I suppose I don't rate as a 'young' mom anymore, I'm almost 37, but I have 4 children and the youngest is 19 months. My goal is to lose 150 lbs. I have hypothyroidism and have yo-yo'd in 65-95lb swings for the past decade. I'm done with that! Add me if you like, it's nice to communicate with people who share a larger…

Swim, if you have access to a Wellness Center. Many times a dr can refer you and your membership is reduced.

PICA is when you EAT non-food items. I eat fabric softener, and I prefer Snuggle Blue Sparkle. I also crave Downy UNstopables In-wash Scent Booster, both fragrances, but 'Fresh' is my favorite. I also eat ice all day long and some doctors lump it in with PICA as well.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the giggle fit :D

I watch my sodium intake for two reasons: 1) it's a trigger to over eat for me and 2) I am sodium sensitive, needing only 1,000mg or less/day. However, not everyone feels the need to monitor sodium. I eat complex carbs daily - whole grains, beans, fruits, and vegetables. I am losing, not gaining. To me there is a huge…

Beginning tomorrow I am using the Rice Diet approach. It was developed in 1939 by a cardiologist at Duke University for hypertensive patients and has since been used very effectively for morbid obesity, diabetes, heart conditions, etc. It is a restricted sodium, low calorie, whole foods, spiritual life change. Today the…

I wear mine because it was chosen specially for me, and it's symbolic of the commitment we made to each other. There have been times I have looked at that ring and the enormity of what it all means just about made me sick - not because I don't love my husband, but for all it represents. It is also an easily recognizable…

Yes - I try to keep mine @ 1,000 per day. Otherwise my bp goes up and I get edema. I have never had a cramping problem.
-
Oh - I wanted to add on to here that sodium can be a trigger to overeat for many people, just like sugar.
-
I personally have to watch my sodium intake closely. There is some chemistry/physiology behind burning fat instead of muscle, but I do believe you generally lose around 10 pounds of water weight first. If you restrict your sodium and still have some water weight, try a mild diuretic for a couple of days.

^^ Exactly. I wasn't trying to offend anyone. And I thought Bianca means "Pure".

I have a bangin' butt! And I hope I don't lose it.

My husband (who grew up on a farm) says chickens will also eat one another, not just the eggs :p

Pigs eat each other and so do chimpanzees.

Lowering/eliminating your refined sugar intake is advisable. Fresh fruit (or frozen) is natural and good for you.

Sounds delicious!

This ^^ I LOVE my juicer. I can PM a few combinations to try, if you're interested. BTW - processed juices you buy from the store, even ones like BARE NAKED, are not the same - the nutrients are destroyed through processing, then added back in. Another good link: http://juiceladyinfo.com/ I also use this trick whenever I…

My oldest son had a classmate named Blanca (white). She was black. I always felt a little sorry for her.

Fresh fruits and veggies and lots of water. Veggies like beets support your liver and help keep lymph moving. especially when you also eat the green tops. I use a juicer and drink my veggies, its an easy way to get in all the servings you need. Bottled juices are NOT the same - they are cooked and condensed then artificial…

I don't see any problem with eliminating things made from white flour or white sugar (both highly refined/processed with basically no nutritional value) from your diet. I do not personally drink milk very often, I use almond milk for most things, even cooking. I do eat yogurt, but that like everything is a personal choice.…

This is awesome!!!!! WTG!!!!! I am unfamiliar with imageshack, I use photobucket. However, if the IMG code isn't working, try the direct link.

You're welcome :) It very well could be. Tannins in general are good for you (they are the antioxidant polyphenol properties in tea), but if you have problems with anemia then it is best to steer clear of tea and soda. The anti-oxidants in tea are also found in cocoa, in higher doses. You can also take elderberry extract…

I have coffee every morning as well :) I really like it blended with cocoa powder, coconut milk, cinnamon, a scoop of protein powder, and ice.

It's the tannins in the tea that inhibit absorption. BUT they inhibit plant based iron, not meat based iron.

Couple of reasons: To begin with, Phosphoric acid and ph balance. The ph balance in soda oxidizes whatever it comes in contact with. Plus, when your body is too acidic its easier for disease to set in (cancer has been linked to improper ph levels in the body, so has arthritis, liver disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, and…

Your body only absorbs around 50% of artificial vitamin supplements, so you should dose twice a day if you go that route. Almond milk has a higher calcium content than milk, so do dark leafy greens like kale. Spinach is iron rich, as is sea weed. Try consuming as much of your nutrients from food as possible for best…
