  • For me, fruit is more expensive for a few reasons. The calories in them don't really leave me feeling "satisfied" (hunger-wise) for very long at all. I can eat the same amount of calories in protein and be satisfied 3 times as long. Also, the calorie to sugar rating (I am diabetic) plus the fact that, for me, eating sugar…
  • Generally, I have various berries, if I am going to have fruit. I don't eat it everyday, it's more of an occasional thing, or if I'm looking to do a specific recipe with it. I'm also diabetic, so lots of non-berry types of fruit can cause my sugar to spike. I will eat other fruits though, cherries, banana, apple, kiwi,…
  • Idk...but I use organic coconut oil in my hair and it is woooonderful. I have thick, curly hair that needs to retain moisture.
  • That is a wonderful personal and couples health story, great job!
  • Also, you'd have to eat a LOT, I mean, A LOT of protein before your kidneys were affected. Even muscle men rarely eat eat enough protein to hurt them, but hey - don't trust me, I'm just a smiley face. Go do some internet research and verify.
  • It's recommended by many to eat 1g of protein per 1lb that you weigh. Plus, it keeps the hunger at bay.
  • Honestly, I've been where you are...and sometimes still can feel that way today, however, I got over it. No troll or elitist jerks is going to run me away from a tool that helps me achieve my goals. I love using the block feature, and the scroll really fast with my mouse wheel feature (aka, finger) and other maneuvers when…
  • Just to pitch in - there are plenty of turkey and chicken sausages that would taste just lovely on the grill. Meat. Good.
  • I don't think you do them all the same day. I'm pretty sure they are in stages, like...beginning, intermediate and advanced. I see some online suggestions to do beginning for 10 days, then move on (or do the tape until you have mastered it and it is easy.)
  • Not for sure here...but I would imagine that this will naturally work itself out over time. Seems like everything related to fitness is slow and steady wins the race, so I presume it works with water weight as well. You could do some reading about water and sodium ratios, if you think it could be related to that, by…
  • From what I understand, you want to do 2-3 sets of 8 or 9 reps. The last two reps of each set should be very hard to do....but doable. That is an indicator that you are on the right weight. When they become easy to do, increase the weight some. And I understand...you are still learning and were surprised. I think your…
  • I've gotten some looks, but I am never sure what they are thinking. I "TRY" not to fill in the blanks. They could be dazed by my stunning eyelashes for all I know... I understand the fear though, and I think you just have to not give a rats patootie who is looking and go anyway. At some point, it comes down to it's either…
  • I pay most attention to: cals, protein, carbs and sugar (I am diabetic.) And yeah, I definitely go over my protein, I usually eat about 160g a day, which is low for my 297 frame.
  • Madonna!
  • I haven't lost (or gained) anything this week. I did lose 9.75 inches though! Awesome! I did fairly well eating-wise this week. I did go to the movies, twice, and got 2 small buttered popcorn's...let me tell you, the first one was the most glorious tasting popcorn I have ever had. The second one (not in the same day...)…
  • That's awesome! Ironic too that my boyfriend sent me a link to Arthur's video today!
  • When it takes two "heave-ho's" to roll over in bed.
  • I have PCOS, add me! + bump for later.
  • ditto & love it.
in HRM?? Comment by Halleeon August 2012
  • I smoked for 15 years, regularly. I am SO glad I quit. I am on my ...idk 10th try, but this is the second time I have been successful for any length of time worth stating. The first time I quit was 2 1/2 years ago and I stopped for 1 year. I had some sort of emotional event (can't remember what it was now) and I didn't…
  • Swimming, invest in a kinect & xbox and the dance central games...I burn a ton of calories doing that. Try some youtube videos, they have all sorts of routines. DVD's...go on bodybuilding.com and try Jamie Eason's workout...just some random ideas.
  • My boyfriend/husband/boo has only continued to tell me he loves me no matter what I look like, size, shape, injury, no injury, purple or green. He gives me praise regardless. He does positively reinforce me by trying to lead a health lifestyle to the best of his ability and showing a genuine interest when I put in an…
  • FWIW, it seems to be a debate: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/109517-keep-hrm-going-after-workouts
  • Maybe I can get an answer within an answer here... My HR stays "in range" a few minutes after I am doing exercising. Should I leave the HRM on during this period and calculate those as "calories burned" or should I stop my HRM right after I am done and just not count them. :/
  • That's great!
  • Grats on the 20 pounds, that is SO great!! My suggestions, next weekend, take that sundress and get yourself outside. Go to a beautiful place that you enjoy and get your husband, friend, daughter, whomever, to take some flattering pictures of yourself. Enjoy the day! Ask your sister (frenemy) to take the picture down, in a…
  • There are plenty of treadmill "dance videos" on youtube. I wish I had the guts to do this at my gym...I'm scared they'd tell me to stop. But one day, I may just do it any damn way. :D If I had a treadmill at home, I would totally do this. It's what I want to do anyway when I'm walking and listening to my music.…
  • Yay! You are looking good and strong!
