Just wanted to make the point that WW does not force you to eat their food. In fact, the last few versions of the program emphasize less processed food. The meals are intended as a convenience from time to time. They aren't meant to be eaten 3 times a day every day. I didn't eat WW food either. Too many suspicious…

There are some pastas like Dreamfields which have fewer digestible carbs. But IMHO, there is nothing wrong with eating a reasonable amount of any pasta from time to time. For me, about a half cup or a cup is a reasonable portion. The bigger culprit, I think, is what goes with your pasta. For example, a sauce of cream,…

If this is a buffet setup, have one plate of maybe a couple of foods and that's it. Spend the rest of the time as far away from the food as possible.

I can't drink milk anymore, so ir has to be soy milk now. However, lately, I've been buying 8th Continent. Less expensive than Silk, and IMO, tastes better.

Be sure to consume a small amount of oil every day...at least 2 teaspoons and preferably a heart healthy oil such as canola or olive oil. Also, add some nuts or seeds. These contain heart healthy fats too. A certain amount of oil keeps the digestive track well lubricated.

Be sure to get plenty of fiber. Drink water. And have at least 2 teaspoons of oil every day. Also, a yogurt with probiotics helps.

Just because cruise ships serve a lot of food doesn"t mean you have to eat it all. Some cruise lines have eliminated the midnight and late night buffers, and most now have menu options designated as healthy. I also found that I was better off not eating every meal in the main dining room. These cruises had a buffet on an…

You're on a crusade, aren't you? Second thread on evil carbs from you today. Do you have some repressed childhood memories of being force fed carbs by your mother? Cutting out whole food groups deprives the body of necessary nutrition. No food group is bad for you. What is bad is eating too much of any food. Very simply:…

Good for you if you can maintain a vegan lifestyle. It wouldn't work for me because it doesn't provide me with all the nutrients I need. Iron, for example. I'm anemic so I seem to need more iron than most. I could get some iron from a vegan diet, but not nearly enough. And I can't take iron supplements all the time because…

Years ago, a guy I had been dating took me for a ride in the country. We stopped at this bar in the middle of nowhere which he had frequented previously. When we walked in, a friend of his was at the bar. My date introduced me to the guy, then went off to see someone in the back. So his friend and I got to talking and…

I lost an inch in height, but that's due to osteoporosis, not weight loss. Lost a width in shoes. In fact, my feet were the second thing to shrink after weight loss. The first was my, uh, cleavage. Now if I could only get rid of the spare tire.

650 mg. of sodium in the Mushroom Mezzaluna Ravioli is not that low.

. And the MFP app works. Couldn't get the Weight Watchers app to work on my Droid.

Thanks. Just watched Mercy on YouTube. Awesome. Can hardly wait to see the boys in June-July.

Broth? There are low sodium broths available.

Zero points does not mean zero calories. It seems this has not been adequately explained to WW members. The fruit was designated 0 points merely to get people to eat fruit. WW does say that you are supposed to eat fruit "to satisfaction," not to gorge on it. And you are not just to eat 0 points foods to the exclusion of…

Same here. No one forces you to eat Weight Watchers foods. In fact, a steady diet of those foods, particularly the frozen meals, is not healthy. Low in nutrition, high in sodium and mystery ingredients. They are meant for convenience, but should not be used every day.

Be sure to consume some oil every day. Oil is essential to keep the organs running smoothly and that includes the digestive organs. You only need two teaspoons a day. You can use it in cooking or a salad dressing.

Does it have the same nutrition as milk and fortified soy milk (calcium, protein)?

As a cardiac arrest survivor, I urge you strongly to get to the hospital now. Don't wait till tomorrow. Too many people die because they ignore the symptoms. And a squeezing pain in the chest is a warning sign.

Yes, Oz is an MD, but he still gives bad advice. And as was already stated, he pushes way too many supplements that don't work and could potentially be harmful.

I lost my first 50 or so pounds on Weight Watchers, so the program did work for me. It did teach me to eat sensibly. I was able to eat out, attend parties and so on, without feeling guilty. I also learned not to cut out food groups, but instead, to eat from all food groups. And I didn't have to starve to lose weight. In…

Sounds like those people have far more problems than being bipolar. You would do well to distance yourself from them. They are toxic.

Beef and pork are fine if you aim for less fatty versions and trim whatever fat there is. The one advantage red meat has over seafood is a greater iron content. But no reason not to enjoy red meat. I usually vary each day -- red meat one day, seafood the next day, poultry the day after that, even an occasionally vegetarian…
