  • Totally agree with you there! I love MFP, I just really like understanding what else is out there especially when someone so close to me is using WW and we eat meals together often.
  • I agree, I would like to see if my diet is within WW parameters, just for the heck of it. I think I'll try that tomorrow when I have time to burn. Thanks for the idea!
  • I have a nice go-to dinner: Ingredients: 1 bag of romaine lettuce Cheese tortellini Light or Fat-Free Ceasar dressing Light Croutons Grated Parmesan cheese Boil the tortellini according to the package. Mix 2 Tbsp of the dressing with 3 cups of salad salad and a hefty shake of the cheese. Put about 10 tortellini on top with…
  • When I was a vegan, I would sometimes mix it up and eat a "non-breakfast" food for breakfast. Sometimes I would have a Boca burger on a piece of toast with lettuce, tomato, and onion with a baked sweet potato on the side. Super filling, healthy, and complete with protein. Good luck! I loved being vegan, but due to some…
  • Thanks everyone, I think I'll be signing up for my membership by the end of Thursday! You all are the best!
  • I don't know what the places you'll go to will have to offer, but my new favorite is either orange flavored vodka w/ seltzer or 3 olives cherry vodka with light or diet cranberry juice. Not sure about the calories, and the orange vodka drink is strong, not really fruity per se. Have fun, happy birthday! PS- don't behave!…
  • My roomie and I were talking about eating healthier and losing weight when she said, "Well at least you have a flat stomach!" WHAT??? I DO???? Since when???? It was nice to hear :blushing:
  • Mine does too, it makes me look like I'm working incredibly hard when I'm actually just doing my usual thing. It is SO annoying! I heard that if you run really cold water over your wrists, it brings blood away from your face to try to warm up the colder area? Not sure if it works because I never have the patience to stand…

  • I would be so happy to have the problem  But I understand the confusion, WTHeck?!?! But congrats on progress!!!! :flowerforyou:
  • I've dealt with it a lot, and I'm curious about answers too!!! What I do when I have absolutely NO idea is to try to find a middle of the road calorie number and use that. It isn't the best way AT ALL, but at least you're not purposefully underestimating or accidentally overestimating and depriving yourself of cals you…
  • I didn't think I was being unsupportive by pointing out a word-usage error. And apologies for "beating a dead horse," but alas that horse must still be kickin' if people keep using "lose" and "loose" interchangeably. Like I said, just pointing out something that I've noticed as happening more often! No offense meant!
  • Non-scale victory! It is one of the most important terms used in weight-loss, in my opinion! xoxo
  • This is a good idea! I've had a very bad day, so I've been slightly teary-eyed. When I go to dab with a tissue, I noticed I can feel my cheek bones more! Kinda silly, and no worries, I'm feeling a bit better now that the work day is almost done! I'll try to be grateful for NSVs more often! :flowerforyou:
  • Wine has about 100 cals for a small-small/medium sized glass. And supposedly red is good for the heart  I say all wine is good for the soul, but that is just me! :flowerforyou: Have fun!

  • Just wondering if there are any studies to back this up? If there are then perhaps you should post the links, giving random info that doesn't necessarily have back-up isn't the best idea. Opinions are respected, but if you're claiming this as fact, please let us know how you know this. Not to be a Negative Nancy, I just…
  • Is being humiliated whenever you get carded a law in those states??? I.Would.Die. What states are these? I'm not moving to any of them ever!!!!! :noway:
  • Google says 14 lbs to a stone... I like saying I have 2 stone to lose WAAAAY better than 30 lbs!!!
  • I'll try to give up alcohol! It is definitely my indulgence weakness and it also causes me to eat more. I'm getting ready for my first BIG race (10 miles) that is coming up in 10 weeks, and I need to A)lose weight and B) stay motivated. Alcohol is stopping me from doing both!!! I'm going to start now, but I'll make the…
  • Bahahahaha I want what she's having, only veggie burger!
  • LOL! Sneaky, I like it! But I think I might then be too paranoid to actually enjoy myself (if one can call running 10 miles primarily uphill enjoyable). But I will keep that in mind if I feel especially rebellious or see other people using theirs * if they're doing it, I can too!!! *
  • "All I Want for Christmas is You"- Mariah Carey version. Fits my life right now LOL
  • Dear All of the People Who Have Interviewed Me Over the Past Two Weeks, Please call me back offering me a job... soon. As in now. I'm not looking for a life-changing career, just a nice job that I like with good pay. I'm running out of money and all I really want is to be able to go to happy hour and not worry about glass…
  • OMG trying the triscuit/avocado/pepper thing asap! YUM!
  • Not sure about the negative calorie bit... An empire apple (small) is 80 calories... a hard boiled egg is 70 calories, so by that logic, an egg would also be a negative calorie food. I like your food ideas, all great stuff, but I really wouldn't believe too much about negative calorie foods!
  • English Professor's daughter here... Been driving me nuts as well! :blushing:
  • What I like to do is eat non-breakfast items for breakfast: Veggie burger over brown rice.... Baked sweet potato w/ steamed broccoli and feta (which I haven't had in forever but YUM!!!) ... Mix it up and listen to your *healthy* cravings! Best of luck! xoxo Maggie
  • As a woman who has battled anorexia on and off, seeing this site helps me see that at my goal weight (110 from 150ish), I will be looking so good! For a while I was thinking that I will look huge at 110 compared to my "happiest" weight of 100, but now I understand that I need to get over myself and see that 110 is AWESOME!…
  • I'm going to be starting p90x soon, what order do you do it in? And what disk is the most cardio focused? Congrats on being that "skinny girl", you seem to be making real, valuable changes!!!! xoxo Maggie
  • Thanks ladies... I feel so stressed that I'm being ungrateful, but I know this is the best decision for me! xoxo to you all! Maggie
  • As a certified personal trainer from the YMCA (not the BEST certification, but I learned some) I would say that FabFifty is right: Do a total body workout... I never believed in weight training when I was skinny (5'1'' and 100 lbs at 18) but now that I am heavier (5'1'' and 149 lbs at about 22) I believe in it totally...…
