  • As someone who's struggled with eating disorder issues for the past 4 or 5 years, I think I can safely say that the media plays a huge part in pushing girls towards this kind of behavior in the first place, both in my case and in the cases of many other people I know who struggle with the same issues. Growing up in a world…
  • Honestly, I can't speak for that, but it depends on the kind of relationship you two have already, and if you think he's likely to make a move without encouragement or not. If you think you might have given him negative signals though, I'd say go for it yourself. Just wait for an opportunity to present itself, and let him…
  • Oh my god yes. I've lost 22 pounds, but coming down from 190, that's over 10% of my total body weight, so it's a huge difference visually. I'm down 2 jean sizes and I can see hipbones that I didn't even know I had, and yet the pooch of my belly or the way my thighs still jiggle makes me see myself as that same person. I…
  • I've been there, and sometimes it seems unfair to dump your issues on someone else, but some people are more than happy to help you through them, and it can even help bring you close together. I know that dealing with my trust issues from past relationships and helping me through my ED related issues brought me and my…
  • I have a few favorite breakfasts: one is whole grain bread with natural peanut butter and some flavored cream cheese, either the laughing cow strawberry or the philadelphia dark chocolate one. I use the Health Full bread by Orowheat, it's full of fiber and protein, and it's delicious, plus you get protein from the peanut…
  • I'm down to a mid C from a D, and while I do miss my bigger boobs, I'm definitely happy that they're firmer and perkier, and my boyfriend has noticed it too — in a good way.
  • Many women don't care, but it's a big thing in women with eating disorders, and it's one of the goals they try to achieve because it's considered a standard of "thinness" and beauty. All the guys I know prefer muscular thighs, regardless of how close together or far apart they are, to unhealthily thin legs. Just aim for a…
  • lol trust me, I've learned not to. There's a price to be paid for dating gamers, man.
  • Oh no man, I'm up front with it. I like smooth hands and long fingers — there are definitely perks to dating a musician who played french horn for years. That's all I'm saying, man. Oh, and suits. Nothing's hotter than a man in a properly tailored suit.
  • Oh man, as soon as you said "dork culture" I had to tell you, your bow tie is cool. Cause bow ties are cool. And I hope you watch Doctor Who, otherwise that makes no sense. That's important for me, too — shared bonding over our nerdiness is what brought my boyfriend and I together in the first place. He likes that I…
  • Honestly, I just think this is sad. It's sad that she's completely given up and decided that this is somehow the right path for her, or for anyone. I'm also really curious as to what kind of doctor she goes to that is telling her this is OK, but no matter what her vital signs are like now, she has a wildly higher chance of…
  • That's a huge difference, you look awesome! Best of luck getting to your UGW :)
  • Before: Now: Can't wait to get rid of that stubborn cellulite! *sigh*
  • Congrats! You look amazing!
  • awww poor little fatty, he's adorable though. Congrats on your waist, though!
  • If you're going to be cooking anyway, just look for healthy recipes you can eat too! It'll probably be even better than lean cuisine because those can be loaded with sugar, and healthy food can be tasty too, trust me.

  • My bf and I have been together for a year, we're still crazy in love, and we want to get married when I'm done with school — and he has the same personality that yours seems to. He's shy, reserved, and bad at communicating through text. When we're together it's easier because I know how to get him to open up and talk, but…
  • Oh hey, did I miss the picture party?
  • Just gonna go ahead and agree with most of the people here — piss off. Honestly, I see so many women getting insecure and irritated over women being uncovered, when it's ok for a guy to be 15% covered, no one cares. You women though, just hush and go be modest over in the corner, because clearly all you want to do is shed…
  • I definitely have; I can't remember the last time I binged, or even went over my TDEE. I bike 6.5 miles 3 times a week and work out in addition to that as well, so hopefully I'll be OK :)
  • I'm between 5'7" and 5'8", right now I'm at 168 and a size 10 jean, medium top, 39-30-42 measurements. I think I'm shooting for 150 as an UGW, but I've never been below 165 so I'm not sure. However I'm not terribly uncomfortable with my body right now, so I think that would be good for me. Edit: thought pictures might not…
  • Thanks, guys; I am still counting calories one or two days a week, but I've failed at losing weight so many times in the past that I'm just nervous about it happening again.
  • Ugh yes, but I didn't manage to get tickets this year. I still want to cosplay at Phoenix Comiccon as Book 3 Katara (from Avatar: the Last Airbender) in the fire nation costume, so since that's midriff baring, I want to look my best ^_^ My bf is going as Zuko, so it'll be great. For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking…
  • ^ This. Cool whip may have less calories, but they're empty and they don't leave you satisfied. Greek/natural yogurt has protein and is healthy and filling, plus the sugar I'd get from fruit is natural and unprocessed. Choose quality calories, and you'll end up eating less but feeling so much healthier.
  • Just to reiterate what so many women are saying, it depends on the guy. I was around my current weight when my boyfriend and I got together, and then when I gained 20+ pounds, his attitude never changed. Mine did, because I felt more self-conscious, but he loved me the same. Now that it's coming back off, he's proud of me…
  • Buying a new bikini for sure! I finally have a body I can be proud of, so I'm pretty damn excited to show it off.
  • Mmmm, clean shaven yes. I like the look of scruff, but it drives me crazy when my boyfriend actually has it because I get beard burn. Thankfully he has to shave for work, so I get a nice smooth face to kiss.
