  • I second the progressive weight lifting program, more muscle will make you look leaner, and help you burn more calories overall. Combined with a moderate calorie deficit, and some cardio you will see results by April. Not necessarily 25kg but enough that you will see a drastic difference in playing ability. We want to be…
  • fantastic!!! I'm a list maker myself so I feel accomplished when I can check things off. Ate my 3 veggies today..check! Makes it seem more real to me. Best of luck on your business too by the way! Quite an accomplishment!

  • Hi Ben and welcome!! What's your game plan to lose your weight? There are all types of support groups here for all kinds of diets or exercise plans!!
  • Welcome, you should find a lot of support here! And to piggy back on @MaltedTea I find it's easier to make changes when I have a specific game plan to get to my goal. For example, I'm going to exercise 3 days a week, or I'm going to quit drinking soda etc.
  • Night time eating/snacking is a challenge for me as well!! I'm as a general rule not usually hungry during the day so I make up for it at night. Going to the gym later in the day seems to help me because working out decreases my appetite. Or else I just don't want to wreck the good I did there. Either way, it helps

  • Welcome!! Best of luck on your journey, I hope you find a lot of support here to help you meet your goals. Sounds like you have a healthy goal in mind for the summer and a good mindset. Just remember that there are going to be weeks that suck, so don't always rely on the scale. I judge myself a lot by how my clothes fit…
  • Hello to you!!! Welcome! As the others have said, what types of goals do you have?
  • Back to reality...I was on a pretty good roll and now...my roll is growing again...haha!! I know after a week I'll be back to normal, just too much carbs and booze. Hope everyone had an amazing holiday. Clearly mine was pretty good!!!

  • There are better ways of getting into shape. And 5kg is not at all an attainable rate of loss, and you would be setting yourself up for an eating disorder. This thread may be of help to you https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10569458/why-eating-too-little-calories-is-a-bad-idea/p1
  • Welcome to MFP. Sometimes it takes a health scare to make us realize how dangerous our weight can be. Here are a couple threads on the website that might be helpful to you when starting your journey https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10642346/weight-loss-frequently-asked-questions-infographic-answers/p1…
  • Hello and best of luck to you. Here is a great link for starting out here on the website http://fit101.org/the-step-by-step-guide-to-losing-weight-with-myfitnesspal Do you have a plan in place for accomplishing your goals?

  • Walking is such great exercise! I had gestational diabetes with all 3 of my kids and walking was one of the things that kept me from needing to use insulin. Definitely underrated in my humble opinion.
  • Welcome back!! tis the season for trying to get back on track and tighten things up a little bit :)
  • Hi Eli! I find gradual changes is what works best for me. If I try to go "balls out" I get discouraged very easily and then decide to just not do anything and I'm right back where I started. Have a great day!!
  • The best advice I can give is slow and steady wins the race. You didn't put all your weight on in a week and it's not going to come off in a week. Some weeks you won't lose at all. Just keep putting in the work and it will pay off. Also personally for myself, I find it easier to not try to do too much at one time. This…
  • Best of luck to you!!! Great work on the loss of the 23 pounds! Once you're back to consistent logging and the stress of holiday are over I'm sure that 5 will come back off for you!!
  • If you have a specific goal or type of friend you are looking for, there are a lot of different groups to join? There are running groups, body building, not sure on skateboarding, but maybe?
  • Here is a link that gives the cold hard truth... https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1161603/so-you-want-a-nice-stomach/p1
  • I try to keep things as simple as possible as well. I don't stress too much about macros although I try to eat more protein just because it makes me FEEL better, not because I think it's the only way to lose weight. Over time you will learn and figure out what things work best for you. I don't like considering any food to…
  • Wow...congrats to you!!! That is some amazing work you've put in!!

  • Hi Steven! What are your goals? That can help you to find someone with similar ones! I find it makes things easier for me when I have a clear, concrete goal. Whether it's by day, by week as well as long term. For example a goal I have is to eat 3 servings of fruits and vegetables a day (I rarely eat them) and a weekly goal…
  • Welcome!! I prefer to count calories as well, as it means nothing is technically "off limits" here's a great guide to help you with logging to make things as accurate as possible. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1234699/logging-accurately-step-by-step-guide/p1 Always feel free to reach out to anyone for…
