Epiphany correct!! You must must MUST net your BMR or your body thinks it's starving and holds onto excess fat. Also, a previous person was correct, you won't gain muscle with a huge calorie defecit. It would do your body so much benefit for you to eat at TDEE for a few weeks and then if you still want to lose a bit more…

Yay!! I'm going on holiday in just under 3 weeks, so I'm going to persevere until then and really earn my rest :D Thanks for sharing!

How do expect to keep building muscle without eating that much? 2500 does necessarily equal more food, you just have start adding higher calorie options, avocados, peanut butter etc. You're stressing your body out by doing so much exercise and not eating enough to compensate. Do the research and you'll start to understand.…

I don't think you're eating enough! Have you calculated TDEE & BMR? You're eating what a strength-training woman should eat. Being male would add a few hundred cals to that. To build muscle & lose fat, you need to eat heaps, especially protein. It's possible with all that exercise you're not netting your BMR, so your body…

I puff up straight away after a heavy lifting session. I feel like I go from somewhat toned to puffy and chunky in about 40 minutes... it's not pretty LOL. I've been at this for weeks but it hasn't changed, so I just deal with it. If I've got somewhere important to go, I won't schedule a lifting session within the 8 hours…

Really? I have found the complete opposite. Definitely come back and feel free to add me... but only if you're netting more than your BMR... :)
-
Upping your cals is a great idea. You want to work out your TDEE and then cut by 10-15%. Come and join the EM2WL (Eat More 2 Weigh Less) community, plenty of like-minded, very supportive people who look very carefully at diaries and macros :)

So happy for you!! Both are very awesome NSVs :)

Even after almost the whole of NROLFW stage 1 at the gym, I am still intimidated in the weights section. I am usually the only female loitering around the heavier weights and definitely the only female using the assisted squat machine and the like. I honestly feel like all the guys are looking at me going "ummm... she…

Thank you!! Made me sooooo hungry looking at all those yummy options haha
-
Yay! These are both FANTASTIC things to do. Just make sure that on the days you do cardio that you are netting your BMR, just so your body knows you're not starving it and it doesn't have to hold onto anything :)
-
You are an absolute inspiration! I am following in your footsteps... day 65 of heavy lifting and plenty of food.... can't wait for my day 600!!! Thank you so much for sharing :)

She's AWESOME. I've seen her around the forums and I'm pretty sure on the EM2WL fb page too (wow... this makes me sound like a massive creeper LOL). I've read some of her posts before and seen her photos. Such a great advocate for not starving and lifting heavy!!!

So fantastic!!!!! Very happy for you :)

Absolutely. I don't weigh, but my muscles puff up straight away after a lifting session (I look puffy, not good lol) and apparently that is because they get a big blood rush to them. The day after lifting I've read that you retain heaps (HEAPS) of water while your muscles are repairing. I've even read (from Kiki or Lucia I…

Oh, one more thing. Good macro goals to aim for are 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat

Hey there! Wow that's a lot of exercise go you!! But eating only 1700 cals, you're probably not netting your BMR and thus your body still thinks it's starving and would just want to hold onto whatever it can and also burn up muscle for fuel. I think that if you don't want to do your TDEE reset until after your holiday…
-
Yep agree with PLUMSGRL, I can't add too much to this as without knowing your stats it's hard to tell... however I do know that I get absolutely ravenous on big burn days if I haven't yet netted my BMR. And I listen, because my hunger cues seem to be on track now that my body is used to eating the right amounts of food. So…
-
That is just the BEST!! So happy for you :) And totally agree jenluvsushi, TOTALLY!
-
Sometimes it's a really scary decision to make, but it's definitely the right one. The mental & physical benefits from resetting are fantastic and your body will love you for eating TDEE every day :)
-
That's a really lovely NSV :)

I want your arms!!!

^^^THIS!! this this this this this. I could not have said any of it better myself. The energy, the binges, the muscles, the scale, everything. Amazing attitude Heidi!!
-
^^^ This. You're so right... the number doesn't matter!! And like the website above, most photos I see of absolutely ripped girls weigh much more at their best physiques than beforehand. Muscle weighs more than fat. It's nothing to be afraid of, and if anything, you can keep eating the same amount of cals because the less…

Hey there, it can be SO frustrating I totally understand where you are coming from. However, honestly if you're lifting heavy now, you need to throw that scale away. Your muscles are growing so you can't expect the weight to fall off on the scale. But you CAN expect your size and body to change. Putting all your hope into…

You are so cute! Haha I've started NROLFW and without going into the details, I've made a deal with myself to up my weights every single workout. This means that I absolutely have to keep track of what I'm doing. This really works for me, and it ensures I'm getting the most out of my workouts as it forces me to get…

This is a brilliant plan. The 1lb per week especially. Sometimes it's really tough to go the slower, healthier way because we all want results now now now! One of my faves to remember: If it comes off too quickly, it will come back on even quicker. You are definitely doing the right thing :)
-
I am definitely all for slightly over-estimating cals if you're doing a serious strength training program. The worst that could happen is that you eat at TDEE instead of cut for a few weeks, then when you finally realise you'll have been fuelling & building muscle the whole time, and if you cut a bit from there and start…

Lol! Total NSV!! :)
