  • Not quite sure how to add a friend, more than happy. I want to lose around 70lbs as well, done some of it more to go. I am in leicestershire. This site is definetly addictive.
  • Twinkle Dunton (twinkle was a massive ginger and white tom cat, i was only 4 years old when i choose the name!)
  • I think i see where the OP is coming from. Lets say i go to the gym for 2 hours (this is only an example) and i burn 500 calories in that 2 hours according to my HRM. Well i would have probably burnt 100 - 150 just standing there doing nothing. Therefore i really only burnt an extra 350 - 400 calories from the extra…
  • I am losing about 2lb per week on average, i was sticking to a max of 1200 and after about 3/ 4 weeks, nothing was moving, so now i stick to 1200ish if i do not exercise at all. I have an office job so do nothing during the day. I use a heart rate monitor FT7, brilliant piece of kit, would recommend anyone who has not got…
  • I would like to join, I am 43 female from the UK. Started my serious weight loss in October 2011 at 240lbs and as off this morning i am 212lbs. Lost 28 inches from the 6 points i measure. Goal is to be around 155lbs or a nice size UK12. Want to start horse riding again and in general look and feel better. This is the first…
  • Some of the other thread is funny, but sometimes people take it to far and it can make people feel uncomfortable to go. Some gyms are worse than others, you just need to pick one that has a range of people going. At ours we have the people just starting out of all ages, shapes and sizes, to the uber fit and there are…
  • I am 43 and to be honest finding it easier this time. Not so flaky and prone to giving up as when i was when i was younger. It does take total dedication and a reasonable amount of resolve and MFP has been a massive help. Eat well, get plenty of exercise (I have started running for the first time in my lige, something i…
  • I have just started running with mine (see avatar) lets just say he can go far longer and faster than me, he loves it, i have to slow him down as he loves to jog. To be honest our normal walks he finds boring, since i have started jogging and walking a lot faster he is loving it. I also cycle with him, he wears a harness,…
  • Do you wear high heels, I wear really high heels and it ruins my calf muscles. i struggled when i first started and they are always the bit of me that hurts the most if i go jogging or use a step machine etc. It is getting better, but it is best to build it up. I will stop and do some stretches mid run or walk and foudn…
  • I was always fit and never really needed to be over careful about what i ate, like i do now, it is a great workout, riding, cleaning the stable, field maintence etc etc. It has been 10 years since i have owned a horse and it is the main reason I am on here trying to lose weight and get fit as i want to buy a horse in the…
  • So can i, from the bits of flesh you can see, your wrists and forearms look smaller and there is a difference in your face. Do you measure yourself? An inch here and an inch there might not to overly noticable, but it all adds up and means you are definelty going in the right direction. The total inches lost makes me more…
  • Congratulations - i started mid oct and have done 24lbs now and i am really pleased and proud and so should you be. I have had the odd hiccup, but that is part of the process, as long as you pick yourself up and keep going then so what. Congratulations on your sucess so far and good luck for the future. Look forward to…

  • Is it still Ok to join this? I would like to do the 140.4 miles as a total as i am likely to swim it more than anything, but it will get me off my backside to do some cycling and running (well in my case at the moment, slow jogging/walking!) So far 2.1.12 - 1.4 mile walking/jogging 3.1.12 - 0.372 mile swimming 4.1.12 -…
  • I really like the look of these the north warrior dash might be an option. the Grim and the Wolf look a bit too long and hardcore, you guys ever done one? I am not fit enough at the minute so something mid year would be perfect. Done lots of stuff like this in the past, but not in a competition as such and I was 20 years…
  • Would love to do this, but a bit far south - anyone now of anything similiar in the midlands. It would probably kill me, but looks fun!
  • Think this a little unfair, everyone has to handle their weightloss differently. I use the word cheat for items that many consider as the less healthy options. By calling them cheats then it makes me feel better and helps me deal with these items in moderation. I and many others are having to deal with major lifestyle…
  • I have been doing better with the odd cheat. Only been doing this for 3 months, but got a bit stuck after 8 weeks, so i have cheat days or cheat items, which kick started my loss again. I try and stick to 1200 - 1400 net a day (eating at least half of my exercise calories back) but one day a week if i want to eat up to my…
  • I think it is up to you, i started around the same size as you (and the same age) and have only just dropped into a UK 18 and people are querying why carry on just maintain, but i want to get to size 12. 14 is a nice size, but until you get to where you can happily reach then you wont know how you look.. I am working on…
  • feel free to add me, I am in Leicestershire - started at 22/24, now 18/20 - 5ft 6ft and want to get to a 12. So similiar goals.
  • Whow, your start weight is about where i satarted and my goal is very smiliar to waht you have got to, you are an inspiration. Congratulations you are looking good.
  • I do about 30 - 45 mins most weekedays, i am not a great swimmer and really struggled with breathing - good pair of goggles and plenty of practice with breathing - mouth open breath in and blow down nose under water, sometime i still get it wrong and that is when i come up coughing and choking, but it is getting rarer now.…
  • yes i will log, but i am not weighing anything like i normally do, will estimate, but at least it will keep control over too many to bad things, good thing is i hate mince pies, christmas pudding etc, but it will be the nuts that will be my downfall. Once i hit my maintence number it will then time to start thinking i do…
  • I am doing it, i am up to day 7 of level one, had to take a few days break as have a stinking cold. I am obese and i struggle with some of the moves, but rather than stopping or waiting for the next move in the cardio i would do as many jumping jacks as i could (which i hate, big boobs - get a good bra, or forget swinging…
  • I weigh myself everyday (i have a lot to loose) ,I try hard not to as do get a bit demoralised when it does not go down, but it gives me a real boost when it has gone down and stays down. I also measure myself twice a week. It does keep me focused, i find it tough to stay on track, but tracking my food, checking my weight…
  • I havebought just a marks and spencers racer back for high impact - i am 38G in this bra and just tried it out on the 30 day shred, those jumping jacks put it to the test:laugh: . It is fairly good. one issue you do have to be a contortionist to do the back up. At 38G they still move, might stick the shock absorder on…
  • I have done day 5 and 6 - day 7 tonight, noticed my cardio is getting a bit better was struggling with the skip rope thing after the jumping jacks, but got through most of it, i cannot say how much i hate jumping jacks. Still struggling with some of the arm shoulder raises, but think what ever stage i am at day 10 i will…
  • Agree some of the things that in the US that appear weird are normal in the UK. Tomato ketchup with everything even your sunday lunch. Yorkshire puddings with jam (jelly) - standard staple over here. My favourite is from the potaote snack wagon - jacket spud, chicken curry, cottage cheese and branston pickle or brown sauce…
  • Just done day 4 level 1 - well 5 mins short as i had put my dinner in the oven and realised it was buring, so cut it short. Did stretches after i rescued my rather charred dinner.
  • Just done day 3 level 1, definetly getting a bit easier, still struggling with the reverse crunches, think i need a better mat. Hopefully by day 10 i will be able to really get all they way through really going hard at it. My heart rate monitor is around 163 to 170 calories burned wondered what others where getting.
