Gosh I hope not...I am a coffee addict. So far it hasnt seemed to cause me any issue. I do still take a daily prevacid though.

Plain white vinegar added to the rinse cycle should help. And no...it make your clothes smell like vinegar

Those are great for strengthening your core muscles and it is never a bad time to start doing them in my opinion. As for fat loss, eating at a deficit and lifting some weight are hard to beat. Its all about calories in and calories out..pretty simple. Cardio is very good for you also, but building muscle from lifting will…

I weigh every day but I only *count* my Monday weigh in usually. I have learned to not get too freaked out by scale fluctuations. I am sometimes up and down by several pounds. Its usually just fluid weight. It is pretty hard to gain 3 pounds of fat in just one day! If it is going to discourage you too much I would step…

Went from a *spilling out of the sides* DD to a *barely fits* D. Its sad really...much more and I am going to look like I have tube socks with golf balls in them!

Welcome! Its a great tool to help you along the way to your goal. Congrats on taking that first step

I tend to drop people after they have been inactive for at least three weeks. I know sometimes people go on vacation and dont log during that time. I would still log..because even the ugly days can help you learn something...but thats just me. By the way...anyone feel free to add me anytime.

yummy...salty crunchy foods! Me too! The only solution I have found for myself is just to not keep them in the house. I am the first to admit I have no control over them. I keep some of those 100 calorie packs of crackers or cookies in the house now and I am able to just open one. I cant keep boxes of stuff though...I will…

Feeling your pain...I have had a series of stalls! This last one lasted almost 2 months...been losing and gaining the same stinking three pounds. The last couple of days the scale finally started moving again after I increased my calories and protein even more. Hopefully this works for me for a awhile longer. Stalls really…

Lets see...RNY 4/412 I am about 10 months out now. So far I have gone from wearing size 30/32 or 4X to size 16 or XL. I actually love to exercise now (who would have thought it?) and feel better than I have in years! I no longer take medication for blood pressure, or cholesterol and both are perfectly normal. My resting…

I actually make a dip like this for tuna (or any other meat too) using 0% fage plain greek yogurt, grated cucumber to taste, and greek seasoning (found in the spice aisle). Mix it all together and let it sit in the fridge for a bit for the flavors to sort of marry each other  It keeps well in the fridge and works…

No fair...the women with my stats all look skinnier than me *sigh*

I have been there...I get it. At my heaviest I carried 335 pounds on this 5'1 body. It was a miracle I could manage to get through a 12 hour shift at work. Today I am at 202...my lowest weight since I was in high school. I actually enjoy exercising now. I had to start small..just walking down the street to the mailbox…

Congrats on working toward your fitness goals! I know how tough it is to make time. I work full time as a nurse and I am currently in graduate school. I seem to have little time for anything else. The truth is though, if we don't make time to take care of ourselves, then we arent going to be very much good to the other…

love it!

In that pre0op diet phase just do whatever works for you. That two weeks goes by pretty quick, believe me and it gets easier as the days go by. Dont worry too much about calories right now. Its going to be quite awhile before you are anywhere close to 1200 calories. The thing to worry about now is protein and staying…

I had a tuna melt...314 calories and 32 gms of protein packed yumminess

A really dip for lean meats or chicken: 0% fage plain greek yogurt grated cucumber ground greek seasoning (found in the spice aisle) Yummy greekness!

I think people just arent used to seeing us smaller so when we lose weight we look really small. I have had lots of people tell me...you are getting so skinny...and I still want to lose another 70 pounds. I just tell them thanks...that I am working hard and move on. Most of the time they mean well.

I think I love you..

Best advice ever! Just...don't plan on leaving the house

As long as it fits in your daily calorie goal go for it. In my opinion, its all about calories in/calories burned. No matter what time of the day you eat it.

I still have a hard time with this. Sometimes I get a quick glimpse and think ..wow...but then it is gone again. I can see things like collarbones and such...I know I am wearing smaller clothes. But its a brain thing I suppose. I have heard it takes time for your brain to sort of catch up. I find myself instinctively going…

Welcome! This site is a great tool but like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it. Feel free to add me if you like and congrats on your decision to get healthy. That first step is always the hardest! :flowerforyou:

I personally dont think you can go over on protein. MFP recommendation is pretty low. I typically get at least 100gm/day.

oops..sorry...double post...stupid computer!

It really depends on your job I think. I am a nurse and they do not allow light duty. It is either full on or nothing. My surgeon would not release me with no lifting restriction until after 6 weeks and my job requires a lot of lifting and time on your feet. I probably could have gone back after about 4 weeks...but I wasnt…

Me too. At 9 months out now I find that I can eat a lot. Well..again...not a lot like in comparison to me a year ago...but you get the idea. My weight loss crawled to stop and I was actually gaining a bit. I increased my calories and protein and the scale finally started to move again. Its hard though...I am at a point…

wow..thanks so much for posting this. I have just recently decided to start increasing my calories since I have been eating pretty lo cal for several months now and my weight loss crawled to a stop. It makes sense...but it still scares me. Looking at your success really made me feel better about it. Great job!

I had an umbilical hernia but they repaired it with my bypass. Hope it all works out for you!
