That could have been written by a consultant at the " doctor approved, metabolic weight loss" clinic I once used. All they taught me was how to become an anorexic. Worthless apology when it became a sales pitch.

For me, an increase in healthy fats helps keep me satisfied more from meal to meal. Things like olive oil, coconut products, almonds/cashews, etc. - I try and consume with every meal.

I switched to Paleo & did my first Whole30 in April of this year. I saw improvements with my sleep and overall general "feeling & looking better" within two weeks. I kept fairly strict with few treats (occassional froyo type of thing) and then did another Whole30 last month. With both 30's - I noticed immediate stomach…

I'd never thought to try making BPC as a cold drink - great idea! I'm a die hard black coffee drinker but in my S.A.D. days enjoyed an iced latte - this could sub for that!

Cut up one onion, one each of red/yellow/orange bell peppers - lay in bottom of crock pot. Over that, place 2-4 lbs of your favorite protein (chicken, beef, pork), season w/ salt, pepper, whatever you like... Let it roll 6-8 hours on low. Shred it in the pot when done. Serve on a bed of broccoli slaw or lettuce or (like we…

Moral support, emotional support, pacing. Three best reasons ever. I agree with above comments about really knowing your crew well & them being experienced. The experience part is big - if they're a seasoned runner, but not so much experience on a trail then they could become more of a hazard than a help.

Family of 4 (including one body builder) costs $250 a week to feed. We eat SUPER clean (no dairy, grains, legumes, etc.) but can't afford organic everything. I shop around (FM, CSA, locals, etc.) best I can but can't get it under $1,000 a month.

My completely UNSCIENTIFIC **opinion**... Even though it has no calories, it leaves me craving something sweet. Drinking it doesn't satisfy that craving, so I go in search of something that will. Which is usually *not* zero calorie. For me, it's better to skip it.

You don't. The end. If you run, you're a runner.

You're not alone.

I've worn those for years as well. Switching to the Asics Cumulus with my next pair (seem to be the closest to the 2170s best I can tell). I tried them on at Sports Authority but will probably order them from Running Warehouse. If I could put my hands on more 2170s I'd buy every pair in my size I could find.

Check out http://whole9life.com and also the book It Starts With Food. Going grain/dairy/legume free for a time period (they suggest 30 days) to clean out your system then slowly reintroduce one group back at a time to see what (if any) negative effects you may have. 30 days isn't hard if you see dramatic improvements.

mmmm.....eggs..... eat the whole thing!!

2 eggs scrambled or baked as a "muffing" with diced mixed sweet peppers and homemade sausage (ground pork + seasonings) with 1/2 baked sweet potato. Protein, fat & carb.

After four weeks of trying to get around to making snicci's mayo & ranch, I finally made it & am now kicking myself for waiting so long. DELISH!!!!! http://mypathtopaleo.blogspot.com/2012/07/traveling-perfect-ranch-dressingdip.html?m=1

The term "natural flavorings" should usually make you put any package right back on the shelf. The FDA will designate substances added to foods as "GRAS food additives" - GRAS = Generally Recognized As Safe - and therefore exempted from federal food additive tolerance requirements. A VERY popular natural GRAS additive is…

It was super yum, but after the fact I admitted to myself I could have totally settled for one bite from my son's cupcake instead of devouring an entire one on my own. I had stomach cramps for three hours! Not worth it... Lesson learned!!
-
I ate the cupcake. And my stomach is TORE UP. Blergh...
-
I'm still going to enjoy my cupcake later tonight - but am staying on plan with the Whole30 otherwise. I don't want to fall off the wagon either so if I can't have this one treat without it being a major trigger then cupcakes will just have to go away in lieu of the occassional Paleo treat.

For the most part - I was able to find main entree's that with little modification would suit the tastes of my kids as well as my plan. Example: pasta sauce that was Whole30 compliant that I'd serve over pasta for them but spaghetti squash for myself. Or grilled chicken for me, add bbq sauce on theirs. With very little…

Day 31 My kids don't remember when their mom was fat. They don't remember the mom who sat on the couch all evening watching re-runs and eating hot dogs cooked in the toaster oven. They don't remember the mom - red-faced and out of breath from a simple preschool game of "duck duck goose" during a classroom visit. They don't…

I definitely see my treats remaining Paleo with few exceptions. I already count that cashew/almond butter as a major treat! I'd like to try some sweet potato brownies and cookies as well!

As sadistic as it is...I actually HOPE I feel like total crap after eating it. I really need to see that going sugar free this past month is doing something to the way I feel.
-
My opinion is that the best thing Paleo/primal/whole30 does is break you from relying on processed foods & unnecessary added sugars & artificial sweeteners. Even if you don't go full Paleo, it's hard to completely discount all of the principals behind it. I've tried WW, calorie counting, "dr supervised" metabolic weight…

I haven't seen my appetite diminish - but my desire for between meal snacks has gone away, so maybe there's that? I've also had some tummy and "lower plumbing" issues and wonder if it's my digestive track still cleaning itself out. Either way, I'm really ready for that process to complete itself! I'm not up for a Whole60…

It's day 30 for me (yay!) and I never felt the surge in energy levels that some speak of. I am sleeping way better & waking up easier but other than that...meh.

Just sent my request to join! I have thoroughly loved this experience!
