Woohoo for a plan! I have Hashimoto's so I feel your pain. I had a plan at the beginning of the year to lose 20lbs but well....all that leftover holiday food and booze was still lying around - and it was freezing outside....excuses, excuses! Sunday the weather was finally above zero and I felt fat, lazy and…

It boils down to this. Know where your food comes from. So many people have no idea where the food they put in their mouths came from. Every time someone cries alarm at these documentaries I wonder if they've ever been to a farm or if all they eat is manufactured crap. Any farmer worth his salt would not abuse his…

Black coffee here most of the time - but iced tea any flavor without sugar is good too! On a splurge green tea latte.

Daily half cup old fashioned oats in the micro top with a dash of cinnamon, handful of berries tsp of honey and 1/4 milk. The protein in the milk keeps the growls away, the carbs give me energy, the honey is full of good stuff and cinnamon warms you up. All told under 250 cal.

you'll laugh but sardines and crackers.....

I hear ya!

Most cheese is right around 100 cal per ounce with the exception of Ricotta - around 35 per ounce. That's because it is made with leftovers from making mozzarella -its mostly whey protein.

Step up and get back on track - every day is a new day.....every hours is a new hour.

I wouldn't say emotional per se - but I know without a doubt that when I want comfort food it will be a buttered bowl of macaroni smothered in cheap crappy parm cheese. Every time. Happy - celebratory - steak. Protein. Wine. Gin.

I did this hunting last weekend. Was at the gas station and saw red zingers - a child hood favorite. Mind you as an adult I've decided SEVERAL times that they are nasty and never satisfying. Yet somehow I still buy them and I'm still disgusted and unsatisfied after I eat one. I pawn the rest off on anyone else who will…

Me! Goal of 20lbs. So far.....1/2 a pound lost, gained two, lost half a pound, gained one, lost two pounds. You get the picture!
-
One day at a time. Small goals. Eye on the prize. You got this.

Mine is open - though probably not the best example :=)

43 here - I try to be active. I push myself often to get out of my comfort zone in many ways. Active, creative and spiritually.

Tons you can do! Yoga is my saviour when it comes to lower back pain. I found I was wasting money with the chiro until I googled basic stretches. Now anytime I feel a pinch or worse I carve out stretch time a couple times a day. Downward dog, cat/cow, cobra all for starters. Good luck!

Habits. Carve out some good habits for yourself and then stick with them. Coffee - one cup a day at 7am. GOOD coffee - never skimp. Breakfast - week days eaten at 7:30. Weekends are usually breakfast in bed with the hubs :=) Walk with the dogs most evenings when I get home from work and longer hikes on Saturday and Sunday.…

I have a garmin - you can find me on connect.

What caused the change?

Make and take coffee from home. Way better tasting and cheaper and if you figure in the added cost of the snack - cheaper still!

Love this one!

Goals. Calorie and movement goals. Also - in regards to that cookie. I set personal standards. I'll eat home made baked goods- nothing store bought or that has preservatives in it. I'll allow good chocolate once in a while but pass by the easy to find, cheap stuff. I'll allow a cocktail while I'm making supper, but I don't…

I have a copy of Quiet but never got through it. Felt a bit self-indulgent, to be honest. Maybe I'll give it another try...[/quote] Agreed

Balmy zero degrees Sunday morning when I was out trodding through cat tails in search of the elusive white tail deer. I earned my calories on Sunday - not so much on Saturday. I feel like I ate a ton and didn't work it off. My garmin died on Saturday and I had no way of charging it so I really have no way of measuring. I…

You can do it! We all slip now and again. Its getting up that makes us stronger!

One week alcohol free. Lost a couple of pounds - but eating ham on Sunday negated that with the salt content. Will see how that all shakes out later this week. Tea is my saviour.

Guilty of sloth mode this weekend. We had our first sticking snow of the season last friday and our temps have been in the teens and lower 20's with wind. Every day this weekend I told myself I need to get outside...yet I didn't. Will make up for it this week by getting in some time on the track and hopefully dig out the…

....and puzzling....

We had our first accumulation of snow last night. I got half an hour in at a local track. I might venture out tonight with the dogs - depending on the temps. I don't mind the dark, the cold temps...but I do mind the wind...I'm wimpy when it comes to that cold rawness. I live in the boonies so there is nothing to hide…

I bought xc skis last year and enjoyed the few times I was able to use them. I plan to hit up actual groomed trails this year. I also bought a used pair of snow shoes but need to arrange for the bindings to be replaced - got an email in to a repair shop today! Bring on the snow...just leave the wind.....
