Good morning, I have over 150lbs to lose but when I start to think about that large of a number, I get scared. A few years ago I used MFP to kick-start a healthier way of living and lost around 30lbs in about 4 months. I learned alot of things about myself during that time - I could move more than I thought, I could…

Thank you so much for sharing your story. It is very inspirational and I will re-read it when I feel my journey is impossible. :flowerforyou:

Me too please! I have over 150 to lose. I did well the first time around with MFP, but then hit my mental-wall and crashed. I've been back on my journey since Monday. I would love the support and encouragement, and would love to cheer on others.

I just came back from a cruise. I found eating in the dining room was the best option for me. My cruise had a healthy menu in addition to the regular one and the food was preportioned. Watch out for the loads of bread available - if that is your thing. I went to the buffet which also lots of healthy choices, but the food…

Started towards the end of Nov 2011 with 310 lbs on my 5'4" frame. I lost 27 lbs pretty quickly. Today I am at 281.6. It has been a very long time that I have been under 278. I am now really struggling with the food and keep jockeying within 5-7 pounds. I am starting to have some health issues as a result of my eating and…

My ringtone of my 17yr old son is Stewie as well. Everyone laughs cause he is just like that. I love it! Everyone else... well, I'm a dork... theme from Ice Castles But now I have a bunch of new ideas to change it to - must do tonight.

I'm in. Although I didn't actually report anything for January's challenge, I kept coming back to the thread and read everyone's progress - very inspiring. With everything else that I have going on, I am going to set what I think is an achievable walking goal for February and try to hit 12 miles in the month. That's 3…

Great thread! I will embrace my Cat Lady-ness, and come back and post pictures of my kitties.

I looked recipes online as well. It looks like a wonderful dish - I might even try to make it sometime. I agree with what's been said above. Keep to the leaner pieces of chicken without the skin, use basmati rice (whole grain if possible or another kind that is slower for your system to digest), add an estimate for the…

Can you plan your daily calories around it? How about measuring it out and then having some sides like fruit or vegetables? Is there a way of modifying the recipe/ingredients to make the dish balanced and nutritious - maybe using chicken breasts or seafood? Since I have not heard of this particular dish these might not be…

I stick in an herbal peppermint tea bag with the green tea and make 2-3 cups at a time. I steep for 5-10 min to get the full strength of the mint. The mint also helps with hunger and digestion. Sometimes I change it up and use a lemon tea bag. I found that orange didn't work well, but that may be my preference. Good luck.

Thanks for the link.

Thanks for the info. How comfortable do find the strap in water?

I've been researching them too over the past couple of days. I did learn that all Polar HRMs do well in the water, so you could get the FT4. That's what I've decided to get. Now to find a fairly priced one in Canada.

Literally, I just did that the night before last on a box of shortbread cookies I found from Christmas. Makes NO SENSE!

It's great to find this group. I am afraid 60 miles is too high for me, but I am willing to try. I recently bought 4 of her DVDs and have enjoyed the couple of miles I've tried. However, I can't see the calendar at Leslie's site as her Walk Club is full and they are not accepting any new registrations. If anyone can share…

I have a total of 165 lbs to lose to be a 'normal' weight. I have lost 18 lbs so far since joining mfp late Nov. I've pretty much kept to my mfp calories of 1,500 calories a day - except around Christmas when I allowed myself to go over a pre-planned amount. What has been helpful to me is a few things: 1. I decided to be…

My cats like to scratch the cardboard scratchers. I had to try a few things before I found out what they really like. Alternately, my cousin uses soft paws on their two cats and I have friends who regularly clip the nails (like monthly). You can often take them to the vet for nail clipping too. Scratching has two purposes…

About 6 weeks ago, my doctor refilled my Zoloft prescription (which I had stopped taking) and then gave me a prescription for Wellbutrin after I mentioned I was surprised to have gained weight this year since everything in my life was a bit more stable. Per my doctor, I take Zoloft at night to reduce the snacky feelings…

I would have to concur with those that have posted that you should eat more. I started at 310lbs and have lost 15lbs in 5 weeks here on MFP. I eat around 1,500 calories / day, and that is with my weight loss goal set at 2lbs per week and having a completely sedentary lifestyle. I try to eat really filling foods like whole…
