Work up to three days of strength/power training along with 4 days of cardio(45 minutes per) forever. Baby steps and small wins lead to big changes! I'm 61 and I am in the best shape of my life. It is a lifestyle, a cliche but true.

Have everything ready to go. Once I make my bed in the morning I lay out my workout gear and my running shoes. Also I have a strong cup of black coffee and I make sure I workout within the caffene effect window which lasts about 2-3 hours. I also look at it like it is my job. You can talk yourself into anything as well as…

I am 58 and have kept my weight off for well over a year. I joined in November of 2011 and it took me a year to lose the weight. I started out at 190 and am down to 110. I believe taking the long view, counting your calories and working out hard is the formula for losing weight and keeping it off. I recently published a…

I am 5'1", 57 and started out at 190lbs.. Lost 83 and have maintained at 110lbs. for well over a year. My advice would be to take the long view and don't be too hard on yourself. I can honestly say I have reached a level of fitness that I thought was lost forever. You can do this!

Fantastic Progress! You look strong, fit and happy!

Thanks for this! Maintenance in a nutshell.

I am 5' 1/2 and I currently weigh 107lbs. I started out at 182lbs. It took a little more than a year to lose the weight. I am quite happy where I am at and have been maintaining since October 15th. I stuck to my calorie allotment religiously, ate some of my exercise calories but never all. I worked out with intensity and I…

You look fantastic and the last photo exudes confidence and determination. The small steps are totally the key to success. Keep on keeping on!!

Great idea!! And it obviously works!!

I too am researching NRFLFW but what caught my eye about your post is that you are recovering from a broken ankle. I broke my leg/ankle in July 2011 and have spent the better part of the last year working my way back. I am in the fourth round of P90X and now exploring other forms of lifting. I love P90X and think it is an…

I am 5ft. 1/2 in., starting weight on MFP 182lbs., current weight is 107lbs. I have actually lost 83lbs since January 2011 and joined MFP in November of the same year. I know it sounds like a cliche but it is a lifestyle change. I realized that I needed to lose weight after seriously breaking my leg in July of 2011. I log…

How did you get hose awesome shoulders and arms?
-
@stines - Seriously? It is is a photo of her holding a gun without any explanation. There is no relevance to the "success stories." Your heart may go out to those who were killed in CT but that rings hollow when you are making excuses for a person to display such insensitivity at this point in time. Any other time no one…

Tasteless. Insensitive. Wrong.

Excellent post! You are an inspiration for healthy eating, weight training, and cardio. Your photos really contrast the picture of health both negative and positive. Congratulations on your achievement.

I am 5ft. 1in. and I started P90X last April. It is a tough program but well worth the effort. You start out by modifying what you can't do until yet to the point where you can. I just started my third round and I have excellent results. I love this program for it's diversity.

You have made amazing progress! Be proud you are well into your journey with fantastic results! What a difference!
