I'll agree with the others who have said that limiting fruit intake (even with the same calorie intake - which means increasing both protein *and* fat) can make a difference in weight loss. I've read some compelling explanations for why this is so - but most compelling to me is my - somewhat short-duration as yet - sample…

I'm guessing it's because you're a woman... ;o) All kidding aside, since it is difficult to change our own perceptions of how we look, seek out some objective measurements (body measurements, perhaps?) that you can use rather than relying solely on your subjective perception of how you look.

I'm trying to keep my net* carbs below 30 grams per day, and getting almost all of my nutrition from protein and fats. Sounds counterproductive, but I'm never hungry before it's time to eat and I'm losing weight more easily than I ever have. All that to say... I'm not the one to ask if you think you're getting too much…

CSW: 280 LWW: 267.8 (Actually two weeks ago - missed weigh-in last week due to being out of town) CW: 263.6 LO: 4.2 TLO: 16.4 Pretty good last couple of weeks. I'm averaging more than 2 pounds per week over the last couple of weeks, and those are weeks in which I was limited in how much I could control my diet due to…

Personally, I can't drink diet sodas because I'm allergic to the aspartame. However, unless you are one of the extremely tiny number of people that have that particular problem, there's no reason to think you shouldn't have Diet Coke in moderation. I would suggest, however, that your health would be well served by getting…

Yeah, that's what I figured. My understanding, though, is that the animal style doesn't add additional dressing. It just adds mustard and onions. Perhaps not perfect - but certainly not bad. Looking at the nutritional information I can find for the two ways of doing it, animal style doesn't seem to add any "bad stuff"…

I'd go one step further and suggest Protein Style *and* Animal Style (grilled onions and mustard). It's excellent, and seems to be better quality ground beef than other fast food places.

CSW: 280.0 (June 7th) LWW: 269.8 CW: 269.3 LO: 0.5 :grumble: TLO: 10.7 Off the pace considerably this week. Since my calorie in/out ratios have continued to be good all week, and I've been exercising quite a bit, I think that my "real" loss is higher than that. I know when starting an intense workout regimen that happens…

Y'all are rewarding yourselves with new clothes. I feel like I'll be punishing myself with new clothes, since I'll have to go shopping. :grumble: I'll still do it, though, so I won't have the option of gaining weight again. As far as a reward goes... I think I'll just be happy not being overweight. That will be…

This. Anybody who looks at their sign will find stuff that is good for them to do in order to lose weight. ("Avoid sugar." "Eat more fiber." etc.) It has nothing to do with where the stars might have happened to be relative to the earth when one was born. Follow any of them to improve your weight loss. Follow all of them…

Realized I left off my info. I'm male, looking to lose 30 pounds during the challenge and 80 pounds overall. I've just started the RushFit workout DVD's, which will take me for the next 60 days+. My biggest challenge is taking the time to get both exercise and enough sleep.

I could be a challenge buddy. :)

Everquest is still up? I may have to give it another try... :o)

CSW: 280.0 (June 7th) LWW: 272.8 CW: 269.8 LO: 3.0 TLO: 10.2 I've been weighing myself daily, and have noticed that my weight loss has slowed down somewhat. (This, of course, is to be expected. I started working seriously on my fitness/weight loss on June 7th, and the first few pounds are the easiest.) Looking back a week,…

I've just joined the group, but I'm setting the following goals: - Track every bit of food that I eat through the month (starting June 7th...), and stay in my calorie ranges - Average at least 150 minutes (2.5 hours) working out each week (5/week, 30min/day) starting June 7th - Start the RushFit exercise program (and stay…

I'm a late arrival to the group, but I have a FitBit, and I'll jump in here as well. :) My goals are as follows, 7 days/week Steps - 10,000 Distance - 5 miles Calories - 3,434 Flights - 15 Active Score - >1000 On top of the above from normal activity, I also have set a goal to exercise an additional 40 minutes per day.…

Thanks for adding me. I've updated the spreadsheet to include my information at the end. Since I started this journey on June 7th, I put my weight then in as both my starting weight and Week 1 Weigh-In. I went ahead and put last week's weight in as measured then, and I'm all ready for the WWI tomorrow. :o)

I coach my daughter's basketball team. One of the first rules rules we talk about is that they are not allowed to say they *can't* do something. If you say you can't do something, you have already accepted failure as the natural course of things. In other words, if you insist on saying you can't... you are right - but only…

I lost a pet rock once. It was almost instantaneous. A pet rock is a stone, and I succeeded. I'm sure you can, too. :o) (What? 14 pounds? Oh. Yeah, that's possible, too - but it's pretty aggressive. You will have to really want it and work at it. Good luck!)

That's odd. It shows up in my "sent" box. :noway: in any case, I just sent it to you again. (I'm assuming I'm doing it right. I'm just clicking on the arrow by your name and selecting, "Send message.") Thanks!

Is it too late to join the group? I'd love to jump in with you all (and try to catch up... ) I sent you a message with my email address. Thanks!

I'm a guy that's a little older than dirt (amongst gamers) at a ripe old 42. To call myself an "avid" gamer really is an exaggeration. It used to be true, but I just haven't had the time in the last couple of years. I like to play games, but just haven't done it much for a couple of years. I used to play WoW quite…

I am considering getting a conceal/carry gun (which seems to me to have distinctly different needs than an open carry that I might carry out in the wilderness somewhere). I have not gotten one yet, but there are a couple that are intriguing that I am considering. The points I'm keeping in mind: - If I can't conceal it…

I coach my daughter's basketball team. One of the first rules we lay out in practice is that they girls aren't allowed to use the word, "can't." (I'm also not allowed to ask for the physically impossible. ) It's okay to struggle with things, to forget things, or to still be working on things - but when we say we…

Hahaha. You had me there at first, with the claim that there are TWO 5:00's each day - but when you said there is also another 4:00, then I KNEW you were pulling my leg... My complaint about my gym is that it's too small for some of the more active stuff I'd like to do - but you get that when your gym is the spare…

I was wondering the same thing. Are you recommending just putting it in as cardio exercise and not worrying about logging the strength aspect of it? Thanks.
-
I just got the Rush Fit program because my son wanted to do something with me for him to get strong, and for me to get lean(er). We were going to start it last week, but delayed by a couple of weeks as we both wound up getting a virus and being under the weather. Normally I get sick of exercise *after* I start...…
