxine doesnt just regulate metabolism, it helps everything keep going.
  • I used to eat a huge breakfast cos I was all for my 'sets you up for the day, brain food' stuff, but now ive cut it down a lot and i'll just have a piece of fruit in the monrings, and I actually feel less hungry sooner than I used to. It used to hit 10am and i'd be hungry again. But maybe this is also to do with the fact…
  • Thank you everybody, I'm feeling a lot lot lot better !!
  • It sounds like being on here's really gonna help me :) I think my levo might need adjusted but hopefully then things'll get a little easier. I'm motivated and determined to lose the weight so hopefully that'll be enough!
  • Yeah, I do take it first thing each morning :) supplements.. like vitamins? thanks I'll bear that in mind :) I'm constantly on antibiotics, will that affect it ?
  • Nah I've not asked my doctor yet, I didnt realise how much it would affect my weight.. Ive just had some more bloods done because ive been feeling really run down again and so I'm due to go back on Friday, so I'll definately bring it up!
  • Oh really? That makes me feel a lot better! I was diagnosed when I was 13. How much levothyroxine are you on? I go to the gym about 4 times a week and walk a few miles every day, and I'm watching my calorie intake very carefully
  • Unfortunately it's unavoidable - i'll close my eyes, hold my nose and run :P that way im LOSING calories not gaining !
  • Yeah, its so tempting though, i pass it on my way home !! But, must resist temptation :D
  • i have a few cookbooks which im ashamed to say are gathering dust on my shelves... it'll be good to crack them out and make some tasty low cal foods though :) by stopping drinking so much im hoping will really help, because without fail i would drukenly go to the chip shop every night on the way home and get myself chips…
  • Thanks ! I always make sure I walk which is a good 20 minutes, but having to cook for myself (which I will admit I am not good at haha..) and buying the right foods is difficult! Makes me appreciate my mums home cooking! Annoyingly I have a stock of fat foods in my freezer which I need to get rid of before I can buy…
  • I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was 13, but I never thought weight gain was something that affected me from it, until now and I realised I've gained a stone. I'm desperately trying to lose some of it before I go home for Christmas, but will my thyroid slow down the progress? I went to get my bloods done…
