try this site: http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-calculator.asp You type in each ingredient along with quantity...then you type in the amount of servings and it gives you an entire nutrition information panel. Try it out, I use it all the time!

I find this all too interesting. Somehow, I only spend $100-120 every TWO weeks at the grocery store for two people. Personal items and cleaning supplies I buy at Target...where I might spend about $50-100/month (and that's buying the enviromentally friendly products like Method or Seventh Generation). So broken down, I…

1200 calories doesn't sound like enough for 168 lb woman. And then to factor in all the exercise you are doing - it REALLY doesn't sound like your eating enough. I'm 150 lbs, and according to this website, should be eating 1300 calories (moderately active). I'm no expert but it certainly sounds like you are eating healthy…

Thanks for everyone's advice... I thought about doing both...like using MFP for the community (always fun to read what others have to say :) But still doing my food tracking the WW way. I'm actually ended up eating more on MFP then I do with WW...that may work for some, but maybe not me??

Here's my story... Last year, I lost 14 pounds & got down to 138 by following Weight Watchers. Needless to say, this was 3 pounds away from my goal of 135. I couldn't seem to lose those last 3 pounds!!! I had several folks tell me that I wasn't eating enough...so I tried counting calories on myfitnesspal. I'm unhappy to…

PatWin - funny you suggest suduko...I keep a book at my desk! I already told my boss that if I'm bored and he can't find me a task to work on, I'm sitting at my desk and doing suduko puzzles. Thanks for all the ideas! I have tried noshing on crunchy veggies...but I got bored with them. Maybe I'll try them again -…

I have a horrible urge to snack at work all day long. I attribute this to the fact that I don't have a job that keeps me very busy and I find myself getting bored...therefore, I snack. The snacks I do eat are always healthy...I just eat a lot of them. I do enjoy 100 calorie packs...but they aren't exactly acheiving their…

For whatever reason, evening are a difficult time for me as well (especially after 7pm). I haven't really found anything that works for me...although some nights I drink a cup of diet hot cocoa (swiss miss - 25 calories) & that helps curb my sweet tooth.

bean burritos (refried beans, cheese, green peppers & onions...top off with light sour cream - I don't eat meat, but you can add chicken/beef) wraps (cheese and/or meat, lettuce, dressing) - i toast the cheese on the wrap in the oven first & make a pesto mayo...yummy! pita pizzas (flatbread topped with pizza sauce a bit of…

I meant to say substiute "beans or veggies" - haha!

I switched over to a vegetarian lifestyle 1/2/08 (I ate a small portion of pork on New Year's day). So far so good...although, I do miss some of the chicken dishes I used to eat. My best advice is to substitute beans or chicken where you would normally use meat. One of my favorite things to make is spinach and cheese…

I'm in the same boat. I only need to lose 8 pounds to get to my goal of 135. Problem is, all my friends and family already think I'm there (or even below that)...so they give me a hard time and tell me I'm getting too skinny. I hardly think a size 8 is too skinny. I even had one friend ask me if I had an eating disorder!!…

Too much protein can cause kidney strain and constipation. I asked a doctor here at work and she said that this strain usually only occurs at when you have excessive amounts of protein. I told her that I usually get between 45-60 grams and she said that's a fine amount to get. But too much more then that and I should think…

I try to leave at least 500 for dinner and a small snack after dinner.

I went to the doc's a few years back to be treated for carpal tunnel. They ended up doing an EEG and an MRI to make sure it wasn't being caused by a pinched nerve in my neck. To no avail. So they ended up giving me a cortosone shot. It took about 3 weeks for me to even notice any relief. The shot lasted for a few months…

I just got back from the grocery store...and wow is vegetarian (more specifially, meat alternative) food expensive!!! I had bought boca burgers before, but today I decided to venture down the ORGANIC aisle. I should probably think about taking out a second mortagage to pay for this  I also went to Border's and…

Yea - Veggie friends! I'm new to the whole vegetarian thing, so I may need support in the beginning of the my transition.

I decided that starting Jan. 2nd (I allowed myself a morsal of pork yesterday), I will cut meat out of my diet. Not for health reasons (I rarely ate red meat anyway) but more for moral & environmental reasons. I think my vice will be chicken...I love(d) chicken. But, after doing some extensive research, I don't love…

I love your attitude! And I must say, I'm right there with you. Although I still watch what I eat and exercise during the month of December, I do tend to splurge more. And I don't beat myself up for gaining the couple pounds that I expect to gain.

I'm 5'7" and weigh between 142 and 144 (it flucuates). I fell out of my 5 lb range of 135-140 around October, which I'm not too happy about. My goal is 130 but would be ok with 135. (Although I'm still exercising and watching what I eat, I'll get REALLY serious again Jan. 2nd  )

Oh please do not become one of those millions of overweight people that have just given up! That just adds to the pandemic of unhealthy lifestyles. I have come to realize that adapting a healthy lifestyle is a major change and not something that can be mastered overnight. It takes time and more importantly, patience. It's…

It's so great to know that others are in the same boat as I am. My friends are amazed that I can manage to stay a size 8 (although that's slowly creeping up to a 10 this month) and eat as much as I do. I guess I've had enough self control that I only lose control at parties and I to try to remain as active as I can. Let's…

I know I'm not the only one... This is my absolute favorite time of year. However, it's also one of my most difficult times of the year. I have a insaciable love of grazing over the holiday food table - specifically, the dessert area. I have attended 5 holiday parties so far and have 3 more to go this month. For example, I…

icandoit - I change up my exercise daily - some days I do walk away the pounds...the other days I do an elliptical machine. Today I tried a combination of jumping rope, jumping jacks, pilates and free weights. When it's warm outside, I ride bike or hike. On the days I give my body a 'rest', I end up cleaning my entire…

Great link FurPaws - thank you! Seems to be that baseline, I'm not getting enough calories. According to this article, I should be eating 1467/day to lose a pound a week rather then the 1260 I'm doing now. Add on exercise, and I should be eating even more. Those calculations seemed to be more accurate (and less…
