I know how that is! My husband can gain or lose exactly the amount he wants to easily. I am so jealous! He has no trouble controlling what he eats or when, and does not have a sweet tooth, GRRRRRR!

Welcome cjsr2563! I think you will get lots of support here!
-
p.s. I dont really crunch so I'm using reverse crunches as a modifier on that. Push-ups can be hard so if you're new to working out, dorn't be afraid to try this challenge. You can try them leaning forward against a wall, counter or on stairs..the more the incline, the easier push-up will be. Challenge starts tomorrow!…

For the upcoming month, I'm pushing myself out of my comfort zone with workouts, tackling the workouts that are the most difficult for me (2 bad shoulder injuries=shying away from pullups!) and looking to sweat, sweat, sweat! No pain, no gain! I am crippled from leg day yesterday, but I like it! Also, I am adding this…

Welcome!!! I'm so glad I started this post! So many awesome 50+ folks out there! Its great for all of us to have each others support :)

rigmar1960, welcome aboard! 19 lbs since July, wow! Thats awesome, good for you! We all have to motivate each other :-)
-
shars66, that happens to me too. It can be easy to get discouraged but try not to let it suck you in. You wont just keep consistently dropping pounds. Your body will pause and adjust and then resume. I make a point of measuring myself because muscle is heavier than fat, so the scale can stay the same, and sometimes even…

This looks like a great challenge and lots of fun! I'm definitely in! Thanks for the invite

Hi all! Same boat here, 53 post-menopausal, lost 82 lbs and got healthy and fit in 2010. Maintained easily until 3 yrs ago, got sidelined by a few injuries. Held on well until last October when hubby had a stroke and there went the ability to manage my own health and fitness. I fell apart and gained 25 lbs. Came back to…

Menopause is rough and takes sooooo long to be done! It was about 6 years for me, it finally seems to be over. Food tracking makes you accountable to yourself so its great that you are doing that. Everyone is different, but I also struggled with overwhelming cravings for fat and sugar. What has helped me was amping up…

Exactly the boat Im in! We got this!

You're off to a great start! Take it one day st a time. We all stumble a little, just dont let it take you down
-
You should ne proud of yourself, you are doing fantastic! We all had to start at the beginning! Never worry about how much weight you use for anything. This is not only true for weight lifting but all training whether free weights, cables, body weight, trx.... Injuries happen when we go heavier or add stress that our body…

Thank you!

Hi everyone! Wow, I wasnt sure if anyone would reply to my post. Glad to meet all of you :-) Its definitely a struggle sometimes, especially once the big 5 0 hits. Its like 80% food habits, right? For me that is the hardest part...stress eating, medicating with sugar, and don't forget every social activity in the human…

Deadlift is one of the most effective compound exercises you can do in weight training. Forget about how heavy you can go right now. Its all about correct form first. Perfect your form and gradually increase weight as you are able. I saw your post about squatting which is another awesome compound exercise. Front squats may…

I believe I know what you're talking about, and yes there are actually some of us who do have a real addiction to sugar. I am one, so I understand. I've been battling this for many years, and friends don't understand. I found an article on it once and mentioned it to my sister. Turns out, she struggles with the same thing.…
