  • I use Mio's. They are really good and you can add how much or how little you want. I only use enough to add a little flavor. I find I dddrink way more water that way. Too much and it's like drinking kool aid. It does have a sweettener, but 0 calories.
  • I've noticed that there are times that your body seems to get used to the workout that you are doing, I know mine does. I have to do something for a week to alter my workout for a while to shock my system back to where it was. It works most of the time.
  • Hi newbies. I've been on a few months. Love this site. It's helped me over some rough spots when i first started. You can add me if you would like.
  • hate bored folks

  • I am 47, ibit older than you. So far in the past few months, I've lost 47 lbs. If you don't mind an older MFP friend, you can add me.
  • I have been overweight my whole life. I never really FELT fat even though all my family kept reminding me ogf that fact. It was only when i saw my reflection or a picture of me that it would really hit "wow, I'm fat". Doesn't mean i want anyone to either agree or disagree. It was just a reality check for me. And yes, i…
  • I am 47 years old and have been on so many diets, I have learned that the last person that really sees any difference is the person on the diet. That used to be a major problem. Now, I just focus on the small things. The fact that after 6 months of this diet, I can walk farther than I have in a long time without getting…
  • At the beginning of this year, to walk half a block had me short of breath and my back would be screaming. I have been walking to a bus stop each day. I started just going 2 blocks to the nearest bus stop. I then added another 3 blocks to the next bus stop and trying to pick up my speed. Once I was able to do that without…
  • I don't care if a person is obese or not, common sense advice is common sense no matter where itcomes from. If folks believe that is healthy, direct them to the anorexia (i know i'm spelling them wrong and i am sorry) and bolemia web sites. I'm sure they may have thought they had a great plan until their bodies said…
  • You can addmeif you would like. My name is Barb from upstate new york, usa.
  • I can totally understand where you are coming from. I have been told to do a lot of walking and stretching. I am still working on the walking part and hope that helps. I have also heard about a cream that helps with stretch marks and tightens the skin. I can't remember the name of it and have been trying to find it for…

  • I am not a runner (yet as I am currently 425), but I hope to soon. Whenn I see a runner, if they are real fit, I admire them (especially a guy). If it is easy to see it's a bit of a struggle for them, I root them on and hope that some day, i will be able to have the courage they do.
  • I will be 47 next month. Friend me. It will be nice to know more folks in my age range.
  • I can understand the feeling uncomfortable. When I first signed up, the age differences ( I am 46) and the fact that I really don't see folks as big as I currently am made me feel bad. I' ve since learned there are great folks here and we all work together for a common goal. Add me if you would like.
  • I can so relate to you. I am 46 with a 17 yr old son and a 14 yr old daughter. I also weight over 400 lbs. The pain and struggles doing the simple things are something I deal with as well. I also understand the fear off being judged. Add me if you would like. It would be great to have someone who understands.
  • This site and the message board are usually great help and encouragement. Reading everyone's stats is more of a downer. 46 yr old female sd - jan 2012 Sw - 445 Gw - 200 (for now) Graduated in 1983 weighing between 250 - 300
  • Way to go. I know what you mean. Feels great, doesn't it.
  • I've been on for a little while and have had a nice up and down journey to get started. I have a lot to lose. You can add me if you want.
  • If you drink anything with caffeine in it, cut back. That causes water retention.
  • Do not weigh yourself every day. Some days you may have some water weight gain that is not really a true weight, but does add on for a little while. Do it either every other week or once a month. Much more than that and you are putting too much pressure on yourself and that leads to weight gain.
  • I live in Upstate New York and would like to be your friend as well. I am new to this as well and would like others that I can talk to who understand what it is like.
