That doesn't seem quite logical to me, but I suppose it's possible. The wrist unit got the signal and worked properly except when the treadmill was running. However, when the treadmill was running, the treadmill received the signal but the wrist unit did not, so the transmitter was definitely picking up my heart rate and…

I won't be explicit here, but let your imagination take you where it may... I seriously considered wearing mine last night to see what kind of burn I was getting from our evening "exercise". I probably will at some point, but the timing just wasn't right. :)
-
I did the first day today, but don't tell my wife. We're "starting" it together tomorrow. :)

I just got a HRM and that's what I started doing. I created a manual entry called "General Workout (HRM)" and just log the time and calories in there.
-
If you're configured as sedentary and you do clean something that wouldn't fit into that "lifestyle" (4 hours of deep cleaning, for example), it's fine to log it, but general cleaning, cooking, etc. are included in the sedentary settings (which are calculated as 20% higher than your BRM)

I keep a larger container of peanuts, almonds, and cashews at work and just weight them out into portions on a food scale. Buying them in prepackaged 100 calorie increments gets overly expensive.

looking very cheerful

True, it might slow her metabolism, but eating too few calories will not cause one to GAIN weight.

This might be the first time I've ever felt sad to be "only" 37.

I've been thinking about getting one as well. The big holdup for me is that it doesn't include a HRM. If it did, I'd be ordering it right now.

Most of the exercise calories I burn are walking or on the elliptical at the gym. I can feel and visibly see the difference in my leg muscles. I find it very hard to believe that I'm burning an unhealthy amount of muscle as opposed to building it.

Does anybody have a link to an actual scientific study reinforcing this? Yes, popular belief is that you need to eat back the calories, that you shouldn't go under 1200 per day, etc., but everything I've been able to find that is an actual scientific study does NOT reinforce this theory. Just because a lot of people…

My biggest pet peeve is incompetence. If you want to do something, figure out how to do it well, or find something else to do. It especially bothers me with people who work in service-oriented jobs. If you want to be a waitress, put in enough effort to be a good one; if you don't want to be a waitress, just do us all a…

I'd have to say that I'm probably a 9 or 10. Tubgirl doesn't offend me, though I find it disgusting. The one exception is when something is a personal attack against me. In that case, I'm far more easily offended (e.g., if somebody accused me of cheating or stealing).

A hidden tax on the poor?! Are you serious? Most of the "poor" get back EVERYTHING they paid in AND THEN SOME. That extra is funded by the 53% of us who actually pay Federal Income Tax, by the way.

Scotch. Preferrably Glenlivet 18-year or Glenfiddich 12-year. 200 calories in 3 ounces though. :(
-
Quite the opposite. Several people in my department started a "Biggest Loser" competition and we were told by HR that we had to shut it down because somebody might be offended and we can't judge people on their appearance.

Come on. Don't let one fat guy kill the thread... :)
