  • This is a great motivator for me to not eat sugar! I run distance and have noticed when I eat cereal like Cinnamon Life (my fave) or something sugary the day before, my joints are sooo sore. I really don't want to cut out sugar totally, but I will definitely start watching my refined sugar intake. Thanks for this!
  • Ok I know weigh-in is on monday, but I couldn't resist and I weighed today. You don't have to add it, but I"m 124.4 today!! And thanks to the member who made the spreadsheet!! :)
  • BOOM! one pound down from my last weigh-in (that I entered) so i'm 124.4 today!
  • Actually thanksgiving dinner never really gets me down. I love mashed potatoes and rolls, but it's pretty easy to control myself. Now my mom's chocolate pecan pie on the other hand....i could eat half the pie and not even realize it.
  • How are we doing, my collegiate peers? Hitting the gym hard I hope :)
  • I love Michael Pollan! I bought The Omnivore's Dilemma and read almost half of it, but school has gotten in the way so I'll have to wait till Xmas break to read the rest. He does such a great job of explaining how we've gotten to where we are as a nation and throughout most of the world and how we can and need to get back…
  • I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain that your Basic Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the amount of calories you burn naturally being completely sedentary, like bedridden. So if you did any sort of walking to you car, up the stairs, anything, that adds calories burned. Then you burned another 267 through exercise. So as the…
  • If I don't work out in the morning there is a 75% chance I just won't work out! I'm in :)
  • This freakin happens to me all the time!! are we just smelly people?? lol.
  • I have a pair of my size 0 jeans hanging on my wall and every couple weeks i plan on trying them on....hopefully next time i can get them up a little higher lol
  • Did your doctor put you at 850 cals a day? If not, you need to quit that because once you starting eating like a human again, you will just put all of your weight back on.
  • definitely! I see collarbone!
  • hahaha I blame it all on the Donk...crack me up.
  • I want to join this convo!! I'm trying to drop 10 lbs by dec 18th, so i'm trying a very low-cal diet until then. Hopefully that will jumpstart my weight loss and the last 10 will come off slower, but fairly easily. so today i had just under 1200 and i ran a couple miles and did Insanity cardio power and resistance. Should…
  • I'm a 20something in school! The working out part is easy for me. It's literally the best stress reliever ever and sometimes i'll work out twice a day! All you have to do is force yourself to get in the habit. After about 2 weeks, it's second nature to just plan your workout into the day. No problem. I struggle with stress…
  • I suggest going raw for a while. You don't count calories or anything, because it's basically just plant-based so you will fill yourself up on very few calories. It's so boring though, I will warn you. But if you only do it for a couple weeks, it will probably help.

  • I want to jooooin! I'm not weighing until wednesday but after that I will be weighing in on mondays:) my starting weight is 126, goal weight 110
  • I saw something about this on tv. If I remember correctly, the guy who started it used to be a nutritionist, right? That's sad when a nutritionist gives up and starts a heart attack grill. I almost feel, by his tone and whatnot on the tv interview, that he's making fun of America's obesity and we're all just eating it…
  • THIS. I used to eat like 1000 calories a day and the weight melted off. Then I started eating normal again and now i'm up 30 lbs. Don't put yourself through that.
  • stevia extract for sure. it's in drop form and you only need a couple of drops to sweeten things. It's completely natural too.
  • "Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're probably right"
  • The "willpower" excuse is such an easy trap to fall into. It does take strength and a mental awareness to say no to overindulging. However, we all have that ability. No fully developed person has less mental awareness than any other. Each day we make out own decisions. So each day we can make the decision to be healthy.…
  • oh geez i have a FR60....I'm sure they are the same in that aspect, but i don't have my stick at school with me! when i go home tomorrow i'll look and hopefully be able to help you out!
  • You might as well strengthen your abs now so when you do lose the fat you will already have a six pack and won't have to do that AFTER you've worked so hard to lose fat. Doing ab exercises isn't going prevent you from losing fat
  • I don't really know how Jared comes to play in this, but this is interesting. It gives me a bit of piece of mind because it's not that you should or shouldn't cut out certain foods, it's just that you don't HAVE to. But it also just makes this whole weight loss/fitness/health thing more complex because I'm looking for all…
  • Top 5 annoyances for me....(mind you I go to the REC at my college so it's filled with sorority girls and frat bros) 5. People who don't wipe off their machines 4. People who cover up their time on the treadmill because there's people waiting and there's a 20 minute time limit (okay, okay, if it's sleeting outside and you…
  • Hair loss just means you are lacking essential nutrients. Try to up your protein and take a multivitamin. This is why people with anorexia often find their hair is getting brittle and weak and falling out. Their nails get brittle as well and their skin even begins to flake sometimes. Now, I'm NOT saying you are anorexic!…
  • I ran my first full marathon in november of 2009, so 10 months after i started running. Had I really thought about it though I probably could have run one by september, I just didn't realize I wanted to do one until late october so I signed up. p.s. don't do that. give yourself at least 4 months to train for it (assuming…
  • yaaaaay!!! I've run 4 half marathons and one full marathon. I used to hate running! I started in january of 2009 (i was running some before that but had surgery and had to start over) with like 1-2 miles per day--as slow as i wanted to go. Don't worry about speed, just distance. Then when i was able to work up to 4 miles a…
