  • I didn't notice anyone mention my favorites: Laughing Cow French Onion cheese on celery Plain Nonfat Greek yogurt w. strawberries and/or blueberries & 1 packet Splenda Pistachios! Ricotta cheese with almond flavoring & 1 packet Splenda String Cheese I'm a SB girl!
  • Lots of ice and with a straw. I drink more when I use a straw. I'm guilty of Mio too. I should try switching to fresh fruit as flavoring. Diet Coke is my last aversion to give up. I gave up everything else! I need something bad in my life! LOL.
  • Because I'm worth it!
  • I'm in Phase 2 of South Beach and still on low carb, high protein. Take a look at my food diary if you want. Definitely the plain Greek yogurt - flavored has too many carbs. A 1/2 cup of plain, 0 fat Greek yogurt has 11 g protein and 1 carb. Add a 1/2 cup of strawberries for 1 g protein/6 carbs. I also add one packet of…
  • I cannot have dairy, it gives me horrible stomach "problems." We originally discovered it when I was breastfeeding my newborn son. He had horrible diarrhea and acne; the pediatrician told me to cut the dairy out of my diet. He started gaining weight, his skin cleared up, and I felt better! I have since found (6 years…
  • If I go to Subway (no more than once a week) I get a 6 inch wheat with Turkey, bacon, spinach, cucumbers, black olives and deli mustard with a side of apple slices. It has 54 carbs but I do it once a week at the most. Subway also offers salads. Saladworks is where I try to go. I spend almost $10 for a salad, but I can…
  • Haha, you "stole" mine! I also am newly addicted to a square of Lindt dark chocolate with Chilis in it. It just makes your mouth warm. Delish and no way to eat a whole bar!
  • I'm not sure actually. I just got tested today and I CAN'T have cow's milk, butter, aged cheeses. I CAN have soft cheeses, sour cream, and yogurt. Anyone heard of this? [/quote] I had to all cow dairy when I was breastfeeding my son because of his lactose intolerance. Low-and-behold, I felt better too. When he was weaned I…
  • Whey is derived from cow's milk so be careful if you have lactose issues (like me). They also sell soy based protein powders (GNC, Target, etc). Adding protein is good for your new healthy lifestyle because it makes you feel full longer and aids in the repair of muscles, especially after strength training.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one! The treadmill literally shakes when I start running. I really notice my water bottle jiggling. As soon as it happens I try to step down "lighter." This usually helps me. I'm probably subconsciously readjusting my gait, but I think of it as being lighter on my feet. It's interesting about…
  • Mio is a water flavoring. Instead of packets, it's a liquid you squirt in your water so you control the amount of flavor. The mango peach is yummy. Fruit punch is ok.
  • I love all the suggestions. Mainly, keep the food in individual baggies so you don't have to worry about mindless eating. My favorites are Laughing Cow French Onion wedges with celery and/or Special K whole wheat crackers and Kashi TLC bars. I also keep green tea and a bottle of Mio for when I can't stand to drink more…
  • Every morning I get a grande bold roast coffee with soy milk. I depend on Starbucks for morning coffee since I cannot have cows milk. Little "tricks" I’ve learned for those occasional afternoon pick-me-ups: order it "unsweetened" (sweetened is sugar water) so you control how much you put in and "skinny" (sugar-free syrup).…
  • Old Navy Compression yoga pants, capris, and shorts. Cheap & smnooths it all out! Good luck. I love runnning - the jiggle motivates me to run more. I can't wait until I can run without a jiggle!
  • Surprisingly, I found my favorite sports bra at Victoria Secret! I have a champion from Target I run in as well, but I hate the mono-boob. The VS is part of the PINK yoga collection. I like it because I can run or do kickboxing in it and the girls still look good! I am a little more endowed (C/D cup) so I need something…

  • I told my husband when I started South Beach, but wouldn't tell anyone else. I needed to tell someone because I need to be held accountable, that's what makes me succeed. I just don't tell everyone. I agree, it's no ones business! What I did focus on is telling a few of my "running" friends that I was starting to run. I…
  • Definately a crate and blanket or towel for inside. Might be nice to sleep with the towel/blanket for a few days so your scent is on there. The puppy will appreciate that when you're not home. You'll also want urine cleaner for all the accidents (make sure it has enzymes in it). Be very careful with rawhide, they can choke…
  • I don't think it's an issue as long as your extra calories come from good sources and not doughnuts and cake! You're lucky you don't live in the US & have to fend off Girl Scout Cookies whenever you go out! I know I ate a lot of soup when I had pneumonia. Good luck and get healthy!
  • College party nights: Size 3 daisy dukes with the ruffle around the bottom and a skin tight shirt that snapped at my crotch (like an adult onsie!). Sadly no pixs - that I know of. I would actually love to prove to people that I was once a size 3! I cried real tears when I got rid of all my daisy dukes!
  • VitaTops - they're in the frozen section next to waffles. 100 cals w. lots of fiber and decent protein. Just heat it in the toaster oven. Also try Kashi waffles, more fiber and protein then normal so you can eat one and stay full longer. My problem with breakfast is I can't have any dairy so it's soy yougert or oatmeal for…
  • Sounds like you need to explore some new hobbies! You went from super busy to at home. Do you do any crafting at all? Calligraphy, needle point, etc will keep your hands busy plus the areas need to be neat so no food allowed! I've even picked up my kid's DS and gamed for a while to keep occupied. If you celebrate…

  • I have a 10 yo daughter and 7yo son. One of each and NO MORE!!! I like them being at this age because they work out with me now. I teach them how to do the different exercises in my intervals, which helps keep my form. I can also usually talk one of them into Just Dance on Wii. My daughter is great because she holds me…
  • Add me to the list. I just started on MFP so this will be my first challange. I'm always looking for ways to switch it up.
