No cheat days for me - an occasional cheat meal instead.

How did it go for you? I am going to a conference in Vegas tomorrow that runs through Friday. Any tips?

A mission low carb high fiber tortilla with a stick of 2% sharp cheddar. I just wrap the tortilla around the cheese and make a quesadilla. 60 calories for a sargento cheese stick and 80 calories for a 6" Low Carb Whole Wheat Tortilla. It's only 140 calories but it has 8 grams of fiber and it's pretty satisfying.

Good reminder. :)

I drink my coffee black and prefer it that way but I know it's not for everyone. I don't think I will ever give up coffee.

Because some of the fat was rendered out. I would use the cooked weight.

From Web MD How can I control compulsive eating? Seek help. It can be hard to stop overeating on your own, particularly if there are deep-rooted emotional problems involved, says Robin B. Kanarek, PhD, professor of psychology at Tufts University. Working with a counselor can help you uncover the psychological triggers --…

Yes.

Which leads to this question ~ Then why do you all keep taking the bait?

You can totally undue your handwork with a cheat day. How about a cheat meal instead? Just keep in mind that there is likely to be a lot of sodium involved and you may have a lot of water retention afterwards. My advice, don't step on the scale for a couple of days because you most likely will weight in heavier. My second…

"I enjoy a drink everyday but really it's not one it's more like a bottle of wine everyday." This is from your initial post which is why we are under the impression that you drink a bottle of wine everyday. Did you not mean to say everyday. I would suggest you edit your post in that case. Not judging, just responding to…

Needs and wants are pretty closely tied. If you don't "need" it then you will find the power to stop at a reasonable amount aka cutting down. It may not be a "physical" need but it certainly sounds like it might be a psychological need. Not to split hairs, but it sounds like if "enough" doesn't start until the bottle is…

Oreo's would be a total trigger for me so I understand where the OP is coming from. Now, I can do a nice dark chocolate with a high cacao (86%) like midnight reverie. I eat a couple of squares of that and I don't need more. Good luck OP. Do what works best for you :)

I don't do low fat mayo. Full fat all the way but just less.
-
I have absolutely no willpower when it comes to my trigger foods so I squash it with a glass - for some odd reason, that works for me. -

Oreos and Cheese Puffs - very dangerous

That whole eating what you want but stopping when you're full - it's the stopping part that gets me every time. That's what I need to work on - recognizing when I've had enough without a food scale or a measuring cup telling me. Maybe I just need to eat slower...
-
Yes, I've been there as well. Sometimes I have that "all or nothing" mentality and that does not really work with intuitive eating. Need to retrain my brain!

^ this all the way....

Hi Radiatingkayla, I have not read it but I do plan on getting a copy. I do notice that I get hungrier when I am stressed. It calms me to eat but I know I need to find better ways to calm myself. I am trying to stop and ask myself questions before I do the mindless thing. I guess it's going to take a little more practice :)
-
Exactly, Kalikel. I would like to be able to do this naturally without having to count all the time. The app is really nice and a good "training" tool but how freeing it would be to do this without having to log. :)
-
Lol, I can appreciate that Mycophilia. Although "intuitive" can sometimes be "mindless" and mindless is what gave me 20 pounds to lose.
-
Very clever..... Oh you know it!!!
-
Nope, not going to log. It's one day out of the year. I will eat a normal breakfast and lunch and then slowly enjoy my dinner. No inhaling ;)
-
My best tip is to eat slow and don't go in in there starving. If you eat slow and put your fork down between bites and really enjoy the food that is on your plate, it will be that much more satisfying. Eating fast or inhaling your food will cause you to eat more before you even realized you've had enough. If you are in it…

I love the scheduled snack idea! I will give that a try. Thanks!

Agreed!!

Thank you :)

Thanks! I don't really want to exercise to eat more per se, but to blow off some steam so that I don't eat my feelings, lol. To learn to relax without the food. I think if I can get that down, I will be ok. :)
