One of my MFP friends mentioned on my wall that it my by the IT band, so I did a little looking and the symptoms and causes all seem to match. The increased running, together with my pronation and slightly bowed legs could be what did it. Now, to work on relaxing it...

Not a weight-lifting squat, just squatting to tie a shoe or something. I've been doing the same weight machines since I started and haven't added anything new. If anything, I'm doing a little bit less of them over a week than I used to. I'll definitely keep an eye on this and see if the pain keeps getting worse or starts…

Think about it. BMI uses too numbers to sum up your fitness: height and weight. That's it. It's a terribly incomplete method and can NOT be trusted.

I broke the 42-minute mark on my 5k on the treadmill! AND came oh-so-close to hitting a 4.5mph pace.

Its a nice, concrete number. You can't fudge and say "oh, I met that goal" if you really haven't. It's not subjective. Yes, it's not all there is to fitness and yah, it's not the only number you could put to fitness (BMI, heart rate, 5k time, etc.) but it's a starting point. It's just a matter of finding the intake that's good for you. I've noticed that the net number doesn't usually mean much in that if I net 1200 or if I net 500, I don't usually notice much difference in my energy level as long as the intake was enough. I try to stick around 1400-1500 intake and usually have plenty of energy…

Looks like "Circuit Training, General" is right on the money for the PF 30-minute express, assuming you do all 10 machines with steppers in between. Played around with the numbers and it matches up with the numbers Pappy and Pudgeman were getting and being told by PF.
