I have not had an EV, but I've been fairly obsessed with this topic lately, as my baby has been breech. (I'm only 32 weeks, so hoping it will flip soon). I have watched plenty of videos of breech babies being born vaginally with no problems! I hate that they push you into a C section so early for it. my doula was able to…

I know everybody is different with cravings, but what fills me up is to make a huge cucumber/onion/avocado/cheese/tomato/basil salad every day. I use 1-2 cucumbers, a whole avocado, half an onion, about 2 ounces of pepper jack cheese cut up into tiny cubes, and if I have the tomatoes from my garden, I add those too. I make…

How are we doing everyone? Just wanted to check in! I'm almost 32 weeks now. We're getting so close to the end...there is bound to be someone who delivers early in our group. ;) (Not me, I'm sure! LOL) Has everyone been working on birth plans? What is your plan? Has anyone else been spending time on spinningbabies.org…

Maybe offer a sippy cup of water instead?

Pre-pregnancy weight: 145lbs (regular BMI) 15 weeks: 160 (+15lbs) 23 weeks: 175 (+30lbs) 27 weeks 178.4 (+33.4) 31 weeks 182.4 (+37.4) Feeling really good these days! My gaining has slowed down a lot due to having less of an appetite and generally filling up on fruit or vegetables/dairy. (plus, since I'm not tracking, I…

I just actually got the results from the 3 hour and all was perfect! So I think you'll be fine! :)

I failed the 1 hour this time around. (Never had a problem with my past two pregnancies, but I always took it first thing in the morning). For some reason, they had me take it in the afternoon after I'd eaten breakfast and drank my really sugary coffee. My level was a 190! I had my other midwife test me with a finger prick…

Wow! Thats crazy that they told you to diet!!! I'd gained 30lbs by 23 weeks and no one batted an eye! I stopped tracking at that point actually b/c I was getting too discouraged (trying to fit within the "recommended guidelines" and by 28 weeks, had only gained 4 more pounds. Still, I was up 34 pounds at 28 weeks (I'm…

That is so crazy that you guys don't have your own rooms at the hospital! In most hospitals here, you labor, deliver, and recover all in the same room. Actually, at the military hospital, I guess I delivered in one room and then was transferred to another room for our 48 hour stay. In the civilian hospital I was in with my…

I just wanted to update again b/c I had my first home birth midwife appt today. She tested my blood sugar an hour after I'd eaten and it was perfect! 89 So, she said I do not have GD and no need to worry about it! I'm so happy!!! (still have to do the stupid 3 hour one on Monday through the miiltary clinic, but at least I…

Weekly or every other week. I always gain a lot while pregnant and its hard for me, mentally and emotionally, when I'm focused on gaining less. Its just too disappointing and disheartening and really sucks a lot of my joy out of the pregnancy. So, I'm still doing it just to keep tabs and so that I'm not too shocked at the…

Jls- I asked if I could just retake the 1 hr. It would be so much easier, but the midwife said no. :( I'm sure the 3 hour will be ok. And many people have assured me that most women who fail the 1 hr end up passing the 3 hour. I've been trying super hard to eat low carb/low sugar and its much more difficult than I had…

Ugh, I failed my 1 hr glucose screen. :( I have to do the 3 hour now. I've always passed in the past, so this was a big surprise. However, I had it in the afternoon and had drank sugary coffee beforehand, plus eaten breakfast. AND I was still sick from a horrible cold. So I'm hoping the 3 hour test goes smoothly. It just…

I would pack flip flops just in case your feet are swollen when you leave. With my last pregnancy, I had no swelling beforehand, but due to all of the IV fluids, my feet and legs were super swollen afterwards for a good week and a half! Regular shoes would have never fit! lol

Have you tried choosing protein heavy foods with good fats? I like to make an egg with two turkey sausage patties and a slice of cheese on an arnold sandwich thin. Its less than 400 calories and very satisfying! Or a big bowl of oatmeal with a sprinkle of cinnamon, brown sugar and milk? (I like to add a dollop of kool…

