Progress end of week 2 Been a bit of a hairy week with inconsistent calorie intake and also 1 less workout than usual. I haven't counted one of the days in my averages as, although I know I went over my calorie goal by some way, I was also horribly sick a few hours afterwards so have no clue as to how many calories I…

There are worse things. If you enjoy it and can fit it into a healthy diet I don't see the problem!
-
Lol, geez is that relevant? I'm an Aquarian...
-
Hhahaha, both of the above! But then I'd have to initiate something, because that's what I usually do when I see no one else will!

I am just picturing the whole lot of us sitting in a room together, staring at our toes!

I can count my real friends on one hand. Unfortunately none of them live in the same country as me! I don't have any real friends where I live (apart from my husband), and I've been here for about 10 years. Sometimes I think I'm just too picky. I find a lot of people just too frivolous for me, and that bores me. At other…

Are your weightloss goals set too high? Maybe if you reduce your expectations by setting your loss to only 1lbs per week or even 0.5lbs per week you''ll find it easier. That way you can eat more per day and won't feel so deprived. If you're starving all the time you'll feel miserable and won't stick to your diet anyway, so…

You look great, and oh so pretty...

That's great news! Well done Chinamonkey!

* pesto, avocado, cheese, artichoke and rocket sandwich (my favourite sandwich ever!), best on wholemeal artisan bread or sourdough * curried egg (egg, mayo & curry powder) * falafel and salad * marinated pan fried tofu with hot sauce and grated carrot (and variations thereof)

Just make sure you're not netting fewer calories than your BMR, otherwise you risk crushing your metabolism and your weight loss with plateau after the first few weeks. You only need a 500 cal defecit each day to lose 1lb per week, so if you are doing a lot of exercise it's important to eat at least most of those calories…

Progress end of Week 1 Current BMR = 1517 Goal Weight BMR = 1413 Average calorie intake per day = 2101 Average Excercise burn per day = 545 Average Net Calories = 1556 Weight lost this week = 1.6lbs

Hi, I just sent you an invite to the group. Hope we can help!

Simple answer: you're not eating enough. 1200 calories per day is fine if all you do is lie in bed all day, but you're working out a lot and should be eating more, otherwise your body only has around 700 calories per day to survive which is killing your metabolism. You should be netting at LEAST 1200 calories per day after…

That sounds correct to me!

I was in that boat too, that's why I've just started eating around 2,000 calories per day, which still leaves me with enough deficit to lose my 1lb per week but without destroying my metabolism. I've already lost over 1lb in less than a week this way. If your maintenance calories are 2758 then to lose 1lb per week you…

Ooops, sorry! BMR, yes that's it!
-
You may think this sounds counter-intuitive but I suspect you may not be eating enough (1,200 is below your BMR for your height, weight and age). Even if you did nothing but lie in bed all day your body would need 1368 just to maintain your current weight. This link may help to work out your energy needs based on your…

I don't know all your vitals but with all that activity you should probably be eating AT LEAST 1800 cals per day. Try the link below to work out your maintenance requirements. Be honest with your activity levels and read the descriptions at the bottom of the page (if for example you only to Heavy activity 3-4 times per…

Oh dear, I sympathise. I had a similar problem with a co-worker who was/is also trying to lose weight. She didn't comment on my food so much but every time she saw me she would make some comment about the shape of my body or that my *kitten* was getting smaller etc etc... Also telling me not to lose too much weight because…

Thanks Heybales. I'm really surprised by it, I was expecting to put on weight at first. I think perhaps the times I've thought I was overeating or not exercising enough in the past couple of months have unexpectedly saved my metabolism!

Just thought I'd provide an update on progress. I have been eating on average just over 2000 calories per day since Wednesday (up from around 1350-1750 per day). I should be eating slightly more according to this method but only by about 100 calories, and 2000 is all I can manage at the moment. I weighed in this morning to…

I sit at a desk all day too, but according to this method I should be eating at least 2,000 per day considering I also work out moderately 4-5 times per week. I had a quick go at putting your details into this site that Heybales recommended: http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/CalRequire.html I had to guess your height (I put…

Holy crap! That sounds good. I've never seen that in the UK, thankfully!

Oh, and I can't resist my mother-in-law's cooking. Just as well she lives in another country!

Any patisserie product, sweet or savoury. Has to be good quality though, I can easily resist the supermarket rubbish!

You can always change your settings so that your diary completion isn't shown in the news feed.

I find that hard to believe. I think maybe you should check your calculations
