Makes sense. When you get down to the nitty-gritty.....what does a man offer: 1.) A shot in the dark. Big deal. Like it takes skill or something? 2.) Support. Take away the support, and other than contributing DNA, why is he needed? I like to tell a joke: A man has an X and a Y chromosome, a woman, two X chromosomes. If…

So true. It is mostly in our brains. Which is why I love my wife so much. My mind's eye sees how big and caring her heart is. It's encouraging to see thoughtful comment. There is hope for the world! So....I'd like to offer the desired response: <----GadgetGuy bows, presenting a chuckle or two

If you read thru this thread, you might find one or two men who like intelligence in a woman and, presumably, they are also intelligent.

But....but ......NO! I like a challenge. I like to ....um......um......"rotate" their brains out. Small brain....small challenge. Big brain......rockin' all night long!

As a diver (including a few trips to Hawaii), I get a personal sense of LOSS when I see large loss of sea life (I saw this article several months ago). I have relatives that depend on a fish diet to reduce the chance of another heart attack. Large/Massive loss of sea life (Exon Valdez, BP Gulf spill, etc.) adds insult to…

I answered the "What are you self-conscious about" question with: nothing.....because I don't worry about other's opinions. Self conscious implies you are uncomfortable with societal norms, to which you don't comply. What do I like? Sorta' have the same reaction: everything is fine. (except lactose intolerance, which…

Living in CA is expensive, so I addressed minimizing the expenses. Seek, and ye' shall find.

A fish weir would have poles sticking out of the water. I think he is trying to herd wild ducks into his dinner pot!

Per month (approx. values): Mortgage-$1700 Car (1)-$750 Food-$600 (for 3) (33 edible items from garden (e.g. avocados, tomatoes, cook from scratch a lot) Gasoline-$90 (Plug-in Prius and All Electric Leaf) Electricity-$0 (solar panels, some years the utility pays me for my excess electricity generation) Natural Gas-$13…

Don't forget, some people don't pay their own living expenses. Others make those payments, presumably for good reasons (family, fun, legal ruling, etc.)

If the facts are: 1.) You are not hungry. 2.) You know you binge eat (i.e. eating past hunger satiation). 3.) You allow other to dictate your portion sizes. Then it sounds like you are having trouble controlling your eating "behavior" more than controlling your diet. You've received a lot of good advice about what to eat…

I'll second this opinion. Confidence is sexy. But it does take more than confidence to compete for a partner.
-
Don't let anybody, including in-laws, tell you what portion sizes to eat (i.e. high calorie foods + small portions=reasonable calorie meal). Caveat: If you have an eating disorder, let a trained medical practitioner guide your portion sizes.

^This. Don't forget...to tip.

A big snake helps. Oh.......if you are having troubles screwing in a pipe, try some lube. (free professional advise)

And I always deliver on my customer's (wife's) desires.

Plumbing includes my family's water supply. I'm very thorough.

I do my family's plumbing jobs. The wife tips me, depending on my performance.

Loosing excess skin is a very, very slow process (years). Slowing down your weight loss will allow more of that skin loss to occur while still loosing weight (i.e. less saggy skin bags at weight loss goal). But that is not the reason to slow down. Slower weight loss is easier (less hunger to resist). Slower weight loss is…

Yes. I'm amazed how much free time some people must have.

Kudos to you! On my high school swim team, I was in the masses competing with the crawl. I also expressed my lazier side, diving the 1 and 3 meter boards (we got to jump on trampolines too! :)

Watch the movie......How Beer Saved the World. It's very clever and funny. It starts with: Why was barley the first grain domesticated? (i.e. it was beer that motivated the development of agriculture). There are quite a few kinds of animals that have a "taste" for alcohol. Some even can become alcoholic.

The Pillsbury website has lots of recipes for the Crescent Roll family of products. Gave up trying to find a nutrition label on the website. Was interested in sugar content (glycemic index/diabetes), as I believe this is one of the reasons they are not considered healthy (i.e. processed: remove fiber, add sugar/salt, etc.).

1.) Wearing clothes I paid for long ago, but had to file away when they no longer fit. 2.) Physically active again (diving without issue). 30 year olds have trouble keeping up with me (61 yo here) 3.) Not taking expensive medications (i.e. saving money) 4.) Eating tastier foods, not just foods that "jolt" the system like a…

If you make your glass of booze large enough, you could count the drinking as a light weight lifting activity

My pound-mutt will sit in the back yard, turning her head left and right, left and right, left and right, left and right....... Amazingly, she only does it when my step count on the FitBit is low for the day, and I am walking in circles in the back yard to fix the low score. I think she is crazy. She probably thinks I am…

People have already mentioned bulk purchases/coupons/sales etc. For me, this meant investing in a chest freezer. You mention you make bread. For me, I invested in canning gear (pressure cooker). I was AMAZED how much money I could save by making things from scratch and canning them. Currently, I spend about 1.5 days…
