  • I live in SW Michigan. I swear it's a tall area. I am 6' tall and I was NOT the only girl that tall. There were 4 of us in my class in high school that were 6', and TONS of girls 5'9" and up. There's a lot of Dutch heritage in the SW Michigan area, and I've heard the Netherlands is currently the tallest country.
  • Me and my hubby are the same -- both 6'0". We've been married 8 yrs this January!
  • Channing, I liked that new bikini you posted on pinterest. I may have to make it my "reward" when I hit my goal weight! I have not worn a bikini in eons. I'm a scaredy.
  • Channing - those suits are to die for! SO cute. Something else I like about them.... I'm super fair, and it seems like I'd look ok being pale in a retro suit vs a modern suit. KWIM? Jenn - you are brave to wear a bikini at 190. Good for you. I'm 197 right now, and my goal is 162 (which will be 40 lbs total). When is our…
  • I absolutely believe it's true. I think I have it the opposite way. Except I see the "real me" in photos. I think I look pretty good in person/mirrors, but am genuinely shocked when I see a photo of myself b/c I am overweight.
  • So since we're all tall, we can compare. What is a good bikini weight for us tall girls? So if I'm 6 ft, what should I aim for to rock a bikini? 170? 160? 150? 140?
  • A bikini is my "probably never going to happen, but wouldn't it be nice" goal. I agree that the retro ones with the high bottoms are ideal. A little extra control. hmmm... thinking about joining you....
  • If you see a future with him, I'd definitely do it. I'd also work on being a superstar employee. Come in early. Do more than what you're asked. Save every written compliment you receive. Then ask for a raise in 6 mo. Good luck!
  • I hit that milestone last week! It's a big deal, isn't it? It feels great!
  • My dad taught me to say "No, do you play miniature golf?" hahaha Let's see... amazon, sasquatch and... big bird? IDK, I guess b/c I'm blond (kind of yellow, like big bird from Sesame St?).
  • Susie, what an amazing story. How wonderful for your sister to have such support from all sides of her family! Thanks so much for sharing. My oldest son has bio sibs (half, we think) in Guatemala. 7 by his bmom all living w/ bmom as far as we know. We know nothing of his bdad. My daughter has no bio sibs at this time. I…
  • Hello, I'm Lisa. So interesting to find this group, and see it contains people from all sides of the triad. I love that. And I see parts of our family's story reflected in yours. That's very cool. Thanks Crystal817 for the invite! I really related to mamapaints description of adoption. It *is* beautiful and messy. I love…
  • Cute couple! :)
  • Yea! I was wondering when an adoptive family member would comment! My husband and I are caucasian. We have three beautiful kids: a 5 year old son adopted from Guatemala, a 3.5 year old biological son (caucasian obviously) and a 1.5 year old daughter adopted from Korea earlier this year. I'm gonna have such beautiful…
  • I am almost the exact same as you. I am 6'. My highest ever was 210. My lowest (adult) weight was 165. At my highest I wore a 14 or 16. At my lowest I wore 12 to 14. Perhaps I could get away with a size 10 shirt (I have bigger hips). But you're right, I have never seen a big size difference either.
  • I wear an 11. I get my shoes at DSW, Payless and Nordstrom Rack. Like other posters said Nordstrom Rack also has "big shoe size events". Get on their mailing list and they'll tell send you a postcard when they get their shipments in. If there is a man in your life with big feet, I also pick up shoes for my brothers at…
