If there is something healthier than the version I'm buying and it's about the same price, I'll buy it. But certain things are more expensive, like lean beef and such. The past 2 days I've had turkey franks and banquet chicken nuggets for lunch and still stayed a tiny bit under my daily limit. I get small subs now instead…
-
We buy that olivio kind or whatever. It's supposed to be healthier for your heart because it's made with olive oil.
-
I basically eat the same things I've always eaten, I just reduce portions and measure instead of slopping it onto my plate without measuring. I can't afford to buy all healthy stuff, I shop sales. Oh and no-one in my family is a veggie lover, so it's hard to make family meals that everyone will eat, even DH will throw a…

Oh and I just realized this is in the wrong section! Today is NOT my day! lol. I hope someone can move it to the right spot.
-
^ lol, basically I didn't realize 2.5 oz of uncooked macaroni = 1 cup of cooked macaroni, so this whole time, I could have just entered 1.5 cups and have been done with it. But I was making it complicated.
-
lol, thanks. yeah I am not a very good math person. This is probably the most math than I've done daily since high school, dividing cups into tbsp's such. lol. I use this website to help convert amounts though. http://www.dianasdesserts.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/tools.measures/Measures.cfm I'm glad you guys helped me figure…
-
Thanks you guys! I was SO lost, lol. I try and use the stuff in the database, but more than a few times, I've noticed things were entered wrong, so I am a bit apprehensive about using them without checking. So yeah, now I still have 1,094 calories to eat because of my exercise calories.
-
Ok, so basically I should be saying I ate one and a half cups of macaroni then right? I never knew the box counted the unprepared as dry noodles, I thought it was just before the other ingredients were added. I'm just going to go by the prepared version because I have no clue how much that powdered cheese is, so I'm not…
-
lol, I'm so confused. Next time I'm just going to make the stinkin macaroni as it says to on the box. Although I don't NEED 4 tbsps of margarine in my mac n cheese.
-
Well the noodles were cooked, just the butter and milk hadn't been added yet. So tell me if I'm right. I scooped 1 and a half cups of cooked macaroni into my bowl. this means I ate 12 oz of mac n cheese. So if a serving size is 2.5 oz, I take 12 oz and divide by 2.5 to get how many servings I had, which put me at 4.8…

So I really wanted some today, I figured I have been snacking to eat my exercise calories lately, so might as well just use them at lunch right? Well now I have only 395 calories left for the day, over a cup and a half of mac n cheese! I just sat here for 30 minutes figuring this out, because I was sure it had to be wrong,…

I guess I'm going to have to get a food scale. I don't mind guessing, but some things I think it'll be hard to guess, like chicken breast and such.
-
I was making lunch (turkey franks) and noticed we had 4 slices of thin & trim turkey left, so I ate them, lol. I have tons of calories left for the day because I am doing a spinning class later, so I wasn't concerned. But how do you measure out slices? I added t to my food diary as 2 servings, each serving is 2 oz. Think…

You can keep going! 14 lbs is a lot to be proud of, think how how awesome you'll feel at 20, that's only 6 lbs away!
-
lol, well I don't know if they have them everywhere. It's a shake I get at the juice bar in the gym I work at. It's called 'The Chocolate Factory' shake.
-
One of my favorite shakes (not my top fave, but it's still good) at work (I work at a gym) only has 137.5 calories in it and it's pretty decently sized. I was so excited! AND it's chocolatey, so I'm psyched! I've never looked through the shakes at work, and looked at the calories, my fave that I used to get all the time…
-
well silly me, just remembered I had some honey wheat pretzels at work that I forgot to add, so after adding them, I only have 77 left over. So yeah, I'm done for the night. But this is day 2 of being within my calorie range, I've been a member here now for 4 days and the first 2 days I was over on my calories.
-
Is it ok to not use them? I am not hungry, and I even managed to treat myself with 2 toaster strudels and still have these calories left over! lol. I feel like it's too late now to use them, 187 won't hurt right? I know eating too little of calories isn't good either, so I want to make sure.

I'm 5'4" and my current weight is 176.5, my first goal weight is 140 and then I hope to slim down a bit more even from that.
-
No body pump classes, but there are quite a few others. I don't really ever see the trainers, as I work in the gym's daycare room. We're kind of off on our own in there and don't get to talk to people much outside of that area. If I ever do see them on the floor, they are working with a client, so I can't interrupt. I…

Thanks, I'll check out that link. I work at a gym (I'm ashamed to admit I've not used my free membership much until last week) so I can take classes for free and there is a pliates class there. I wonder if I should look into it.
-
Thanks everyone! Oh and it is such an eye opener. I can't believe how many calories are in some of the things I was eating, like Kraft mac n cheese, oh my goodness, that was almost 1/2 of my daily calorie allowance! I would eat big bowls for lunch.
-
I just got into spinning a few weeks ago, but that is basically just fun cardio. I don't know how to lift weights correctly or use the weights/resistance machines at the gym and I don't have the $ to pay a personal trainer to show me. I was thinking of trying yoga for toning, but what else can I do?
-
I still have 45 calories remaining and it's 11:14 pm, so no more eating for me now. I signed up 2 days ago and the first 2 days I was over my calories, day one, by 520, and day two, by 114. So to be under by 45 (not too much) is exciting for me! I think it's because I had an apple and a banana for breakfast this morning,…

Thanks for the reassurance. I think I just got overwhelmed that to stay thin, I'd have to count calories for the rest of my life! I've never ever counted how many pretzels I ate (obviously part of the problem, but still...) And logging my ketchup, mustard, etc is very overwhelming too.
-
Thanks. Today I got a bit overwhelmed, but I just figured I'd take it day by day. I still have a little over 800 calories left for dinner.
-
Yup, I'm totally digging these recipes and can't wait to try out a few. Also the bite it/fight it product recommendations. I am giving up Kraft mac n cheese in this house, I can't believe how many calories are in it! I mean, even for my 3 year old, (who's obviously not on a diet), that's insane. I am going to get that…

I think the name of it is 'Hungry Girl' I just looked at the website, seems like a good one. I love the section on what's better to eat at Taco Bell, wish I would have read this last night! http://www.hungry-girl.com/

Thanks! I'm all excited to join in here.

I just joined this site. I started doing spinning classes last week and it kind of threw me forward in my weight loss attempts. I've never liked a class as much as spinning, I love pushing myself in that class, and now I look forward to going to the gym. I've never steadily gone to the gym before, even though I work at one…
