  • Thanks Sunshine! Thanks the kind of answer I was looking for. Some of mine is probably food also, I haven't been as strict over the summer holidays. With birthdays in June, and then July 4th, I'm sure I have been a less stringent in logging. Last week I attempted to cut some calories out, but found that I was very…
  • You're definitely smaller. Look how your shirt hangs at the waist, where your belly filled it out in the before picture.
  • I can't tell you a definite answer. I am not an expert, I don't know anything actually, but I can give you my opinion. One day, won't impact long term goals. You may not see anything change this week, because you may have knocked out your deficit, but the long term will be fine. My experience is that if its a long term…
  • Bumping this thread, since its been a few months. Curious to see if you all have had the results that your looking for. I've also gained about 6 lbs, and seen an increase in measurements. 1.5 in just on my hips. Thighs and waist increase also. I am almost finished with stage 2 and wondering if I continue on, will I see…
  • Log it as "Deliciousness!" Seriously, though, estimate it as best you can and go on. A friend of mine once told me "This is a live it, not a die-it." You still gotta live life, and sometimes that means a delicious meal that can't be completely logged.
  • Had one. Kept it for 4 years. No side effects. Actually, yes there were, but good ones. I did not have a period, I also had no cramping or spotting, or any other TOM issues. My acne cleared up, and I lost weight. No change in diet or exercise, and in the first 6 months of having it, I lost 30 lbs and kept it off.
  • Aw. I think your bathing suite picture looks great. We are our own worst critics though. I think weight training will help you meet your goals. I have been doing weights for about a year now. I have definitely seen improvements in my body, even though I haven't lost another pound, or even an inch. It seems like the…
  • I'm so confused right now. I wake up from a nap and this is the first thread I open. My brain just freaking exploded. I think I'll go back to my couch.
  • I just deleted some. But only because of inactivit, not because I didn't like them or anything. In truth, I don't know if I liked them, because they signed up, sent FR, and never came back. If the person was recently active more than 2 months ago, I deleted them.
  • Www.adamantbarbell.com They have sturdy racks, and good prices. I got this one: http://www.adamantbarbell.com/Power-Cages-Squat-Racks/Best-Fitness-Power-Rack It only goes to 500lb recommended safely. But I'm just starting out so it should last a while.
  • My husband uses one. He got it about 2 months ago, and hasn't smoked a real cigarette since. He lowered his nicotine level last week. He has done great with it. Since he did have asthma and some slight heart problems, I am glad he has quit the cigarettes. His breathing has improved tremendously over the past two months.
  • I started high school at 110-115, and ended it at 145. I got married two months after graduation, and that was my wedding weight. Now I weigh 130-135 depending on the day of the week. I'm happier now, because I was just tall and skinny, now I'm lean and fit. I wear a smaller pant size now than when I was 115lb, but I'm…
  • I don't think so. Exercising with your daughter is so far from being a bad father that I could almost ask if you are serious. But I would caution her next time about just doing maybe half the reps you are doing, if she even wants to do them again. Body weight exercising can be intense, but its good for kids and adults.…
  • Just wanted to do a quick update. I did get a rack, bench, and bar with 100 lb of weights. I already had 80lb of plates here at home. I didn't get the starting strength book, but I was given a copy of the New Rules of Lifting for Women. I started it today, I'll give it a shot and see how I like it. If I don't like the…
  • O c'mon! Obviously she got extensions to try to hide her huge bulk.
  • I have heard it said that thirst makes a person feel this way. I understand that mid day snack feeling. It sucks to know you are not hungry, but just want a snack. I started drinking another bottle of water when i feel like that. Sometimes it helps, but sometimes I still snack.
  • Agreed. Did you go by a scale? Cause they suck.
  • Do you work out at home or in a gym? I am guessing from your post, that you go to a gym. That doesn't really matter though. I started strength training using Chalean Extreme. It is a 90 day program focusing on using heavy dumbbells. I had good results with it, but got a little bored. I made myself finish it and moved on.…
  • I love that! So true.
  • One plate. I get half a serving spoon of each thing I want to taste. I drink lots of water with my meal, but I do that anyway, so that's not really a special thing. Eat slowly, once the food on my one plate is gone, I'm done eating. But most importantly, have fun. These social events are important in your relationships…
  • I just changed my profile pic, in honor of this thread. Too bad I don't have a recent pic, its even better now. I hope I remember to change my pic again tomorrow.
  • http://www.adamantbarbell.com/Power-Cages-Squat-Racks/Best-Fitness-Power-Rack I found this today. It is in my price range. http://m.****ssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=23773346 This is the one I was looking at over the weekend. My husband was originally going to build me one, using online specs, but thought…
  • Thanks. That is kind if what I was thinking. I will have a 10x12 spaCE, so that's kind of an issue.
  • I hate to keep bugging you all, but I have a question about the type of bench I should get. I am seeing some with racks for bench press and some without. Obviously, the ones without are cheaper. Which one should I get? Since I am getting a rack, can I get an FID bench to use with it? Or would I need the one with the…
  • No pic. Already ate it. I had a breakfast pizza. I made it on a bagel thin, with shredded mozzarella cheese, and diced ham for for toppings. Open the bagel, spread your toppings, and microwave for 45 seconds. Quick and delicious. I also had a Mullers frutup yogurt this morning as well. More as an after breakfast snack.
  • Definitely going to learn the proper techniques for the lifts. I am looking into Starting Strength. The book store in town didn't have it, but they are supposed to be ordering it for me. It should be in this week. I am pretty happy about it. I've been wanting to do this for a while, but had to wait until the money was…
  • Thanks to both of you! The only experience I have with machines is the circuit type machines at a gym, and they seemed limiting as to what can be accomplished. He doesn't really understand the difference in the two, and I know he only mentioned it trying to be helpful. I will keep looking till I find what I need.
  • Wow! That's amazing. You've done a great job.
  • We run a family business. I pack my lunch now. It is a little difficult sometimes because then others are usually going out to eat or ordering out. But, I pack a salad everyday, because I love them. I pack a yogurt and one other snack, a fruit bowl or a snack bar, and sometimes a sandwich or a bowl of soup. Occasionally, I…
  • I remember when you posted the first set of pics. I had just started lifting then. You have made great progress! Congrats on that"
