I find when Hashimoto's gets bad, headaches are first symptoms. If I miss Synthroid dose in am, by noon headache reminds me to take it. My levels can be so off, we don't trust numbers any more. Dr goes on how I feel. I'm not sure what ranges are where you live, but in Sask, they are a bit misleading & my Dr said the…

I don't have to add Splenda to my BPC anymore & last nite added scoop of protein powder to my tea (was way under protein numbers) and could almost not drink it, it tasted way too sweet. Maybe the cookie/cake cravings will go away too?

Hello everyone. Welcome new girls. Ellen I'm glad you didn't have to stay in overnite. Keep icing & get some rest. Feel better soon. @GrannyMayOz awesome nails! Are yours natural, acrylic, or gel? I find acrylic works best for me, but really hard to find here. Going to start the valerian this evening. See how it goes.…

I use 1/2 tsp Splenda in my BPC. Tried Stevia & it really disagrees with me. Did pick up some xylitol to try in a few recipes, but haven't done that yet. I do have diet coke on regular basis & I don't think it triggers any cravings.

Well hell wish I'd read this when I was still in the city. Looked at 3 different health food stores for flour & nothing. Forgot all about Bulk Barn. One woman informed me only gelatin u can get is jello at Safeway. Left that store pretty quickly, lol.

My cystic acne seems to be clearing up also. But was sure the high fat would just fill in those wrinkles, lol. Still waiting.

@teneko how much hemp hearts do you use? And just toss them in or soak first or what?

Finally found some. Old Dutch bacon puffs. Wow way better than I expected and obviously was needing the salt cause I really enjoyed licking it off, then crunching them.

Hi ladies. Another late evening, but had quick question. Going for Botox consult tomorrow. Daughter convinced me it's alright to do something for myself & I must confess have been thinking about it for awhile. The high fat is simply not plumping my wrinkles (crows feet). Anybody here tried this? Does it work? & how much…

[quote="KnitOrMiss Definitely will consider this in the future because if you have thyroid problems (like I do), naps are supposed to be a no-no....[/quote] Really, never knew that. When Hashimoto's sends mine way off, I sleep if I sit down. Actually almost fell asleep while sweeping floor once.

Thanks everybody. Throw in menopausal mood swings & a bad day turns into a really bad day. I know age, menopause, & the Hashimoto's makes it tougher sometimes, but I have far less problems than some on here. So I just need to suck it up & carry on. And my health is definitely improving so that's what I'm going to…

I was at hubby's shop the other day, & somehow conversation turned to carbs in foods. I said I was eating <20g/day & one guy said "oh you're doing keto". I thought "wow" he actually knew about it. Still definitely fringe here (population 500 on good day), but thought this was proof it's getting out there.

Thanks Janice. Was really ready to throw in the towel this morning, but after working (& pouting) in yard all day I realized I can stick with it. I went back over the past 30 day carb report & only a few times was I over 20g, & past week have been mostly <10g, so things should start shaking up soon. I really appreciate…

Hi ladies. Help! While I'm extremely happy for everyone's losses (whoosh would be nice) & forward momentum I'm just soooo frustrated (which is probably why I ate the stupid cookies last nite). No movement at all (weight/inches) in 2 weeks. At this point I'd be happy with even 1/2lb per week. Still haven't reached the "not…

Good morning/evening ladies. Interesting thoughts on supplements. If my valerian ever gets here I'll start it. Been doing Mag on days I don't soak in Epsom salt bath (read here that it can go thru skin so don't want to double up) & cramps have settled down. @RATSMITH69 so sorry to hear about your flooding. Sometimes the…

I'm not missing pasta, bread ,rice, potatoes etc., but am planning to increase carbs a bit over the summer (at <16 now) cause of fresh produce in my garden. Still will try to stay <50 I think. My downfall is baked goodies & I think I won't be able to add them without binge frenzy. (Don't know what I'll do at son's wedding…

Way to go Karlotta? Think it was turning meatavore that kicked in the losses?

Good evening ladies. Well the hungries seem to be leaving, almost normal day today (maybe bone broth?). @Jane sorry sorry to hear of your family's loss. Prayers & hugs. @May would you like to come do my nails for the wedding? Those pics are awesome. @Janice glad you're finding it easier to do all the gardening you've been…

@FIT_Goat so if you're getting your protein from meat & dairy are you getting enough of the essential amino acids? I'm getting confused (& that's very easy to do) again?
-
I quit adding salt to anything I cooked or ate 35 yrs ago (was told by Dr to leave salt out of diet for gynie issues). Now I add dash in my coffee, salt my bone broth & don't shy away from salty foods. Not sure If sodium levels affect me worse due to the Hashimoto's. I have discovered that if I feel headache coming on, a…

I add extra BPC when my protein has gone too high (>80g), and when protein is too low (<30) I have a protein shake. My macros are set at 16g carb, 65g protein, & 108g fat. Not sure if this is correct way to go about it, but am trying.

@Kitnthecat the broth turned out pretty good. Needs more salt, but tasty. I logged it at 18 cals, 3 net carbs, 1 p, & 0 fat. Think these are a little off. Pretty sure has fat (develops good thick layer when cool) & since I strained it don't think carbs are that high ( 4 med carrots, 1 c sliced parsnip, 2tbsp dehydrated…

I have a question about the Atkins bars/treats. When I picked some up the other day (Walmart) I read the front of the box to say 3g carbs, but when I opened it & looked at individual packages they were 18g carbs/serving. Is there another Atkins brand out there?

Thanks. Never thought about different temps. Haven't got pressure canner, so may need to rethink this.

Hi ladies. Beautiful morning after the storms last night. Power was out in most of northern part of Sask. Ours was out for 13/12 hrs. Son has video of funnel that came close enough to ground it was whirling dust from the fields around! Before I can start in yard today have to drive around & pick up all the crap that blew…

I added recipe to my list. Not sure how accurate their numbers are, 3 net carbs. I strained everything out. Has anybody canned theirs? It's already cooked, so should just have to process 20 mins or so, right? I've only ever canned beet pickles, pickled carrots, salsa, relish, & apples (same principle I'm assuming).

I bought my hubby a gizmo just for poppers on the barbecue for his b'day. He grills not me. So can't wait for him to open it & try it out (b'day) isn't for couple weeks yet.
