That wasn't directed at you...however, just because you don't agree with paleo, doesn't mean he's "wrong" in choosing to eat that way. And for the last time, he wasn't asking for people's opinions on the diet itself, nor was he promoting it and trying to convince people is the only/best way to lose weight.. he was asking…

No, I am not OP, and I am done answering questions. If you know what paleo is, then stop asking questions about it in a thread that is not aimed at looking for feedback on the diet. OP was simply looking for support while he eats strict paleo for 21 days. There are several different timeframes for what the initial period…

Dairy does not typically have a lot of carbs in it, unless it is high in sugar. Oh - probably should've also mentioned that paleo does not allow for any added sugars that don't naturally occur in fruits and veggies. So no, adding back dairy does not = giving it carbs. Why are we discussing this? This has nothing to do with…

No, the paleo diet is not a short term cleanse. It's a way of eating. And the "cleanse" OP is referring to is just the first stage of "going paleo". It's not actually a "cleanse" at all. It's essentially just ridding your diet of carbs from grains and starches and dairy. There's more to it, but that's the simplified…

Seemed more like it was a "bait and trap" question to me. *shrugs* OP - sorry, not trying to hijack your thread. I hope you can find some people willing to go paleo with you for the next 21 days. There's plenty of paleo eaters out there! :flowerforyou:

Are you seriously curious or just waiting for OP to answer so that you can rip into that as well? This post said it best:

It's really not meant to be a "diet" in the sense that it, in and of itself, will help you lose weight. From my understanding, this diet is more about helping your body recomp in conjuction with excercise (think crossfit, and lifting weights). It teaches your body to use fats as a form of energy in place of the carbs. It…

Nicely done!! You look amazing! Hopefully one of these days more women will catch on that lifting is GOOD FOR YOU!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

This. Also, Alpha is nothing to sneeze at. I sweat like a fool during the Alpha workouts, and prior to starting Alpha I've been lifting heavy, running, and taking boxing class for the last 1.5 years, so I consider myself to be in decent shape.

:flowerforyou: and also  Now....if only people would take the advice.

No kidding...and they're still not even positive where it's going to track. Lame. I saw my alert pop up for "winter storm warning" and thought :noway: and then saw what the predicted totals were and though "oh rly" I think it's because of the bad 40 car pileup on I-94 a few weekends ago when we were only supposed to…

If you are worried about the jumping and your knees, do NOT get Insanity. It is VERY high impact and you do a LOT of jumping, especially in the plyo DVD. It sounds like T25 is more your speed, I own both and while Insanity is a great workout, so is T25. I burn more calories per minute doing T25 because I don't have to keep…

That sounds like what my FT7 would report....maybe even a little on the low end. As others have said, it's just a tool...but having said that, using my HRM has allowed me to lose 60+ pounds based on the calorie burn it shows. *shrugs* I don't know that any calorie burn estimator/tool is 100% accurate.

Same here. Had to LIVE on credit cards for almost a year, lost the job, ex decided to up and leave, leaving me paying all of my bills PLUS his half of our "house" bills. It was horrible. Still trying to recover from it. It's extremely hard to pay off credit cards when you live alone and don't make a lot of money.

^^THIS! Is also super good with fresh Italian bread.

^^this. It's easy to look "perfect" when your photos are airbrushed and/or photoshopped. And for the record, I don't now nor have I ever wanted to look like one of them. I enjoy food. Additionally, while I'm in your camp and follow the heavy lifting regime...it's not for everyone. To each their own.

I really think (and I mean this to be helpful) that you have become scale obsessed. I've been known to do it too. Stop, take a breath and re-assess. You're by no means overweight and while I get that you might want to lose more, you have to realize that it's a slow process, especially when you don't have much to lose. Put…

Gawd I can't wait to eat all teh foodz!!!

A little late to the party, but CONGRATS!!! That is REALLY impressive... I'm crazy nervous for doing my first competition this coming summer (push/pull). Can't do full power because my squats are weaksauce (mainly because I hate them, lol).
-
Oh, I'm all in for naturally healthy stuff, no problem. I just didn't want people to start posting recipes for carb free/fat free mashed potatoes or things like that. Or hey, bring on the cauliflower, just don't try to tell me to mash it and replace the mashed potatoes with it. NO!! LOL

What do you put in your broccoli casserole? And good call on the pumpkin squares! I'm not a big fan of pumpkin pie either (don't get me wrong, I'll still eat it, but it wouldn't be my first choice among desserts).
-
How do you make your corn casserole?? That might be something I can add to my menu!

I saw a recipe on TV the other night using the Pilsbury crescent rolls. You roll them out flat, throw in some cheese and bacon, then roll it all back up and slice them into little rolls, bake like normal and enjoy. I don't see what could go wrong with this. YUM…

Lasagna on Thanksgiving!! EXCELLENT IDEA! (For the record, they all are, but I love me some Italian food)

I was looking at the Polar Loop too, so that I can only wear ONE fitness tracker as opposed to the fitbit flex, the HRM strap and HRM watch that I currently have. But...I was bummed to see that it doesn't link to MFP. :ohwell:

I have the same issue when I try to squat and/or deadlift without my trainer. I always go lighter and if I do go heavier, I usually end up getting hurt. Not sure why exactly I can't focuson form when he's not around...guess the fear of him yelling at me for poor form keeps my form in line. LOL. Also, I hate squats, but do…
