I'm much better at home than the gym. Ok, I'm not MUCH better, but at least I'm not any worse. I find I don't go to the gym because I have to go, get ready, drive there and then work out. Where as at home I can just do all of it, and be done. Plus I prefer running outdoors than on a treadmill inside.

I'm also a big beer drinker. I haven't given up on it. I just exercise a bit more to make up for it. For me, giving up on beer after hockey games or beer out with friends won't happen. It is one of my favourite things of my week, and I'd be pretty cranky if I gave that up completely. And its about being happy. So now,…

Is there any way you can throw something like nuts into you bag?? Its weird you cannot eat your own food. I worked at a restaurant throughout University, and they were happy to let us bring our own food. Also, are there things like fruit or veggies you can eat while there??

I eat anywhere from 1450-2000 depending on exercise. If I don't exercise I'm about 1450-1600. If I do, it goes over. I lost about 30lbs not doing anything with diet (essentially drinking and eating crap constantly) and just exercising. And now throwing in somewhat watching my caloric intake, I've already lost another 10…

To add to this, SO many of those MD recommended things often say stuff like 95% of the Doctors we spoke to recommended it. Which drives me crazy because what if they just talked to 5 specific doctors. Just by being recommended by an MD doesn't make it right, or wrong. For me, I think the biggest part of these fad diets is…

Puss (and puss "y"). Also how the heck to you spell that. We had an email passed around at work to never use the word puss,...ie. Due to how you'd think it was spelled! So not a fan of that word. But I really don't mind moist or other commonly hated words.

I just did my workout, its midnight. I am the same as you. I wish it was safe to go running outside at this hour! Because I'm a night hawk, and would WAY rather do everything at night.

I don't really like this idea. Only because of how it affects your body long term. Don't get me wrong, I'm not shocked you'd lose weight on it. But why not lose weight the good old fashioned way? Things have become so over complicated and everyone wants to quick fix. And really, we don't have a clue on what it does to our…

My shock are muffins! And bagels! I could have a donut and get the same calories as a muffin. Its crazy!

I don't think I have anything on a always avoid list. (maybe its why I look the way I look) There are things on my avoid to keep in the house on a regular basis list. But if I'm at a party and there are chips, I will probably have some. Or if its post hockey and we go out for a pint, I'm going to enjoy it. But I don't buy…

Or NO break times!! For me, I bring enough food for my day, and I bring most of it in small snack forms. So I can just run and grab a bit of something quickly, rather than needing to wait for a full break. Just step out take 1 min, like I'm going to get some water or something. Although, I've found it still is hard, as…

Your body changes quite a lot even as you have passed puberty. And that could just be it. You'd probably do better eating your exercise calories back AND only trying to lose a pound a week. And don't be frustrated if you don't lose it at all. As you may not. If you're body has gone through any changes, this may be your new…

I'm a fan of a cheat day, as I LOVE LOVE LOVE food, and if I just never eat foods that are guilty pleasures for me, I will fall off the wagon. Cutting certain foods out cold turkey doesn't work for me. So a cheat day works well. Plus I don't find it makes a difference in my weight loss. I find if I focus on exercising,…

Here's the thing... sometimes you tighten rather than actually lose. Focus on the feel and not the numbers! If you are looking better and things are looser, then things are working! A number isn't everything!
-
Heck, I'm eating chips right now! lol. Its one day. So just don't do it tomorrow.

What I do with swimming is swim on days I'm tired and don't want to exercise. I love swimming, but its not as fat burning as other things. But if I am tired/sore then swimming gets me doing something rather than nothing. So swimming is great for you, but like said above, won't lose weight as fast with swimming. For a…

For me, I say enjoy life! I am one who does want to lose weight, but not at the expense of never enjoying my life or always having to say no to dinner with friends and family and what not. Which is why I will probably never lose the last ten pounds and I'm cool with that! I have lost about 30 lbs so far (not using diet,…

I've always been heavier than guys I've dated. And I've just never said it because I look lighter than I actually am. Although now, I am lighter than my current bf, but I am not as much as I'd like to think. And since we are both on weight loss plans, we will probably be the same weight. But as long as I look and feel…

Oooh, I'm from Canada. And I've travelled all over Canada (except territories and Newfoundland). But I want to go to Newfoundland! And other than that I've travelled to: - US (of course, I have lived in California, and travelled to most states). - Mexico (volunteer + mission trip in highschool) - Guatamala (vacation) -…

My fav insult ever was when I was doing a clinical in a mental hospital. The lady I was looking after wrote a poem about desserts and asked me what desserts I liked... I told her I didn't really like desserts. She looks super surprised and goes "Oh, really?? You're not very skinny, I think you'd eat lots of desserts!" And…

I took cursive writing in school and I still can barely sign my name as I just NEVER write a thing. But my nephew still learns cursive in school. I am not saying they shouldn't teach cursive. But I think they need to teach it in conjunction to other forms of communication/writing. Maybe not put as much effort into cursive…

I'm also 5'7". I am currently 180 (down from 190). And I would like to lose another 20 lbs. I am a size 12 pants size now, so I feel like being 140 just wouldn't fit my body type. Plus i never ever remember being under 175lbs anyways. So goal is 160lbs. And then if I am not happy with things totally by then, maybe go a bit…

I always always do. I work in an ICU, and have seen multiple kids come in who haven't worn helmets and seen what can happen. Not that a helmet will save your life every time, but why not wear a helmet? There is no harm. And it could save your life! Although, as a kid, I never really did. And even before I started working…

Well, I am working on Thanksgiving, which means I won't be having a Thanksgiving dinner, so that's no issue. And for Christmas, I am just going to enjoy. I love my Christmas dinner SO much, there is NO way I am not eating it! It may be one of the most unhealthy things on the planet, but it is so delicious and I only eat it…

No food avoiding for me. My changes I've made since trying to be healthier are bringing my lunch to work, not picking up fast food everytime I've had a crappy shift and didn't get breaks or times to eat. But rather eat fruit/nuts/granola.veggies instead on my way home to fill the hunger void. But I still endulge in crappy…

Oh no, I do agree... I only thought no carb because its what my sister in law and brother are doing, and I just think its crazy. To me, lots of people over do carbs and should be more conscious of the type of carbs they do eat, but no one should ever eat minimal to no carbs, especially if exercising lots. So not trying to…

Mine is 1670 before exercise. I am moderately active generally speaking as I do work a job in which I am on my feet constantly. I am also 5'7". With this goal, I should lose about a pound a week, which is completely healthy. And when I exercise, I generally eat about half those calories back depending on how much I do. If…

But it's Octoberfest!!! How can you have a sober october?? That said, I really don't drink that often. And when I do, its rarely more than one drink. I may have one drink every two weeks, so I'm not totally concerned. lol. And usually it is after a hockey game where I've burnt many calories and don't worry!
