You're gorgeous!

I can't add any advice - but someone in my WLS support group has struggled with vertigo post-lap-band surgery. Hers went away when she hit her head hard against a car door (not on purpose) so obviously I don't recommend that. But I do believe it is possible to happen. I haven't really had a headache or migraine since…

Awesome! I subscribed to you and I'm about to watch your videos. It is fun recording!!!

I went to Old Navy today to buy some clothes for the kids and myself. I didn't try anything on in the store, because I bought stuff that I would fit into. Well, when I got home I tried on a pair of the jeans I bought myself. I bought a 16 & and 18. And the 18's FIT. Like I can zip & button them! They are tight and I…

So I'm really new out of surgery, but I have 5 children. Five hungry, skinny children. Five children who can eat whatever they want and not gain weight (it seems). We have a LOT of food in the house. Salty, crunchy and savory things are my triggers. So I'm trying to limit some of their snack foods to things they like but I…

This is a great idea. I meal plan as well, but I've never thought about buying individual chip bags to help limit how much is in the house.

I'm behind on this a bit - but listen. If you don't want to give your money away without seeing them work for it...ask them to tell you a joke. Pay them based on how funny it was. I gave a guy $20 one time because he proposed marriage and I told him that was the funniest thing I've ever heard. Some people are just rotten…

I haven't pooped since Tuesday. Drank Miralax yesterday and today. Still no movement. So, I'm NOT grateful for that.

I've started wearing a ring that I bought in Ireland in 2013. It was an awkward size and only fit on my left hand either on my ring finger (occupied by wedding ring) or my thumb. But now it fits on my right hand ring finger perfectly, even a tad loose. <3

What do you mean exactly by breaking "free" from the CICO thinking?

So if you're backpacking in, you'll probably be able to carry in a small cooler. If that's the case, then here are some suggestions (some use cooler, some don't): Breakfast: * Pre-cook breakfast burritos and stick in freezer. Watching carbs? Replace tortilla with the egg itself or use a cauliflower tortilla. * Pre-scramble…

Thanks for the update and the pic! Glad she's doing great. When will she be stateside again?

Are you backpacking into a spot and staying there or are you actively hiking for a couple days? Because my suggestions will be different depending on that.

So yesterday, nothing. On Sunday evening a bought a small container of Metamucil (sugar free). I couldn't drink it fast enough before it gelled up and was such an awful consistency that I could no longer drink it. I ended up going back to the store yesterday and buying Miralax (doctor's suggestion) along with fiber…

Never had an enema before. I'm honestly hoping the worst of it got out yesterday even though I was in absolute tears. I bought some fiber supplements to help until I can really eat more fibrous foods and at my doctor's suggestion, I got some Miralax. No movement today but I'm hoping tomorrow. Having never really suffered…

Yeah I'm not afraid to add healthy fats - fats don't scare me. :) I've been adding MCT oil to my coffee. I just started so I haven't increased it beyond 2tsp yet, but I may...

So the laxative seems to have worked. I mean...I went. It HURT LIKE A BIT** but I went. I still need to go some more but the pain scares me. I went to the pharmacy and purchased some Metamucil (sugar free) to help add in some fiber that I can start drinking daily.

I've been drinking coffee (decaf) since Friday morning. I was hoping that by starting solids and adding coffee that things would be just fine, but I was wrong. I'm hoping these laxatives I took work. I don't want to take something by prescription!

My consult was really simple. I think I may have filled out a basic questionnaire, but it wasn't anything significant. It felt more like an actual therapy session to me. Lots of talk, particularly about my depression and how I manage it, when it started, etc. At the end of the session she just told me after surgery to book…

If you want to have soy-type sauce, try some Coconut Aminos? It could really help provide that depth to your Asian cuisine since it's such a popular flavor/dipping sauce. Amazon even sells a 3 pack with the Aminos plus a Teriyaki & a Garlic sauce.

I went out with a friend and her children (while mine stayed at home Muahahaha!) and she had to run an errand (grocery shopping at Aldi). When I was walking around with her, I had to keep pulling up my shorts. Shorts that I've been wearing for the last 2 years with no problem. This is the first noticeable thing since…

I have enjoyed looking at the last 8 or so pages of this thread! Especially yours, crazyravr! My diet is different because I just had weight loss surgery. Today I started pureed foods. This was my first "meal" after 2 weeks of a liquid diet. Ground turkey with taco seasoning & beans pureed over fat-free refried beans,…

I can't speak for the Fitbit because I have never used one, but I have the Garmin Vivosmart HR and I love it. It is waterproof (for real, I swim & shower with mine no problem) and I find it to be really accurate. The Garmin Connect app is nice and syncs with MFP and other things too. The price is also a little less…

I'm one of the newest (if not the newest) VSGers on the forum. I am only 8 days post-op today. I'm struggling at the moment to meet my goals, but yesterday & today have been better than the other days. It is getting better every day. I'm fighting a lot of head hunger and I want to eat EVERYTHING even though I'm not really…

Welcome Brandi! How far along are you in the process?

We've talked about this before in PM I think, but I'm in Greer SC about 45 minutes from Asheville.

My parents live in Acworth. They're here helping me out during this recovery period though. Funny!

I'm home today. I did too much yesterday... Walked 3.4 miles in the hospital. But walking felt better than sitting which is why I did so much. Unfortunately I feel it today. I had a small bit of hunger last night before dinner, but the feelings I had of hunger on surgery day are completely gone. I'm working on my first…