27 weeks today and weighed myself for the first time in 3 weeks. 178.2! I'm so happy! Not weighing often or tracking is working so well for me. I've only gained 3 lbs in the past 5 weeks! (I was up 30lbs at 23 weeks. Now I'm up 33 at 27weeks). I'd love to gain 45lbs or less, so I feel like its really possible! Guess I will…

With my first pregnancy, I started off around 150 (I'm 5'4), but was really out of shape. I'd been smoking/drinking daily before getting preggo and worked long hours at a factory. I gained 46lbs, but was hugely swollen. Lost 30lbs in the first 3 weeks, but then stayed there for about 10 months b/c I didn't know how to…

I can't exactly remember how I did it, but I played around with it until I got it to start tracking backwards. So as I gain, it shows my overall gain, but says X number to go. I think maybe I set my starting weight to my pre-preg AND my goal weight. As I gain, it shows I have that many pounds to lose to get back to…

I have the glucose test coming up, too. And i"ve been thinking the same thing about viability! I keep thinking, if he/she was born now, they'd most likely be ok! Its a good feeling! The movements are getting so much stronger and I love it! Its just the coolest feeling to look down and watch a foot slide across your stomach…

It seriously is no more than doing a small load of laundry every other day! Everything else is the same as using disposables.

Most of the absorbancy will be in the insert, but I'd make sure the body of the diaper has a hidden layer of hemp or bamboo. For a heavy wetter, you'll want to get a regular fitted as opposed to a hybrid fitted (which has a hidden repelling layer instead of a hidden absorbent layer) I'd also avoid microfiber b/c although…
-
I would get a hemp/bamboo fitted diaper! You can put your cover over it, but it will give way more absorbancy than prefolds or inserts alone. WAHMs usually make better fitteds than commercial brands. (As far as extra absorbancy, etc). :)

I'm really surprised your doctor said that! Especially if you aren't obese! My pre-pregnancy weight was within the normal bmi and I am on track to gain 45lbs. I brought it up to my midwife b/c I was upset to already be up 30lbs at 24 weeks, but she said not to worry about it as long as I'm eating nutritious foods and…

I'm finding myself really tired and not motivated lately, too! I'm 26 weeks and I used to walk 3-4 miles daily at this point in my last pregnancy. But I can barely muster up the energy to play in the pool with my 3 and 6 year old! I bet the heat has something to do with it! Plus, I'm busy with other things (cleaning,…

Same here. I found that I was out of breath right away and my heart would be hammering in my chest. I started doing more incline walking (when trying to jog on treadmill). I'm 25 weeks now and have pretty much stopped (though that has more to do with a busy schedule and it being hot, etc). I was able to run a 5K at 18…

Weight can fluctuate by that much easily! Unfortunately for me, when I'm pregnant, it never seems to go back down when I have a jump. but it will stay even for a while before climbing again. Hormones, water retention, bloating, etc.

Its so weird b/c all of my cravings have been some kind of spicy or sour thing that should cause major heartburn! But they don't! I hated spicy stuff before getting pregnant, too, so i have no idea why. I figure my body must need it for some reason. Whole wheat bread (especially homemade) gives me heartburn now, and so…

Wow! I'm surprised they made you wait so long! The other times I've done it, I fast beforehand (if its a morning appt) or make sure not to eat within 2 hours and to avoid sweet stuff (if the appt is in the afternoon). Then they take my blood, I drink the drink, wait an hour, get the blood draw and thats it! I'm sure your…

I"ve had different cravings each time. My first pregnancy, it was almonds, cheddar cheese and grapes or else marinated garlic/peppadew hot peppers/fresh mozzarella balls. With my second, I acquired a taste for saurkraut and pickled beets! lol With my current pregnancy, I'm obsessed with cucumbers! I make a salad every day…
