Hell Yeah by Rev Theory....Give me a Hell! Give me Yeah! Stand up right now!!!! Get ready to go!!!

I agree that it's not the greatest habit in the world and would be willing to stop with the exception of the benefits that I get from it: - it keeps me from shoving other foods in my mouth that are much worse for me. - it gets me that little bit of sweet when I need it. - as an ex-smoker I'd rather have this nasty habit…

^^^ This! I burned over 1400 calories yesterday on a bike ride, which was only a 1/3 of the distance of my goal ride in just over a month. If I want to be able to accomplish my goal I need the fuel and energy to get there. Assuming I only ate my 1200 calories alloted yesterday after my ride, I'd have a deficit that would…

^^^ THIS! I was 34 as well when my daughter was born and feel exactly the same way. I didn't get married until I was 30 either, cause I knew I wasn't ready before then. Got married thinking I didn't want kids, because of patience issues. You have to do things in your own time.

I find for me, assuming I've done all the great advice above, it's just a matter of my body accepting this new level of performance that I'm expecting. After a few at a new distance it's okay and instead struggling with whatever my new "long" ride is. Hopefully until I reach when I can sit on my *kitten* with a beer in my…

I'm a dirty blonde that's been dying my hair red for almost 20 years now. I've always done it myself until recently, about 3 years ago, and I will never go back to doing it on my own, it's so much better quality product and the results are awesome! (I also get highlights done w/ it). And now I don't think my husband will…

Thanks for starting this thread. I really don't like bananas either ..... unless baked into bread with lots of butter and sugar. I was just reading an article, I think in Bicycling magazine, that was talking about eating pistachios (which I love) for potassium.... which saved me last week when my swim coach found out I…

Congratulations!!! You look fantastic and I love that you felt fantastic enough to quit smoking too!!! Kudos!

120!?!? That is impressive! I do like working on form and pedal stroke on the trainer, makes a big difference when I go outside. Then by the end of summer I think I lose it again.

I'll have to try this...tingling is for the bedroom, not the bike!

Good Advice! I trained for my first Century (100 miles) last year when most of my rides where15-20 miles and the biggest thing I found was getting time in the saddle so your body was ready for that long on seat and in that position. And, absolutely get a road bike if you don't have one - the gearing is so much different,…

Thanks Zoom I'll have to check that out.

Sounds cool but I'm not really looking to spend more $$ on another trainer when I have one, and use it only in the the most desperate of weather situations. More looking for training programs to do when I'm forced to stay inside.

I do. most of the of time, especially for rides longer than an hour. I use Hoo-Haa cream which used to really annoy me when I first got it because it's got something in it that had a "warming sensation" for the first few minutes which made me 1) have to go pee and 2) aware of my crotch when I don't really need to be. It's…

I will never complain again about how hard it is for me to find jeans since my waist is so much smaller than my hips/thighs. It's all a matter of perspective.

I loved The Help, but yeah that would not have kept me motivated on the trainer. I love being outdoors too and can't wait for this snow to melt. I'm horrible about working out at home, like you said there are too many distractions, but for some reason I can usually get on the trainer if I have too. Maybe it's the promise…

We are planning on doing the the one here in Denver as a family thing, a way that my super runner husband, my wannabe self, and our 7 year old can go out and run something together where no one is looking for a PR.

I just finished Catch Me by Tess Gerritsen, which comes out on Tuesday - love all her books. I'm listening to CJ Box's Free Fire. And currently I'm trying to catch up on my stack of magazines before picking up another book.

How is Zero Day? Isn't that a new series or a stand alone? I read all his Camel Club, Maxwell & King stuff but haven't looked to closely at this one yet.

The SAME music every week!?!?! UGH!! (Where do you go?) Thunder struck is awesome... I'll have to check out some of your others that I'm not familiar with.

My brand new favorite is Rolling in the Deep by Adele, other favorites are: Stayin' Alive - Bee Gees Rollin' by Big & Rich Fighter by Christina Aguilera (I think I cut off the beginning on this if I remember right - long intro) Inside of Me by Dead by Sunrise You Spin me Round remake by Dope Lose Yourself by Eminem I Don't…

I really miss being able to workout right when the gym opens. No idle chit chat. Everyone was busy getting on with their workouts. Now I go when all the stay at home moms go and it's just gossip central.

Almost all of my friends on here are my real friends. We all keep each other on track and accountable, which to me is invaluable. We also workout together whenever possible. I don't know what I would do without them.

You look like the cupcake pin-up girl ... I love it!

After one of those windy rides I always wish that head wind cycling was a choice under resistance training.
-
I'm guilty of a few of those. Most recently, "This headwind sucks"
