  • Week 8, Day 1 completed. The first mile is just a struggle to find my pace and forget all the pains (calves, hips, thighs) but by the second half of the 2.75 miles I had found the pocket. I was a machine just pumping along. I can't believe I ran 2.75 miles without stopping. 15m30s mile. Maybe not as fast as some, but if…
  • W7D2 done today. I had to go out running later than usual, which made the scenery a little different what with it being dark and all. Interesting how some people think they need to light up the tree in their yard. Looks cool, but I wouldn't want to spend the money to light my tree. Anyway, I have been feeling pretty…
  • I finished W7D1 yesterday and ran 2.5 miles straight in 40 minutes! I have never run 2.5 miles straight before in my life! I feel invincible. I was just running and running, when it said slow to a walk, it was like it woke me up out of a trance. I felt so good and exhausted and like I really earned the pain!

My app gave me a choice to train by time or distance and I am actually using the distance option. I notice that most of the threads here talk about time. Is anybody else using the distance…
  • Welcome! This is a great place for support. I am on every day as well. We all help each other.
  • When I lost weight before in college, my favorite ones were "You look different...are you okay?" and "If you lose anymore weight you are gonna disappear." Funny thing being that I was still technically overweight when both of these comments were made. Not sure why people feel they have to say something other than "you look…
  • I absolutely love the outdoors. It is my main inspiration for getting in shape. Appalachian Trail here I come!
  • Welcome! I have been on mfp for a bit, but just now started really using all it has to offer.

  • It is good to see I am not the only one that has struggled with being able to stick with the program of diet and exercise. I just keep trying to make good choices and think about how good I feel when I exercise and eat right. Although results are a good motivator, remember that exercising and eating right are just a…
