  • Something that you did right: You joined MFP!
  • Welcome! I've been here about a week, which makes me an old hand. You'll like it here as most folks are pretty friendly and encouraging. Best of luck to you on reaching your goals!
  • A fresh apple always works well for me.
  • Up 2 pounds in 1 day, but every pound was worth it! God it was delicious!
  • Just setting all arguments about appetite stimulation effects to the side, the largest study looking at diet sodas, the Framingham study showed that consumption of all types of soda, be they sugar-containing soda or diet soda, and even only one per day, was strongly associated with development of the metabolic syndrome:…

  • Amen. The potency of the stomach's own hydrochloric acid is over 1000 times greater than soda or food that you can consume. There's a greater risk to the bones from the carbonation. Also there's a risk from artificial sweeteners for developing metabolic syndrome (pre-diabetes and diabetes), obesity, heart disease and…
  • There are studies that suggest green tea extracts may be associated with weight loss, but the key to understanding these studies is to know the difference between statistical significance and clinical significance. While the studies may show a small statistical significance -- suggesting that the effect is not due to…

Maybe I'm assuming too much, but I'll bet that the original poster is not all that familiar with posting in a forum online and probably doesn't realize the very real risk that posting personal information poses. • Best avoiding artificial sweeteners -- they make you gain weight.
  • Exercise is one of the best treatments for depression -- and it helps you lose weight too! So if you can, embrace this so it can help kill two birds with one stone. I also strongly urge you to remove your phone number. You have no idea who or what nut might see it.
  • I drink lots of the stuff -- love it, especially Sencha, Genmatcha, gunpowder, and especially Gyokuro, simply the finest green tea there is. But I don't drink it for any "magic weight loss powers" because there aren't any. It's not bad for you, and it's likely not all that good for you, no more than coffee, but it tastes…
  • Yes, they will help you loose weight -- in your wallet, but unfortunately no where else. It's your money, so do with it as you please, but since science and common sense both tell you that there's no such thing as a free lunch, you are probably better off without these gimmicks.
