I started building my cardio on the elliptical machine when I was heavier... As I lost weight and added endurance, I was able to transition into running pretty smoothly.

Love the honey oat also - I get a veggie delight - no cheese slices, with lettuce, tomato, onion, green pepper, cucumber, extra vinegar, parmesan, and oregano - YUM!

My 10 yo daughter taught herself how to make jewelry (earrings/necklaces) by watching you tube videos and has been selling it whenever/wherever she gets the chance. She sold nearly $100 worth while we were camping recently. My 14 yo son was correcting the employees at Marbles: The Brain Store while we were in Chicago last…

I can totally relate to this!!! I used to be able to get up before work to exercise... Now that I have kids and work 30 miles from home it is sooooo rough getting up at 4:30 to hit the gym, knowing I have to be home by 6am so I can leave by 7am with two kids ready for school. Teaching becomes so time consuming if you are…

Trying to be in, but haven't had many chances to get strength training in (been on vacation - doing a LOT of driving). Gonna try to start again tomorrow. :)

wallyball, baseball/softball, and even a little soccer and ice hockey (only played 2x, but loved it!)... Not very good at any of them, but love to play!

I'm a couple of days behind, but should be able to make up for it - Finished day 1 column 3 (barely :)) Will do day 2 Fri, Day 3 Sun, then do week 2 T/T/Sat next week to catch up.

I've heard you should change them every 500 miles... When I had sore knees (similar to what you are describing) I spoke with the local running store. Their suggestion was to do strength training... One leg at a time - lift low weight (15 lbs or so) multiple times. It worked great for me. I also got shoes with more…

I ordered an "Andiamo Light" meal at dinner tonight (Andiamo's is an upscale Italian restaurant near us) and kept the light 1st course in lieu of the soup/salad that was offered - Mushroom array (variety of mushrooms w/red pepper and onion) + Chicken stuffed with turkey sausage + Mushrooms, spinach and cherry tomatoes - I…

I'm interested... Hopefully I can get organized enough to get this done!

I'd say it depends on what your goal for the 1/2 is, but I did weight training and marathon training at the same time and felt GREAT. I was dancing the night of the marathon and running again (only 2-3 miles) 2 days later. :)

Although I didn't quite hit the 20 minute mark, I did do 2 sets of 15 reps of arms, shoulders, chest today... only 16 minutes though. Wanted to add in a few minutes of abs, but every time I'd lay down to do them the dogs thought I wanted to play with them. :) Gonna do legs tomorrow!

Those look AWESOME!

So I haven't actually done any weight training yet (since the 29th) unless you count packing luggage/bikes for our trip on Saturday... Regardless, July 2nd I start and still have plenty of time to get 3 days in before the first week is done! :)

Went out for a nice long bike ride tonight...

Ok... Made my first ticker... Getting ready to move my first miles :)

Gonna give this a go... Need to get my strength training back in gear!

I want in - I need some motivation to get back into the routine... Signed up for a 1/2 marathon in October and need to get some miles logged. I'll go for a goal of 90 this month (about 3/day average).
