  • I'm starting tomorrow as well. I will add you if I can!
  • Oh my gosh -- thank you SO much for this post!! I have been needing some serious motivation for a while now, and this was exactly it! I am also 5'6, and my current weight fluctuates between 193-198, depending on the day. My goal is to get to 154 ("healthy" BMI range). Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I also started…
  • Wow. Wow. WOW. You are incredible!! Thank you for sharing your story! :)
  • Awesome!! Let's do it!! I didn't have the results I COULD have had, if I had kept my diet clean, but I do remember that I lost an inch off my waist in the first week alone. I also started getting spotty with it in the second month, and didn't do all of the workouts like I should have, but I remember that at the end of the…
  • I have a very good friend who went through this. She lost 100+ and was stunning (not that she wasn't very pretty before, but she had this ah-maz-ing figure after she lost the weight), and whenever she walked into a room, every head turned to look at her. She wasn't totally happy in her marriage to start with, but while the…
  • That is a HUGE deal!! You should shout it from the rooftops!! Keep going -- I can't wait to hear from you when you lose those next 20! CONGRATS!!!
  • Congrats!! That is wonderful!! And happy birthday tomorrow -- I hope you have a beautiful day! Thank you for sharing your success!
  • Shin splints are caused either by swelling of the muscles and connective tissues between the bone and the fascia, or by stress fractures to the bones in the lower leg. Either way, "working through them" is a really bad idea, at least at the intensity that you were exercising when they started. Don't stop exercising all…
  • Is it too late to join?? I'm a (almost) 31 year old single mother with a 6 year old daughter. I work full time and then a couple shifts/month at a second job. I did Insanity a couple months ago, and since it ended have not logged a single minute of intentional exercise. I would LOVE the motivation of a group of similar…
  • Spinach was also on the list, now that I think of it. Which surprised me for some reason, but I've added it as often as possible, but it's not easy to work into your day. But if you drink protein shakes or anything like that during the day, I have added spinach to them in the past and I can't really taste it at all. :)
  • I went to the doctor a few months ago and my LDL and triglycerides were borderline high. I work out regularly and eat fairly healthy too -- although I have my weaknesses & indulgences, but what would life be without them -- so I was at a loss. I asked my doctor about it and she gave me a fairly long list of foods to eat…
  • I've been seriously at this for about 6 weeks, and only my best friend has made any comment directly about having lost weight -- but I was also wearing a skirt and she could see how toned my legs were getting (thank you, Insanity!). But in the last week I've had 3 people ask me if I've cut my hair -- I haven't since…
  • OMG, that dress is fantastic!! And the shoes are perfect! You look SO good! Great work! :)
  • I can defintely see a difference!! It amazes me how much our bodies can change even if the scale doesn't! Also -- I have a small scar similar to yours directly beneath my belly button, and I convinced my 5 year old daughter that it IS a second belly button. HAHA! :)
  • Yikes.... I have a 5 year old, and she's made similar comments. I *try* to use it as motivation, but it still hurts. A lot. Ahh....from the mouths of babes.... :(
  • I'm on day 5 of Recovery Week, starting month 2 on Sunday, and I'm TERRIFIED. But also really excited. I've lost 3 inches off of my waist, and about 7 inches total, as well as 7 pounds. On top of that, I'm seeing muscles that I have literally never seen before -- my arms going to be smokin' by the time I'm done! :) My only…
  • You're looking for encouragement, and that's a good sign, and a great start, but you are going to have to find in yourself too. Sometimes we HAVE to rely on others to tell us to get off our a$$es and do the right thing, but that can't be the majority of the time -- the majority of the time, it has to come from YOU. I am a…
  • KJ & OBrien -- thank you SO much for the support!! Just to be clear, I have NO intention of quitting -- between what I paid for the program and adjusting to getting up at 4am for the last two weeks to get the workouts in, I am hellbent on seeing it through!! I really appreciate your motivation. I have seen great results so…
  • Completed week two today!! (I started on a Sunday so that Saturdays would be my rest days.) I am still loving it, but feeling like I'm losing momentum, maybe? I don't know, I am still doing the workouts of course, and giving them my all, it just seems like my "all" is less than it was the first week. Does that make any…
  • I am in week 2 of Insanity -- can I still join the group?? I am loving it so far, and had great results the first week, but my eating completley derailed over the weekend and now I'm back where I started weight-wise. Anyhow, I'm back on track now and would love to join this group for some motivation and to help others who…
  • Awesome!!! I can't wait to be in a size 12 as well! You look great and I love your shirt too!!

  • I know it's not ideal, but can you carve 45-60 minutes out of your "hubby" time to do the P90X or another workout? Maybe he could do it with you so it would still be quality time together?? It's tough, I know -- I'm a single mother with a full time job. I exercise over lunch and/or after 8pm when my daughter goes to bed.…
  • I power through it. After day one my calves are always KILLING me (all those damn jumping jacks), but pushing through it and not taking a day off right away helps me and I feel better on day three. You'll see amazing improvement super fast with that program. I love it!!
  • I get the blotches too!! Around my mouth and the sides of my face (near my jawline) seem to stay white...I think that's part of what really alarms people -- I think it almost looks like I'm foaming at the mouth! HAHA!! And my head sweats like you wouldn't believe. My hair is drenched when I'm done with a good workout! I'm…
  • Thanks guys -- it definitely helps to know I'm not the only one! I figured I wasn't alone, but I've never met anyone else whose face does what mine does. It doesn't bother me all that much, but I get the weird looks and the questions about if I'm okay pretty frequently. Oh well -- better to be active with a red face than…
  • That's AWESOME!! Keep it up!! And if you make it to June 7th, why go back?? Try for July 7th, then August 7th!! Great work -- soda is evil!! (Okay, maybe not "evil", but it's definitely not good!)
  • Congrats! You deserve to feel great!
  • Holy WOW!!! I'm on day 5 and this was DEFINITELY the inspiration I needed to keep going. Thank you!! GREAT JOB!! :)
  • Every sushi restauarant calls their rolls different things (except for the standards: California roll, tuna/spicy tuna, etc.), but I would steer clear of anything "tempura" (read: fried) and anything with a lot of sauces is going to have a lot more calories. Sashimi is the best for you/lowest calorie option, but I know a…
  • Those all sound awesome!! Thank you!! I'm going to try a couple of them -- it'll just be me eating it (my daughter wouldn't touch one with a 10-foot long fork!), so hopefully I can get a couple smaller recipes out of it. Thanks!! :)
