  • I'm on my way to visit my sister. It means 1 1/2 hours in the car, but we will have a picnic and photowalk when I get there. Have a great weekend everyone!!
  • I decided a bit more effort was needed at the gym. This morning I really pushed myself. I'm gonna be sore! I'm still going to go for 2 hours of standing at work.
  • I'll be camping for 8 days with my adult kids at the end of June. That always includes walks and swimming. In August, my husband and I go to a cabin near Yosemite. We take our kayaks and do a lot of hiking in the mountains. Both are very active vacations.
  • I've been most successful at using my standing desk. Most of the time, I add music and bebop while working. My co-workers just smile and shake their heads when they walk by my office.
  • My son graduated from college this morning. We had to walk a looooong way from parking space to our seats, pushing Grampa's wheelchair. Got in a lot of steps before having to sit.
  • I sang with the worship team at church today. That's 1.5 hours of standing/dancing around. Now we're off to the garden center to get seed potatoes and more vegetable plants. Then, planting and tree-trimming.
  • My son is graduating with his bachelor's degree and we are having a big party tonight. I'll be busy all day with preparations.
  • I love to put on music and dance in my office, using my standing desk. I'll plan to do that a lot today!
  • LOVE Bon Jovi! Sounds like great fun!
  • I go to the gym 4 mornings a week, but these ideas are perfect for the days I don't go. :)
  • Sitting too much today. Ugh!! Standing for the last 45 minutes of my workday.
  • This afternoon I walked an entire Sporting Clays course carrying my shotgun and shells. I shot pretty well, too. It was good day!
  • I did all this and shopped for and planted 9 flats of flowers and 7 tomato and pepper plants. I'm going to sleep well tonight!
  • Today I plan to work in my yard- moving the compost pile, moving a huge woodpile, and mixing compost into garden beds in preparation for planting. AND, shopping and food prep. Whew! Not much sitting today!
  • My bathroom is in need of a good scrub! Was planning to do that tomorrow, but may jump on it after work.
  • I have set my alarm for 30 minutes every time I sat in my office chair today. Not once was I still sitting when it went off. I guess I'm having a naturally active day.
  • I changed my "One Thing." I bought a standing desk and am working up to standing for 2 hours a day at work. I'm also using the bathrooms farther away. :)
  • Proud Gramma has to show her off...
  • Today I'm doing a photoshoot of my newborn granddaughter. That will mean 2-3 hours of squats. Then, shopping and cooking for the week.
  • I love the idea of 15 minutes a day. I often feel like my tasks are too overwhelming to complete. This would be a good way to chip away at something big.
  • My improvised standing desk. I'm starting out doing this twice a day for 30 minutes, working up to two hours a day.
  • I signed up this morning and decided to go for platinum! After sitting through a two hour meeting this afternoon, I moved my computer up and stood for the last two hours of my workday. Looking forward to tomorrow. :)
  • My "one thing" will be to use the downstairs bathroom at work and the upstairs one at home, instead of those closest. I'm also standing at a counter with my MacBook right now and will do that a lot more, instead of sitting at my desk.
  • I make my own cold brew each day and only add a small amount of half and half. I don't count my coffee as part of my water intake.

  • I've lost 25 lbs in 5 months. One of the things I did was cut out refined sugar completely. I find that if I eat sugar, I crave sugar. If I stay off it, I don't crave it. I really feel better without it. I didn't eat fruit at all for just 2 weeks, while I was getting rid of the cravings. Now, I eat fruit daily, without any…
  • I WAS a powerlifter and competed (and won) at age 41. You can do it!
  • My son had a kidney transplant when he was 8 years old. After a month of hospital food, my friend took me out for dinner at a steak restaurant. I had a simple grilled fillet, garlic mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. 20 years later it is still the best meal I've ever had.
  • I try to only make resolutions I KNOW I can keep. Last year, I resolved to never eat spinach on apple pie. The year before I resolved to not eat mushrooms on cherry ice cream. It's the only way I can be successful at these things. I do, however, have a few goals for 2013. I would love to eat healthier, exercise regularly,…
  • I was humiliated in a stretching class by the instructor who pointed at me at said, "Look! She can't do it!" I knew I was not very flexible and I was trying to improve. I never went back to that or any other class at the gym. Instead, I started lifting weights and at age 43 I won my first power-lifting competition. (Still…
  • "*While unloading your products onto my conveyor belt, please let it make sense. Don't give me two things of cleaner than a long line of random food items followed by clothes, more cleaner and other random crap. We have to bag things a certain way, cold food with cold food, cans with cans, cleaners/non-food items separate,…
