Lara Bars
I eat the ones with no added sugar. My favorite so far is Apple Pie. Great with some green tea. They are helping me get through the 21 day Superhero challenge (basically, no sugar, grains, alcohol for 21 days - just meat, vegetables, fresh fruit and some good fats). I have 1 a day when I am craving something sweet. Yum.

Menopot
Ugh, it's totally pissing me off. I'm 55 and have been working out consistently since the beginning of January. I work out 5-6 days (cardio intervals - I mix it up plus strength training a few days a week) and my waist is as thick as ever.... I'm 5'2 and weigh 138. In my younger days I had a 27" waist and now it's 35...…

Snacks vs. Meals
Just curious. Does anyone here eat small snacks instead of full meals? E.g., 6 small snacks vs. 3 "normal" meals (I realize "normal" is subjective).

Just weird
Yesterday I ate McDonalds - Filet O Fish, Large Fries and a Medium Dr. Pepper for lunch and 2 slices of deep dish pizza for dinner. For breakfast I had an egg with low fat cheese and some turkey sausages. I also had a half cup of ice cream and a bowl of cereal for snacks. This morning when I stepped on the scale I was a…

You are beautiful so don't ever give up.
Because you are trying. Because you want to be healthy and active and live life to it's fullest. Because you are doing it for you, your significant other, your children, your grandchildren, but mostly you. Yes, someone is noticing that you are beautiful inside and out, so don't ever give up. That is all. Have a great day <3

Intuitive Eating
"Intuitive eating is a nutrition philosophy based on the premise that becoming more attuned to the body's natural hunger signals is a more effective way to attain a healthy weight, rather than keeping track of the amounts of energy and fats in foods." Anyone doing this? If so, have you been successful? Lost weight,…

Going around in circles
This is just a vent because I basically know what I need to do. I feel like I am going around in circles. I eat well during the day and then blow it at night. I feel like the stress from the day is creeping into my night and I am trying to eat it away. I wear a fitbit and try to get my steps in but that doesn't always…

Thanksgiving Stuffing or Stuffing Thanksgiving
So many good things to eat.... How do you personally keep yourself from overeating? Light breakfast and lunch or do you skip both so you can eat more at dinner? I typically just eat a lighter breakfast and lunch, but curious as to what others do. Share your plan of attack.

Do vitamins help you lose weight?
I started taking a multi-vitamin and also a calcium, vitamin C, and iron supplement a few weeks ago and it seems to have jump-started my weight loss. It could be because I am having less cravings and more energy to work out. I also sleep better at night. Anyone else experience this - or is this just a fluke?

The old "picture on the Refrigerator" trick
Apparently being healthy and feeling better is not enough of a motivation for me to stick to my eating plan so that I can lose twenty pounds. I found a picture of me from 20 years ago when I was in the best shape of my life. Goal weight, healthy and glowing. I worked out and ate right. I look so good!! I decided to put it…

3 Meals a day or 6?
I've just started doing 6 mini meals a day. Anyone else doing this? If so, are you splitting your calories evenly? I tend to get too hungry for just 3 squares and it keeps my blood sugar in check. What has been your experience?

How thick is your waist?
I am 53 years old, 5'2" and weight 135. My waist is 32 inches but my arms and legs are slender (not too skinny). It seems I carry most of my weight in my gut. Anyone out there with a similar problem? Can you share your plan of attack? :)

Your waist - how many inches?
I am only 5'2" and I weigh 138. All my fat seems to sit in my middle. I have a 32 inch waist - it used to be a 27 inch waist when I was younger and lighter. What is your height and weight - and how many inches is your waist?

Snacking or 3 square meals
What do you prefer/works best for you? Snacks, eating every few hours or 3 square meals. Sometimes when I snack, even if it's healthy snacking, I feel like all I am doing is thinking about food. How about you?

Prediabetic and High Blood Pressure :(
Just had my annual physical and learned that I am prediabetic and I have high blood pressure. I've been told to cut down on my salt and carb intake. I'm a little stunned. I have all the information I need to battle both - but I am depressed. Anyone else dealing with the same battle?

Prediabetes and High Cholesterol

High Cholesterol :(
Just tested at 250 LDL during a screening at work, which is high. My HDL is 47 which isn't high enough to balance out the high LDL number. I'm starting to think this may be a genetic thing. My cholesterol has always been on the high side even when in my 20's and only weighing 100 pounds. My doctors appt isn't until mid…

Gave Up Sweets...
I gave up sweets about two weeks ago. What I mean by "sweets" is candy, cake, pie, donuts, muffins, ice cream etc. When I get a sweet craving I have a frozen banana (no chocolate) or raisins mixed in with nuts, an apple or other piece of fruit. What is your favorite "non-sweet" sweet?
