Same thing here ALWAYS when I walk, but not always when I run, but I know why...monitoring my heart rate while walking. or below reasons for running This applied when I was just coming back from my bilateral femoral stress fractures...a (IMO too) long of an injury that led to a weight gain of 20lbs in a year...bc my body…

Fantastic job. Keep up the dedication and hard work

For me what makes my logging easier (other than making my own food listings) is the barcode function on the app. It makes things a lot simpler (even if sometimes it doesn't find my the food I scanned, or it pulls it up with incorrect calorie information)

For me it's about portion control and making healthier choices. Right now most of my food would fit into "junk" in a lot of people's minds. However I eat them because for me it makes portion control and makes counting calories easier. I eat foods, I work out, I eat my cardio-machine calories back, but not my weight lifting…

Agreed....or in my case....a splendid picture I took of Dover Castle during my time in England

Were you always overweight? * Chubby baby, scrawny toddler/kid (like seriously skin and bones). I ate a lot of bad food choices as a kid (see the above, borrowed quote), didn't know better, but I still couldn't gain weight. Then about puberty I started having self-image issues. Gained weight kinda slowly, skimming that 165…

Way to go. That is an amazing transformation. You look like a whole new person. Keep up the good work.

instead of hitting control, if you right click it, then select "new tab" or "new window"

I too use LOL, sparingly on here it seems, but as just about everything is funny to me *with exceptions*, I am really laughing when I type LOL or lol

Born and raised within a 5 mile radius of Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, NE. Transplanted temporarily to Las Vegas, NV. Still consider myself Nebraskan, as that is my state of residency, and I'm a taxpaying-voting member.

Feel free to add me as well.

I've never really been asked how much. Sometimes I volunteer it. About a week ago, I had a colleague simply state "you look like you've lost weight" to which I replied a simple "thank you". Today I had someone who's also losing weight (posted progress on facebook, for which she is braver than I am), I messaged her to…

Couple of things here: my husband eats what he wants for breakfast, b/c I have my own breakfast food. This isn't weird because we've always had different tastes in breakfast food. I know that he tends to eat out for lunch, again doesn't bother me (it sucks now that I'm watching what I eat, because I enjoyed the few…

5'6" want to lose a total of 52 lbs, as my first goal. Maybe an additional 15 want to see how I feel when I reach 52 lbs.

I spend my weekends taking walks with my rat terrier, and logging every bit of food. That way even if I don't actually exercise, I don't overeat.

I've had success using them. I used one a couple times, after a couple days apart, before a PT test, and I lost about 2.5 inches, self-tape. I was exercising and eating right as well in preparation for my PT test. I used the wrap to see if it would give me a few extra points for my tape. The feeling I would describe in my…

How did I miss water exercises??? Swimming is an excellent cardio exercise. I do wish I was a good enough swimmer (techniques) to do swimming as an exercise. I have thought about water aerobics though.

If it's a chewing thing though, look at getting some xylitol chewing gum.

I agree with the planning for snacks. I have a variety of the 100 calorie snack packs.. I plan for them throughout the day. I also use the special K protein meal bars. Most of the varieties have 200 or fewer calories, and to me at least are quite filling (I prefer the chocolate chocolate chip, and I eat one usually 1-2…

I've weighed a little bit more than I should have starting in high school. Even now I'm still the smallest of my sister, my mom, and my maternal grandma. My sister is shorter than me and weighs about the same, my grandma and mom are a little bit taller but weigh a lot more. In my adolescence I was called "skinny Minnie" as…

I too weigh myself daily, but only record weekly (Mondays). I'm glad to see there are so many like-minded individuals out there. I record on Mondays. I weigh myself, take my measurements, then proceed to move on with my day. I weigh myself the rest of the week, and sometimes take measurements, just to keep myself on track.…

I'm only going to suggest talking to a medical professional (physical or occupation therapist). They'll be able to accurately and safely give you a rehabilitation plan, as well as give you at home exercises that won't aggravate or re-injure yourself.

I agree with 3 days being strict. If you look up color personalities, I have an orange. Organization and strict plan following come as a challenge for me. It's hard enough for me to follow the calories and the exercise. I log everyday because that makes following the calories and the exercise easier. This past week I took…

I say ROCK IT as well. Enjoy your vacation/holiday (whichever you want to call it)

MFP will let you track your own measurements. You just go to your home page, click "check-in", then under the measurements you'll see "track additional measurements"

It restricts the amount of air you can inhale, similar to resistance simulators I use to test ventilators at work. The restricted air flow mimics the hard to breathe part of high elevations. While having to do more research into it, at a basic level it does seem plausible. This being said, still looks scary.

You would only maintain weight if the calorie goal is the same as what your body needs to live. For example at my current weight, if I were trying to maintain weight and activity level, I would need to shoot for 2200 calories. If my net calorie intake (food minus exercise) is 2200 I'm going to maintain weight. My daily…

I agree with the getting enough protein and adding strength training. Adding strength training builds muscle mass, and muscle mass burns calories (and fat) by existing.

I'm about to be 24 and am trying to lose 52 overall. Have lost 16 so far. I feel the last 37 won't go as smooth as the first 16 though.
