Awesome history!

I am a veteran marathon runner(Big Sur, New York, Boston - all 3:51) I turned fifty, got injured and gained sixty five pounds. Last summer I broke my leg in three places and spent the year recovering from that injury. I was able to get back to the gym last November unrestricted. I also joined MFP that same month. When you…

Nine months ago I was recovering from a serious leg break. I spent the three months either sitting or lying down because I was not allowed to put weight on my leg for three months. I started four months of physical therapy. I gave up junk food because knew if I didn't I would add twenty pounds onto the sixty I needed to…

I broke my leg last July and I couldn't put weight on the leg for three months. I spent four months in physical therapy and was given the green light to go back to the gym last November. I gave up refined sugar and junk food when I realized that if I continued my bad eating habits I would gain 20 pounds on top of the 60 I…

I am 10 weeks into my first round of P90X and I feel really great. The soreness will dissipate shortly and you will find yourself putting more into the program as the weeks go by and you get stronger. P90X is not a weight loss program or a big calorie burner. I still do 45-50 minutes daily on the Arc machine at my local…

Great story! Congratulations on reaching your goal! Good luck with the marathon - it will be great. I agree the success stories on MFP are the best motivators. Always positive and inspiring! Thanks for writing your soliloquy - I love a good story especially one with a happy ending.

I broke my leg badly last summer and had to have surgery. When I realized that I wasn't allowed out of bed - reality hit with the nurse bringing me a bedpan. They rolled me over and that is when I decided that I was going to lose the weight that I put on over the last ten years - forever!
-
Gorgeous! You look like a completely different person! Congratulations!!

Stick with positive people like all of us here on MFP! We all want the same thing - to be happy, healthy and fit. I am so impressed with your fifty pound loss. It is a milestone and one that I am heading toward as well. Riding your bike to the gym, working out and then riding home - wow you are super motivated and that is…

Thanks for posting your story and pic's. I am 56 in years but I am currently on a quest to "turn back the clock." Besides participating in MFP I recently began P90X. I am a shorty and you are right about how much is the right amount to eat. I am a former marathon runner(Big Sur, Boston and New York) and could pretty much…

I see a huge difference in your overall toning. Really impressive. I am on week two and I am just beginning to feel stronger. Were you able to do the pullups and push ups right away or did you work into them? Thanks.
