I am 42 years old, 6 ft, now 269ish. I eat 1970 calories, and usually eat at least half of my exercise calories back. I have lost 25 pounds since Jan. 2, 2012. I exercise 3-4 times a week, try to do something that equals about 400 calories used each time. I didn't lose much the first two or three weeks, but then it started…

I have learned that I'm not nearly as good as I thought I was at estimating how many calories is in a meal, especially in restaurants. I have also learned that exercise really does give me more energy.

You look wonderful, and I'll bet you feel even better. Congratulations- amazing accomplishment.

Thrilled for you! You must feel even more amazing than you look! I have the same starting stats, so it's especially inspiring to me to see your success!

Cheerios Multigrain peanut butter! Just discovered them!

I started MFP in November 2011, but not seriously. I didn't actually track anything much...Started seriously in January, have lost 25.4 of my goal of 100 pounds. I am AMAZED and AWED by what people on this board are losing- you are all such an inspiration!

I hurt my knees (extremely painful) with the wrong shoes that I bought on sale. I was mostly walking with an occasional jog. Went to a running specialty store, got fitted, and haven't had any pain since. They said to replace every 400 miles or so. My shoes were about $90.00 USD.

I aim for 400 calories too, but if I don't have a lot of time, I do at least 30 minutes of something.

I'm thinking a piece of jewelry. I have enough to lose that I will need clothes, too.

We are here! I want to lose exactly 100 pounds. Check out the Groups too. I found some really supportive women on those boards. Send a friend request if you'd like!

I just did this when I restarted MFP. My thoughts are that this is a tool to help me make the changes I want to make. It would be great if I somehow help other people make changes, too. But, for me, seeing the larger loss number makes me feel more motivated. So, my advice would be to do what feels best for you. This really…

These folks are right on. Also, there are free/reduced fee counseling agencies all over the place. I work for one. If you or a relative has a family doctor, ask for a referral. Ask a church employee. Call your local hospital or health department, or even a nearby college. There are free groups, as mentioned already, and if…

Both bassoonists and oboists! I'm an oboe player- majored in music in college- and still play fairly frequently, though I make my living as a psychologist.

I totally understand. I am working out with a friend who is 5'2. I am 5'11. When I lost weight several years ago, no one noticed until I lost like 25 pounds. She's lost 6 pounds now, and people are already noticing....

I don't have any advice, but I am sure wishing I had grown up learning about nutrition and foods!

Same thing happened to me! I've been under my calories (just barely) and have exercised, but what loss I have showing on my ticker is from before the holidays! I just started logging and being serious about this last week, so I was hoping for a significant loss....
-
Congrats- you look amazing, and I can only imagine how good you feel!

I'm looking too. I joined in November, but did basically nothing. I'm back on the wagon now.

Definitely boobs, exactly the one place i really don't need to lose.
