Vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce, peanut butter and whipped cream. Literally, when I finish eating a sundae, I could do it all over again, and there are times that I have done it. I'm never satiated with that mix - I always need more!!!

Most of my exercise comes from doing work around the house and yard. I love to garden and spend an hour or two a day doing that. Because I do a lot of heavy lifting and things that are more akin to farming than gardening, I'm also getting more toned. I have a 1.5 acre yard and mow about an acre of it with a power push…

This is exactly what I do, too. And on mornings that I get up at the crack of dawn to take a run, I weigh myself but never count it because usually I've had a pint or two of water and that REALLY ups the pounds. Which makes me wonder about those of you who weigh AFTER exercise - do you have any fluctuation issues with the…

Perhaps this won't work at a pot luck since you may not know who made everything, but what I did at my sister's house on Sunday at her lunch was to say "This is delicious! What's in it?" And if the list of ingredients sounded incomplete (ie, did you put oil in the marinade?), I even said stuff like - "hmmm - I'm going to…

I completely agree. Arnold makes a Melba sliced Rye bread that is exactly what you're talking about. 2 pieces are 110 calories total. That's great and all, but I get really sick of rye bread. My fix is very low-tech. I just pile my sandwich fillings on one piece of bread. Not so handy to eat, but I prefer it to a 1/2…

Yum - 2 of my 3 favorite foods - Chocolate and Marshmallows! Thanks for the recipe.

The Peeps factory (where they make Good n' Plenty and all that junk too) is literally miles from my house! At every parade, every event - EVERYTHING - the Peeps mobile is there tossing Peeps out the window! And Mike n' Ikes... For some reason, they don't throw Hot Tamales or Good n' Plenty.... those must be the hot ticket…

I ate terribly yesterday too, and felt awful today. I get a hung over feeling anymore when I eat alot of really bad stuff. Today has been a day of cleansing, I guess... oatmeal, fruit, salad, tofu... all things that will hopefully bring balance back to my poor body.

haha! I always thought the same thing when my sister or friends would say that they just don't have time to make dinner or keep the house clean after their babies were born. I thought - you're home all day, you're just not managing your time well. Then, I had my own baby, and yeah... I was SOOOOOO out in left field! No…

Great job! It's an amazing feeling to have your hard work pay off in such a clear way.

I agree, and I go so far as to always budget for a big bowl of ice cream every night and that's actually why I have so many calories saved for tonight. I know it's not good for me, but it's my way of staying on course, and keep being honest with every calorie. I love ice cream so much that I exercise every day just to…

You are all right, and I ate the banana. I'm kind of upset about how much I want those Mr. Goodbars. I gave up smoking a few years back, and it feels like that... I just want one so bad, and there's that feeling like I KNOW I'm going to give in. I have enough calories left for the day (I have tons - like more than 550),…

Do you ever just feel ambushed at work? I work in a library, and it's like bad food choices heaven. Cake in the fridge, candy on the table - each and every time I come in to work it's something different, and usually, something that you can easily just grab a handful of, and before you know it, you just ate 500 calories…

My scale does this too, and it's really annoying. I can tell I'm losing weight because my clothes fit better and because the trend is going down, but sometimes, I'll step on the scale in full dress and then again after removing my clothes, and ta-da! My clothes must weigh absolutely nothing because it's the same weight!…

Yay!! Congratulations! Don't go around in a skirt too much, or you run the risk of losing your panties altogether! I put a pair of pants on for work tonight that were hardly buttonable just 5 weeks ago, and they are baggy around the butt and loose on my waist! Only 5 lbs lost, but I'm short, so those 5 lbs have made a huge…

My big problem is ice cream at night. I save enough calories to have a scoop, or even two with whipped cream and peanut butter (I save ALOT of calories) around 8pm, but even then - even after I'm done, I want MORE MORE MORE. Last night, for the first time in forever, I gave in to that, ate over 1.5 cups of ice cream, plus…

This is funny.... When my daughter was in the NICU, they measured her in metric, and we were always asking - how much is that in pounds and ounces? Now, I'm very fluent in the conversion between grams and ounces. Still, though, the dry versus liquid ounces - wtf! I am definitely on the side of everyone using metric.…

Loving 2% cottage cheese on stone wheat crackers now - 150 calories for 3 crackers and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. In fact, I'm going to go eat some right now! 1 T peanut butter on a small apple - yum! That's just 150 calories too Oh - and plain yogurt with cinnamon in it and a small apple - like eating dessert! - 1/2 cup…

I just wanted to add this thought... I'm losing weight because I want to lose weight to fit back into my old clothes and feel good about my body again. However, my motivation - the thing that got me to stop just yakking about how fat I feel and get off my butt and make changes - was a $100.00 bet with my sister. Is money a…

Is the issue your actual weight or the fact that you don't participate or enjoy the same activities? If your weight is getting in the way of activities you used to do with him, then it's understandable that you guys might be moving apart. If it's really just the number on the scale or the way you look, well, that's pretty…

I weigh in daily and I log any change - up or down. I love running a "report" on my weight change and seeing the line trending downward, even if it does wobble a bit! Weighing in daily keeps me on track, and I don't get bent out of shape if it goes up (IF I kept to my caloric needs - if I overate, I think - well, that is…

I love coffee, but have always had it black, black, black, so I'm not looking to cut it out. However, I breastfeed my daughter, and have cut out some of the caffeine by drinking 1/2 caff in the morning - I mix my own (because we already have regular hanging around for my husband, and I also drink decaf after dinner). I…

My new favorite snack - 150 calories, is 1/2 cup Breakstone 2% cottage cheese on 3 Wegman's Stone Ground Wheat Crackers. MMMMM!!!! Lots of protein, pretty low in fat, and gives you that snacking feel from the crunchy crackers.

This is probably why I don't really have the pooch or apron... my son was born (vaginally, but he was stillborn) at 30 weeks, and my daughter was born (emergency c-sec, but was born alive) at 28 weeks. Since I never got very far in the 3rd trimester with either one, I guess my skin didn't really stretch all that much.…

I was curious about the whole c-sec thing... I had a c-sec and will have to have another if I ever have more children (mine was an emergency, and they had to do a classic c-sec, which means my uterus has a higher likelihood of rupturing during child birth - that plus a million other things that go wrong in my pregnancies =…

I'm 5'1, currently 117 lbs with a goal of 112 lbs. I eat 1800 calories a day at a minimum because I'm breastfeeding. I earn (with breastfeeding) an average of 600-800 extra calories a day so I can reach that 1800 calorie consumption minimum to keep my supply up. MFP gives me a measly 1200, and only "lets" me lose .6 lbs a…

Makes you wonder what it would do to your fertility - I would guess it would make your body think you were pregnant, so then, you may not ovulate. Just speculating - I've never heard of it before. 500 calories a day, though? Sheesh - that restriction alone would make me to lose 1 lb a day... until my body thought it was…

Good luck! I don't drink at all - I quit 2 years ago, but I wanted to say not to be surprised if you start craving sweets in place of the alcohol. When I cut out alcohol completely, my sweet tooth grew enormous! Alcohol is made from sugar, and most alcoholic drinks have residual sugar in them, so your body is used to…

For the person with the 1 month old. I've read that you should not start altering your calorie intake for at least 6 weeks, to make sure you establish your milk supply. This is really important. I know so many people who didn't establish a good supply right away, and it can really affect your supply in the long run. So…

I can't stand general fitness magazines because the bodies they show are not necessarily fit. Many of the ads show apparently starving women, and even most of the articles feature bodies that are unattainable for my particular build and priorities. Instead, my family subscribes to 2 magazines that are more specific to…
