This is what I am making for dinner, but you could just as easily have it for lunch: leftover grilled chicken breast on a bed of fresh spinach, kale, and arugula, with sliced kiwis, walnuts, whole flax seeds, red onion, and cilantro lime vinaigrette. Vinaigrette: 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh cilantro 3 tablespoons…

One blend that really surprised me by how good it is: peel and add 1 whole orange, 1-2 carrots, 1 beet (with tops). Add 1" knob of ginger. If there isn't enough juice, add another orange. This is very sweet, and you won't know you're drinking veggies!

My husband is in much better condition than I am and is currently training a female friend - they run together 4 days a week, plus go to the gym together. It doesn't bug me at all. I hate to run, but love to swim and he hates to swim. So, we each have our own buddy system going and it works great for both of us. I…

Both are Hebrew. Hadessa was Esther's name before she changed it to hide her true identity. It means Myrtle (like the tree). Miriam was the sister of Moses and Aaron, the meaning is uncertain, as it can be viewed as "Rebellious" or "Sea of Bitterness". Both women were strong matriarchs in the Bible, your friend probably…

My daughter is River Bryndolyn, so I'm one of those parents. I think her name is lovely, and suits her perfectly.

There's also a thread here about Black Bean Brownies - I suggest it :)

Peel 2 fresh dates (use 1/4 c of the chopped kind if you can't buy fresh). Put them into a food processor along with 1 TBS cocoa powder, Blend. Mix in walnut pieces and coconut by hand. Shape into bars with plastic wrap.

You might also look into brown rice syrup.

DATES. Fresh dates are very soft and easy to work with plus they give whatever you put them into a brown sugar type taste. They are delicious. If you can't get fresh dates, buy the chopped ones, put them into a colander, and rinse the sugar off. You can soak them and press the water out with paper towels. Dates also make…

I take Prozac and it hasn't effected my appetite. It also does a great job with my depression/anxiety attacks.

Do you need the eggs and oil with the beans? Also, you can use a sugar substitute like splenda or stevia.

I can't answer that, I make them as instructed and they taste good.

Besides, all the big supermarkets seem to get that stuff frozen and then thaw it, so I bet you'll be fine.

I've never froze hummus before, but I am guessing it's better to try than to throw it away.

For starters, you DON'T have to explain how you got that way. I really HATE when people feel compelled to comment on weight gain - I actually stopped someone I hadn't seen in a few years and was really excited to talk to her, but she got a really shocked look on her face and said "Oh my God, I would have never recognized…

I gained 90 lbs on Depo, and my thyroid has never been the same. As far as I know, no research indicates DepoProvera can induce hypothyroidism, but I never had a weight problem until I started using it. I was told an initial weight gain of about 20 lbs could occur in the first 90 days, but that would be it. I got my first…

I personally love fresh juice!!!! With a little experimentation you can find blends that suit your own tastes. I have found a few blends that I was surprised to like, for example beet (with tops), carrot, and orange - it's surprisingly good, especially if you add about a 1" knob of fresh ginger. I also really like…

I eat 6-8 times a day instead of three, and I use a divided children's tray. My portions look huge on it. I also found that if I eat healthy fats and protein I feel much better.

Some people (like me) are sodium sensitive. Sodium sensitives can't eat more than 800-1200 mg/day depending on the person. If I eat a frozen pot pie for example, within 20 minutes my hands, feet, and face are swollen and I have a horrible headache. Sodium is a necessary nutrient, but most people ingest too much too…
