Ok, so tried BPC today. Used 1tbsp butter, 1 tbsp cream, 1tbsp coconut oil, & 1/2 packet Splenda. Much too my surprise I liked it! No butter taste or feel in my mouth. Reminded me almost of a Tim's ice cap. So then it made me start to wonder how much fat are really in those drinks? One site said that a Peanut Buster…

I've been having same problem, so today I had supper(chili/cheese/1/2avacodo) for breakfast. Then 1 cheese stick @ noon and BPC at 3:00. Was good til supper at 7:00. Usually I'm starving all day, but this seemed to work. I had enough energy to work out in yard (raking, pruning trees) all day. So, going to try again…

Thanks @lindsey1979. I'm definitely doing follow up blood work after 1mo of this. Hopefully will have lost at least a little weight by then, and not mucked up any of my thyroid levels.

Would cream and coconut oil work? Cream instead of butter?

@happylifex10 Hey I have that same flap/pooch. My c-sec were 24 & 20 yrs ago, then hysterectomy, 2 cyst removals, & ovaries removed all on same scar. I figure surgeon owes me a coupon for free tummy tuck/lipo. His son is a plastic surgeon. I just call it my imaginary friend, so I'm never lonely. @GrannyMayOz glad to hear…

@GrannyMayOz hope you're feeling better soon. Iron supplements can bung you up a bit, so be careful. Constipation is never fun. On top of everything else age has decided to throw at us. Seriously, now we're learnt life values shouldn't we get to enjoy it and dealing with some of this crap would have been way easier in my…

Hi all. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's 16 yrs ago. After several years of infertility meds, Synthroid, & other stuff my Dr finally did the antibody test. He made it very clear at the time that he was just patronizing me, but he did it. I had got to the point where I could either do laundry or make supper in a day, not…
-
@chunt87 so were they able to determine if antibodies are gone now? Both my Dr and specialist were unable to answer that for me (once the Hashimoto's kills it). The surgeon said in my son's case they were, but will Graves & Hashimoto's be different? So far it's only been a week on the LCHF and I'm still figuring it out as…

@Teneko that looks amazing! And yeah, duh major brain fart.

Thanks all. I bought sport Mio to add to water and chocolate will definitely be added to my days. Also, I have been adding cheese to everything. I wonder how well cheese & chocolate go together?
-
@GrannyMayOz I was drinking 5 ish diet cokes/day but have cut back to 1 at night as a treat. Was hoping this wouldn't screw stuff up

Thanks guys. I'm not going to fiddle with %s again. But will try to worry less about cals & just keep fat up. I am supposed to weigh & measure today, but the scale scares the crap out of me. I hope to see some movement down but if I went up I'm worried I'll blow last week's work & eat anything that's not nailed down in…

hi I just wanted to point something out. Hashimoto's is not the only thyroid disease with antibodies. So is Grave's. Discovered this the hard way after my son had been extremely ill for 10-12 mos. He was vomiting & pooping blood & dropped 55lbs in that time. (He's 5'10 & went down to 132lbs). All Drs. tested him for gastro…

Ok. I didn't know if I should open new thread or stay here. But this over 50 site (forum, topic, whatever-am totally tech illiterate) is comfortable for me. I thought I had figured things out. Upped my cals readjusted my macros & planned meal accordingly. Today my numbers were: 1123 cal,18 C, 94 F, & 68 P . I'm starving &…

I've been keeping an eye on the electrolytes in food diary. Think potassium & magnesium are definitely low. Am doing chicken boullion everyday for sodium. I never did add salt to anything before I started this journey, so adding it now really makes everything very salty to me. Was going to check with pharmacist about…

@GrannyMayOz Thanks for the help. I think I'm over obsessing about this. Just going to try and keep fats up & hopefully others will fall into place. My DH has decided he wants to eat same as me, so now I'm trying to find stuff for him. Big on potatoes, breads, desserts, & anything else that's bad for you. Needs to lose at…

Already had 8 glasses H2O today, 3 mugs green tea, & 1 c coffee. Oh and chicken boullion broth. Have just poured another lge glass H2O and hopefully will back off. Hate to take meds unless absolutely necessary so sometimes end up leaving it too late.

Thanks try that tomorrow.

What about this darn headache? Actually turning into migraine now, so I'm off to bed with some meds. I'll hopefully be able to eat rest of goals later tonight.

Thanks guys. Realized I still was in wrong mind set. Lean meats & oodles of veggies don't work for this LC. I just bought coconut oil, avocados, cream, & cheese. Now just have to figure out how to put it all together. I've decided to up calories to 1300/day Keeping my macros at 15%C, 20% P, and 65% Fat. I gave wrong…

@Kitnthecat how many eggs & slices of bacon keep you full that long? @jumanajane I really checked the bacon I had for lunch. Even using barcode scanner values were different from package label. So I manually put in the label values. Right or wrong? Then fried the mushrooms in the bacon grease (ugh). Might take awhile to…

Hi guys. Thanks for the tips. I've been mucking about with the goals trying to figure stuff out. But going to leave them as they are for at least a week now. Definitely going to cut the smoothies out. I put one in for today to see what supper could be but haven't had it, so going to change to something else. I hate the…

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I did the keto calculator and am still a bit lost. According to both it & MFP I need 1413 kcal/day to exist so thought 1200 would be good deficit. But with breakfast & lunch today I already am just about maxed on carbs & protein but still need 47g fat and about 470 left in cal. So just eat…

Yes I can. Could be my mind tricking me but I know the butter is there. My son's fiancée has been baking and she only uses butter and the smell makes me want to gag. But thanks for the coconut oil tip. Can you buy it at regular grocery store?

Hi all! I just started low carb on Monday. Struggling to keep Fat up and calories down. Have set my goals as: 25% C, 55% protein, & 65% fat to stay in 1200 calorie range. So far no weight or measurement changes, but am exhausted. Cut back to 1 diet coke/day from 4/5 and am drinking 5/6 big mugs green tea/day. Also cut…

Thanks for all the tips. I'll keep close watch for a few weeks and see how it's going.
