  • Thank you everyone for all your support! For those wondering what my routine was, here it is. I started by dropping all types of beverages including my daily Starbucks fix. Drank only water and green tea. Kept to a 1200 calorie diet eating back half my exercise calories I burned that day. Didn't follow an exact plan just…
  • regarding hair loss, i have thick hair and a lot of it. i lose a lot of hair on a daily basis, but because i have so much it's not noticeable. I started taking Biotin 1000mcg on a daily basis and have noticed that I do not lose as much hair and that my nails also have been growing stronger. Maybe this might help for those…
  • hi there! i was diagnosed with hypo back in 2009 after giving birth to my 3rd son. I gained about 40+ lbs. I was originally put on levoxyl, that didn't work out so well for me as I was still constantly tired, exhausted, all the symptoms and on top of that kept gaining weight! Found an endo who put me on armour and a year…
  • take measurements and progress pics! you'll be surprised at what you think is only a 3-5lb weight loss actually translated into lots of inches lost in all areas of your body. it took me 10 months to drop 29lbs after my meds were adjusted 3-4 times. I have come to a stand still and have been teetering between 139-141lbs,…
  • I didn't realize I was still getting responses as I am not notified when I do. For those that are struggling with hypo, it took me 2 1/2 years after being diagnosed to actually start losing weight. I finally found an endocrinologist who listened to me and how I was feeling physically as well as look at my lab results. I…
  • thank you everyone for the support! :)
  • 2357+26=2383
  • agree with above post^^ before during and after pics definitely help with seeing your own progress. cuz when i look in the mirror i still don't wanna see what I really want to see, but i do get compliments for my weight loss.. if you think about it, 22 lbs is a LOT! keep it up!
  • doctor lowered my dose after losing 17lbs and he said that if i lost anymore he'd switch me from armour to synthroid. And this is based on my lab results. started at 167lbs, when he lowered my dose i was at 150lb. now i'm at 142lbs and hopefully will lose a bit more by the time i see him next month. although now, i do feel…
  • this is interesting to me... i take armour and recently my doc lowered my dosage from 90mcg/3days aweek and 60mcg on the other days. Now i'm on daily 60mcg for the last 2 months and i feel some of my hypo symptoms coming back. I don't see him until June 25th. So i'm kind of curious, what does chewing them do for you?
  • I have hypo also, diagnosed in 2009 after having my youngest son and I had my meds switched up three times before I saw any weight come off. I went from the 130s to 167lbs after being diagnosed. Finally my doc, gave me armour thyroid and upped the dosage and I finally saw results. But it took a LOT of hard work and…
  • thanks everyone!!

  • i am a mom of 3 boys (12, 10 and 3 yrs old). highest weight being pregnant 168lbs and highest weight non-pregnant 167lbs. I am 5'0". here are some before after pics on my most recent successful weight loss journey: left: 167lbs right: 142lbs (current) and here's my stomach pic: left: 153lbs right: 143lbs I still have a bit…
  • congratz on breaking into the 120s! that's my personal goal too, to get into the 120s. But right now, I'm still trying to break into the 130s! I started at 167 and I'm hoping to get into the 120s by the end of summer at least. Thanks for the inspiration and motivation!
  • Thanks!! And yes it is possible, once your meds are regulated. I still have to see my endo every three months because of my weight loss and my lab results always changing every time I get bloodwork done. 30 pounds by Xmas is totally do-able! I tried to drop 40 by May 1, 2012 (my 10 yr wedding anniversary). didn't make it,…
  • Aww, thanks! It's the filipino gene... it's like we don't age ;P j/k! I mainly learned to take care of my skin now! moisturize and SPF.
  • oh you are so right! It's definitely not easy. That's why I'm at the gym 5-6 days a week! and eating the right foods and eliminating the wrong ones... now that's a lot of work in itself! It's just for those of us with an under active thyroid has to work a bit harder than most. Patience is key. As long as you stay…
  • Woops, I meant each thigh is now 21". That's how I got 11" combined.
  • awwww, thx so much for the kind words!!
  • i agree with Edge of Glory - Lady Gaga pumps me up everytime. another one is Stronger by Kelly Clarkson makes me punch the air while I'm on the treadmill.
  • this makes total sense! Thanks for posting this.
  • WOW! I am amazed and totally inspired. You look great! Congrats on hitting goal.
  • Thanks so much for sharing!! An inspiration.
  • I am standing short at 5'0" (can get up to 5'6" with the heels i wear though, lol) anyways, i'm currently at 143-145 and would LOVE to get to 125-128. 6 months ago when I first started, i was at 167. I also have hypothyroidism so it's been a tough battle, slowly but surely, I hope to get there!
  • hey everyone, here's an update. I haven't lost any more weight as I started strength training so I'm thinking I'm starting to develop more muscle mass. I'm hoping that eventually more pounds will start to melt. But I did measure my waist today. As of today I'm at a 29" waist. I started at 34" six months ago. Still got a…
  • thank you everyone for the support! Not sure if it's the meds or the feeling of actually losing weight that is making me so happy. But my confidence has shot through the roof. I feel so much better about myself. my primary physician didn't work with me one bit and I was on levoxyl for 1 1/2 years before realizing that it…
  • not sure how much my health insurance covers, but I pay $12/month for a 30 day supply. 60mcg a day.
  • When my doc increased my dosage, I was on 90mcg M-W-F and 60mcg all the other days. I do get it filled at the pharmacy. I also take Blood Sugar Support supplement pills twice a day 30 minutes before breakfast and lunch. I'm thinking the supplements were a result of my pre-diabetic diagnosis when I was heavier.
