  • Hello ladies. Hope everyone is well. Finally back on track after last week (& weekend) binge. Will take a few more days I'm sure to be as settled in a as I was, but definitely easier to get back on track. Any other diet I would have thrown in the towel by now & just given up. Didn't notice bloating or swelling from the…
  • Hi I'm Kathie. I started LCHF in April/15 and within 2 weeks was doing Keto. Did awesome for 3 mos., then last week got derailed after son's wedding & daughter's meltdown at University. Finding it a little tougher than I thought to get back on track. Will have good day, then bam next day succumb to crap (pizza tonight).…

  • Hello ladies. Hope everyone has a great weekend. It's a long one for us Canadians don't know about everybody else. @May definitely would be up for something with you guys. This past week really kicked the crap out of my LCHF plan. But good thing is I'm ready to get back on the horse & try again. @wheatlessgirl66 me too. I…
  • Hello ladies. Hope everyone is well. Finally starting to feel rested after wedding weekend. Late Mon. afternoon daughter calls in tears having total breakdown. Hubby & I convinced her summer class she's taking isn't worth all the mental stress & to come home for month before fall classes start. Rather she be rested & start…
  • Hi May, hope holiday was great. No wedding was a *kitten* show from beginning to end. As soon I get it all sorted out in my mind & can find the words, I'll give the details of the day on my blog. Sure wished you were there for my nails. Poor girl struggled. They look not bad, just nowhere near what I'd asked for & she…
  • Hello ladies, hope everyone had a good weekend. Just a quick anecdote from my wedding weekend. After the reception my sister says I look like I've lost weight. Then she asks if it was deliberate & then proceeded to say my face looked like a skeleton. (WTF). I said yes I'd been trying to lose weight & left it there. Tonight…
  • Don't know if good or bad, but can see the surgical scars on belly again. Haven't seen them in quite awhile, lol.

  • @Janice. Yes do "me time" all weekend. Make it a stay-cation and pamper yourself. Soak up the sun on your deck, give yourself a spa, pedi/mani, the works. All while sipping your daughter's great chokecherry wine. Sorry you're still struggling with work issues. I'll pop back in tomorrow to vent about me day yesterday.
  • Happy Thursday everyone. @May. Have a great holiday! I think the pre-holiday tiredness is just so we really get to relax once we ge there. @RATSMITH69. My condolences. So sorry to hear about your losses. You're struggling with so much on your plate right now. Sending you massive waves of comfort & sympathy. @Janice. The…
  • Sobey's is where I get mine. Had a heck of a time finding them too. Old Dutch bacon puffs.
  • The fact that "fat shaming" is acceptable because it's a tv show is alarming. I'm all for educating people, but these shows are just going for ratings & how many of these participants actually see their "saviours" ever again after final taping?
  • Good morning/evening ladies. I think it's a beautiful day here, but smoke is back so no sunshine just heat. I feel so bad for all the people who've been evacuated due to the fires (I shouldn't complain about smoke here). Last night had 1/2 cup fresh strawberries & cream. Wow, it was great I remember my mum saying they had…
  • What I don't understand is that they applied to be on these shows. So they know what's about to happen. Why bother if they won't even try? The trainer, nutritionist, Dr are all provided for free. I know if someone handed me these opportunities I'd sure try to make the best use of them.
  • Hi ladies, taking a chance to sit & reflect for a few minutes. @May. Sometimes a heartfelt hug is worth more than all the thanks in the world. I know DIL to be's family is not going to thank anybody for anything, but that's ok. I just want her & my son to have a lovely day with no worries. Also I'm a bit of a control freak…
  • Just a quickie from me too. Just wanted to let you ladies know reading your posts is helping me destress a little (I sit by myself sipping BPC and read). Wedding plans are made, then remade, then redone again honestly driving me crazy! 2 wks to go & she's so lackadaisical about it all, I'm having nightmares. @May. The…
  • @GaleHawkins so do you feel any different since adding the shilajit? Looks like an interesting product. Longevity runs in my family (grandmother & 3 of her sisters were 100-102 when they passed) but I'd like to be healthy & active in my 90's.
  • Good morning/evening everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend! Wedding prep is going full steam ahead (barring technical breakdowns). I have 1 side of dress altered & am off to finish other side once I'm done my morning BPC. I think this WOE is helping me keep things in better perspective, the printer/computer glitch…
  • I've found that a handful of bacon puffs (pork rinds) does the trick for me. I think the salty crunchiness is what does it? 7 pces is 1/4 the suggested serving size so cals aren't too high & you're getting fat & protein.
  • BPC has become my daily treat. Sometimes I even have 2. I never knew the effects of coconut oil tho, thankfully it never got me like that. Although reading about your experience did make me chuckle (sorry). I am upping the coconut oil from 1 to 2 tbsp this week just to see if I can shake things up a bit. & it is still the…
  • I find mine get really noticeable after exercising & they're not disappearing the way they used to when I was younger. Being very fair skinned I've had them since I was a teenager. (I started waitressing when I was 16 & started noticing them then).
  • I actually started feeling crappy this week too. 80 days started LCHF and keto 2wks after (so 10 wks?). But sleep has been very spotty & stressed to the max. Am trying more coconut oil in BPC (up to 2 tbsp) and going to add supplements next week. I definitely haven't noticed a decreased appetite (on regular basis) yet, but…
  • There are products on market for scarring that work on spider veins, my mum told me. Mine are way more noticeable now too. Don't know any brand names tho.
  • Hello ladies. Hope everyone is prepping for an awesome weekend. I have oodles to do in garden, then get back at wedding stuff. On another thread we were discussing sun screen, I have definitely noticed I am burning way less easily since taking coconut oil, don't know if this is connected or what. Still ss my face, but…
  • Just got back from marathon shopping day. I did blood work before I left, but Dr never ordered fasting glucose tests, not sure why, but everything else. Can't wait to compare to tests in April. Weight this morning was down but had a few more carbs today so we'll see what tomorrow brings. Because I didn't log on in time my…
  • @May. We did that too. A person came to see what was needed & explain things to FIL. He got so upset he kicked them out of his house. It's really too bad they're discharging her to home & not care facility. Do you have home care there? At least we had a homecare nurse checking 1/wk on her meds, etc. Then 2/wk homecare came…
  • @Janice. Actually had water bomber s loading every 9 mins at lake 10-15 miles away on Sun. Daughter is camping a ways north from us. Have to admit I'm a little worried. No cel service. Hopefully they have enough sense to get out if smoke is too bad. No fireworks for us this year due to fire bans, but ball t'ment still on.…
  • Hello ladies. Hope everyone is well. Had a miserable evening last night. I had BPC at 7:30 am, then because we were working on wedding dress no lunch. A BPC at 4:00 pm & finally bacon, eggs, & cheese at 6:30. Was instantly nauseous which lasted several hours. Tried chicken boullion, bacon puffs, & pickle before going to…
  • So if I only have BPC for breakfast & don't eat until 1 or 2 pm have I been doing IF & just didn't know it?
  • Good afternoon/evening ladies. Had a marathon bouquet making session this weekend & we're done the 8 (seriously?) bridesmaids' bouquets. Now to start altering the dress this afternoon. @May. The trials of aging parents are tough. I feel for you. As my MIL steadily worsened, my FIL was same as yours it sounds. It seems that…
